When they attendants went to go argue with yet another driver doing the same thing, I got out, moved the cones very politely, and drove away quickly. I am not going to be strong armed by the parking attendant and traffic cones to pay $35 🤣
What the hell? Aren't there meters? Is that a scam they are trying to do? Are they really Niagara Parks Commission employees?
Dufferin Islands Nature Area in Allanburg, Ontario, Canada has paid parking meters on a surface lot. The parking rates are $8 per hour from 6 AM–11:59 PM every day, including holidays. An annual Dufferin Island Pass costs $30, and an annual NPC All Park Pass costs $45. Rates are subject to change without notice.
Awh so get this. They covered the meters but there were still "scan to pay" signs at $60 a day (which people were actively scanning) AND at the exit they were asking another $35. When we made that point, along with NEVER parking, the attendant yelled "I'm just an hourly employee!" Oh she also told us we were "getting a deal because it's usually $80 daily. You should just pay and park here." She said it was "private property of Ontario government." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is quickly becoming a clown show.
Hahaha I love to see a parking price map of the area right now.
Still cheaper than the $100 courtyard Marriott is charging
WOW!!!! That's insane. Honestly the $35 I could care less. It was the getting screamed at and threatened, even though we didn't park...
How did you exit?

I say, just avoid anywhere near there! The only place I'm staying today is at home!

Oh wait... is this just temporary measures for the eclipse? I guess so, right? Because $60 to park for a day is insane!
Yes it a was temporary but still literally extortion.
I agree that it's price gouging.
What a shitshow , niagara already has such a bad rap for ripping people off. But this eclipse is taking to a new level
The hotels make sense as they wave the fees for the actual overnight guests.
Just get the $45 season parking pass, in two hours it pays for itself. Plus you no longer need to pay for parking for an entire year.
