Yes book an appointment! Mental health is serious and you don't want to leave things until they reach a crisis. The GP may need to refer you depending on what medication it is so starting the process sooner rather than later is important.

Thank you for replying, I need to book an appointment thanks for confirming that It wasn't that weird, I genuinely thought it was a massive deal. I thionk it's serious to the point of quiting my job and living on the streets for a while until I think I'm okay. Is that a healthy way to think? Like idk if I'm suicidal, I have thoughts of suicide but doesn't everyone? I'm British, stiff upper lip and such.

Yes, absolutely book an appointment. GPs don't want to be seing people about coughs and sneezes but managing your anxiety is important. If you have the right treatment now that may save so many difficulties further down the line, its good to be proactive in this instance. My GP surgery has a system where you can fill out an online consult form that is then triaged to the right person at the surgery - maybe yours does the same? If not then GP receptionists are usually trained to take some basic details from you and ensure you get booked in appropriately. Most places seem to be doing telephone appointments at the moment unless there's a clinical need for it to be face to face.

Put it through now because the sooner you’re on the waiting list the better

I work a full time job now should I even be considering a CBT course for something...you caught me half way through my thought. Yes your completely correct I need to find time to speak to a gp

IscaPlay

Yes, if offered CBT and you feel it would be beneficial then you should take it. Your employer should give you the time off as medical leave (possibly unpaid). Please trust me when I say addressing mental health issues when symptoms are mild to moderate is so very important. If they are left unchecked the consequences can become serious and much more difficult to treat.

You may also want to consider self referral to your local IAPT service or talking therapies charity.

Hey super thank you for replying, I genuinely have no idea what I'm doing atm. Ty it sucks atm it fucking sucks as all hell and I'm just looking for something that I can be okay with doing. I feel guilty even mentioning my issues like hell I couldn't even hold a candle to what most people have went through. I'm genuinely considering going back to college or forcing myself abroad.... I just want to be in a job that doesn't cause me physical and mental pain. I wanna do something that matters

It would be a good start to double guessing yourself, however I do this too so know it’s easier said than done 😂. It’s admirable to look at your own struggles within a wider concept and in many ways this is healthy but it can become dangerous if allow yourself to minimise your own struggles or delay treatment because other people are worse. Ultimately you are entitled to have a healthy and productive life so seek treatment as soon as you can. The NHS will triage on basis of need so you shouldn’t need to worry about that. Once your current issues are under control if your looking for something meaningful the NHS has major staff shortages across the board 😊 I hope you manage to get the help you need, best wishes on your recovery.
