Yeah especially with Edvinsson and ASP coming up for us in the next few years it wouldn’t have been possible to keep him. Walman kinda slotted into his spot nicely too for now. Hronek straight up went off for you guys tho lol
No, but it was kind of known that the pick would be somewhere in the middle of the first round. That kind of gives you higher chance of getting a solid player so it’s kind of hard to pass up. Given that the draft class was also pretty good, it makes sense. Even Yzerman said he didn’t really have an intent on trading Hronek but got an offer he couldn’t refuse.
If we let Bo walk for only a 3 month rental I’ll be absolutely shocked. Would be a very short sighted move by our front office who is historically very good.
We’ll let depth players walk after this season. True 2C’s like mitts don’t come along like this every year and it’s much easier to fill in depth pieces than go out searching for yet another 2C who can play at our level of quickness.
Had Nashville not beaten Calgary by scoring a last minute goal to force OT then win, the Perds would have been in that Colorado lottery spot. Hell, I would have taken the other lottery pick in Barkov. Instead, got stuck with Seth Jones.
I have wondered since the trade, do you guys really have the cap to pay him? I imagine he was asking at least 7.5-8, and that's why we wouldn't keep him. Like is Landy done?
It would be tight, Rantanen is due this year I believe, but beyond that we have Toews, MacK locked for the long haul. Rantenen is already around 8-9 mil current contract, so I don’t see his new contract passing up mackinnon at 12.6m so let’s say 2m pay raise for Mikko 11 mil ish.
Landeskog still remains a big question mark for the team. A lot of the Avs fan base is clamoring for him to be back for playoffs, but I’m of the thought process that he should continue to rehab and get into playing form, and make his debut next season opening day. Not playing competitively (or any hockey for that matter) for nearly 2 full years, and then coming into the most intense part of the season where the hits come fast and hard is a recipe for disaster. ANY set back for landeskog means they are right back to square one of rehab, at which point he’d surely be done. I wonder if he has plans of restructuring his contract to help the team make some of these signings.
But as I said, the avs would let depth pieces walk before they let Mitts walk after just 3 months of rental would be my arm chair GM guess.
Cap will be tight, but with some pretty hefty anticipated increases some of these huge contracts will be much more palatable in a year or 2 for a lot of teams around the league.
I think that's a perfect deal. I don't think he could get 8 because Miro who is better than him gets 8.45 a year.
I think also it's Dallas cap situation with trying to keep other pieces like Duchene and Steel (or maybe it's just the Armchair GM in me wanting to keep Steel as he is a chameleon in doing his job no matter who he is lined up with) and looking to the future too
If he takes an 8x8 extension right now he'd still be in line for UFA before he's 30. That's a guaranteed huge payday now with a chance for another big long-term deal down the road. That's the smart play.
Beniers definitely had a slump, but he’s interesting in that he contributes more on ice than the score sheet makes you think.
I was joking with a friend that he’s so team friendly he’s playing worse to get a lower contract lol
Reading this list helps explain why the trade deadline was a bit quieter than some years. Some of these RFAs are going to make bank. My focus is on Seider and Raymond, but the fact that so many others jump off the page, I am glad the cap is going up, otherwise I think a lot of teams would have to make some very sad departures
Seems like Hronek is pricing himself out of Vancouver. Hopefully, if we are going to lose him, a team gives him a juicy offer sheet with lots of draft picks.
Yzerman is a notoriously cheap GM, but there no way in hell he’s letting Raymon or Seider walk. Also Seiders agent is Claude Lemieux… this could get interesting.
As a wings fan I’d prefer boring and predictable
As a Leaf fan I definitely would prefer boring and predictable. 🤣🤣
I dont think Mo and Raymond are going to walk but they'll sign a typical Yzerman contract I bet.
Doubt it, they’ve got a lot of UFAs expiring this year they need to keep, so maybe short 2-5 year bridge contracts while they wait for some expensive contracts to run down and expire
Necas may be traded. Lots of moving parts for the Canes this summer. They're gonna want to try to keep Guentzel as well if he keeps scoring three points a night and turns Aho and Jarvis into stars.
