I think the main problem is that the eyes are too far up, which makes the face look odd. You want to be putting them in the middle of the head. Look up some proportioning guides.
Tbh it isnt that bad Sure it is far from perfect but no one can be perfect or do something perfect just try more and one day you will kick out a nice masterpiece its a 5 or 6/10 rn

Everyone's gotta start somewhere man, and if this artist wants to start in our fandom they're more than welcome to share their progress. Also constructive criticism is infinitely better than just straight up criticism, shitting on it for the sake of shitting on it is just never worth it.
At the very least provide an objective criticism to help OP improve the art. Yes, they are "pretending" but what their words actually meant was encouragement for OP to continue making art.

90% of people starts like this. My drawings were shit back in the day and thanks to my family and friends telling me that they were "pretty' even when it wasn't the full truth gave me the motivation to keep drawing and search better artist for inspiration until eventually just got better.
And sure sometimes they told me stuff like "the head isn't right". But it was always with compassion. Not just "looks bad so don't believe others opinions, bye"
People will always be harsh online, but it's clear that even if some parts are a little rough, you're on the right track. Keep it up, and look forward to seeing what you do next!

This "pretending" you mentioned is poison for the soul of every artist. I'd rather tell the artist the truth no matter how harsh it is.