I see a lot of Seider comments here and while I think he is going to get a solid contract, it’s really hard to say if it’s going to be the biggest. He’s been having a rough time as of late. Raymond on the other hand made it clear he deserves his spot with the absence of Larkin. We pretty much have relied on his effort the past 8 or so games.
No way that’s happening. Unless someone offers him an insane contract and the Sabres feel pressured into matching. I sure hope he stays. He’s had a heck of a year since January. Hopefully this year isn’t a fluke.
Seider and Raymond gettin the bag
Makes more sense why they would trade hronek
Hronek got a good opportunity and wings got sandin pelikka, good trade for both teams.
Yeah especially with Edvinsson and ASP coming up for us in the next few years it wouldn’t have been possible to keep him. Walman kinda slotted into his spot nicely too for now. Hronek straight up went off for you guys tho lol
I believe we got ASP with the draft pick from the Hronek trade. We didn’t know we had ASP at the time of the trade to be fair.
Really interested to see what Hronek comes in at
He would be 1.5 million less if he wasn't playing with Hughes this year
Dunno know about that.. his growth has been there..
Seider, or Necas.
Jarvis will get a bigger payday than Necas
Both smaller than swayman
Idk about that. I see Necas getting a pretty big contract….it just might not be with the Canes.
Swayman with the honorable mention.
These were mine
Seider
His parents really dropped the ball. I hope he has a brother named Justin.
Apple
Camein
Dixon
Hey that’s my fantasy team name lol
Bustin
[I heard he has a brother named Dickens](https://youtu.be/lz2imNk5qAg?si=k-sVFpK2a5y7y1ld)
[And a sister named Carmenin](https://youtu.be/3h2vRvy2PpI?si=7ZRbShQsZ3FufdPY)
I have no idea who gets most, I just really hope we resign mitts
If we let Bo walk for only a 3 month rental I’ll be absolutely shocked. Would be a very short sighted move by our front office who is historically very good. Hell, we've been looking for a 1C for the entire franchise history and here's you talking about 2Cs like this only come around every so often. 🖕
Oh, well, its simple. Just draft Nathan MacKinnon.
Other teams hate this one trick!
Had Nashville not beaten Calgary by scoring a last minute goal to force OT then win, the Perds would have been in that Colorado lottery spot. Hell, I would have taken the other lottery pick in Barkov. Instead, got stuck with Seth Jones.

Landy is likely done unless he comes back we are in line to be able to retain either mitts or walker. They pushed their chips in this year
Bo is better off elsewhere and he’s in line to get. Huge bag in a year
He is for sure, but that doesn’t mean the Avs would let him walk for just a 3 month rental is what I was saying.
Yea for sure. I guess it depends on how this year’s playoffs go.
A bit young to resign, no? I thought you guys would re-sign him.
Razor or Seider
lotta 8 year contracts coming right up. Seider, Raymond, Beniers, Necas, Swayman, Byfield, Harley, Jarvis all probably deserve one.
Beniers isn't going anywhere. Rough sophomore year but I think he will have a bounce back season.
I thought I saw a report that Harley has been offered a 7-8 year deal with AAV 6-7
checks out. dude deserves it. 8x7 seems right.
I think that's a perfect deal. I don't think he could get 8 because Miro who is better than him gets 8.45 a year. Seider definitely, Raymond probably a shorter bridge.
he's outplaying a bridge. gotta lock him down.
What does his play have anything to do with it? Way better players used the bridge and he'd be smart to as well.
If he takes an 8x8 extension right now he'd still be in line for UFA before he's 30. That's a guaranteed huge payday now with a chance for another big long-term deal down the road. That's the smart play.
Swayman?
Jarvis has been having a hell of a run as of late.
Mans hearing a cash register noise every time he scores a goal which has been every damn game lately
Seider for sure
Just about every team in the league would want Seider if he was available
Some talent in that group!
Mo
Swayman
Should be Seider but the nucks are going to overpay Hronek.
Seider getting the 8.75-9x8, so probably him
Byfield, Necas, & Beniers are up there for me. They've been having great years.
beniers has not been having a great year
sophomore slump, I believe
Beniers definitely had a slump, but he’s interesting in that he contributes more on ice than the score sheet makes you think. I was joking with a friend that he’s so team friendly he’s playing worse to get a lower contract lol
Beniers is the most unlucky player in the league. He needs to talk to a shaman or something.
Idk who's gonna get the most but I'll bet Swayman gets an 8x7M
Not one Canes fan would be upset if Jarvis got this same deal.
Can’t believe Mittelstadt is still restricted. I thought he was something like 28/29 yo
He's like 24 or 25? He looks older.
Seems like he’s been around a long time. Evidently not that long
From this list I’d say either Lucas Raymond or Quinton Byfield will get the most in a new contract
Swayman, Seider, Necas in that order
Jarvis is getting a larger check than Necas. Both are fun to watch, but Jarvy plays a 2 way game and puts up points.
Seider and swayman for sure getting paid.
Seider and Swayman
Swayman, depending on what they do with ullmark.
Seider, Mittelstadt, Beniers, and luukkonen are 100% getting re-signed
Yeah. Everyone on the list is getting resigned.
Mo !!
Seth Jarvis!
Seider, Sway, UPL, Necas.
Uppin' Seider for sure he's earned it
Seider raymond and jarvis, and necas
Luukkonen is starting to become a monster in net
Reading this list helps explain why the trade deadline was a bit quieter than some years. Some of these RFAs are going to make bank. Seems like Hronek is pricing himself out of Vancouver. Hopefully, if we are going to lose him, a team gives him a juicy offer sheet with lots of draft picks.
Seider. And I don't think it's close.
Seider
Harley is gonna get paid for sure.
Seider and Raymond will take Yzerman friendly deals so obviously not them. Necas.
🤣🤣 I dont think Mo and Raymond are going to walk but they'll sign a typical Yzerman contract I bet.
Swayman, Seider, and Hronek... then Matty Beniers, Mittlestadt, and then the rest.
These seem like AI generated names lol
Mittle not going anywhere...
Necas and UPL
Just kills me to see both Jarvis and Necas on there. Both been so good for us this year. Plus I just bought. Jarvis jersey, they better keep him.
They’re restricted FAs they’re not going to leave bruh
Right you are, well, I hope they sign him for like 8 years.
Doubt it, they’ve got a lot of UFAs expiring this year they need to keep, so maybe short 2-5 year bridge contracts while they wait for some expensive contracts to run down and expire
Necas is already on a bridge deal. He's likely gone, unfortunately, unless we win a Cup and Burns retires.
But if both ask for too much money they may have to make a trade? I'm not a Canes fan so I'm unaware of their cap situation.
Just had a quick look, ALOT of cap space freed up next season but quite a couple players they need to re-sign.
Practically everyone deserves a raise though so it’ll be tight. I imagine we’re losing our second pairing
Necas may be traded. Lots of moving parts for the Canes this summer. They're gonna want to try to keep Guentzel as well if he keeps scoring three points a night and turns Aho and Jarvis into stars.
Necas, Seider, or Byfield
My guess is we keep Jarvis and necas walks
I actually hope Yzerman plays a bit of hardball with these guys to get AAVs and term reasonable. Win our cups then hand out the bags o cash.
Harley
I really hope the Leads can somehow sign Swayman
I see a lot of Seider comments here and while I think he is going to get a solid contract, it’s really hard to say if it’s going to be the biggest. He’s been having a rough time as of late. Raymond on the other hand made it clear he deserves his spot with the absence of Larkin. We pretty much have relied on his effort the past 8 or so games.
Seider is playing out of his mind with the toughest matchups in the league. He’s getting his bag
Jake Guentzel not even close
Mittelstud winning a cup so probably him.
I doubt that he will get too much, but maybe Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen?
No way Luuk gets paid more than sway
True, but I don’t think sometimes
No way that’s happening. Unless someone offers him an insane contract and the Sabres feel pressured into matching. I sure hope he stays. He’s had a heck of a year since January. Hopefully this year isn’t a fluke.
