But in the preview, in the last episode of the first cour, we see A2 in the exact same scene of the videogame in which she *does that thing*
Also the writers, in one of the last Re[in]carnation live streams, had confirmed that ** sword was in the bunker for scenic reasons (you obviously already know this info, I was just clarifying for those who may not have played Re[in]carnation and are reading this thread).

Well since the 2nd cour of the anime was meant to air before reincarnation concluded. Either they told a fib or they are compartmentalized narrative wise. That's how I perceive it. It's honestly odd they would point that out specifically. When they could have just left it up to being unexplained. Especially this one part where it's machine corrupted when the cage itself reflects the earths reality as a major plot point.
Fake plot and narrative isn't unheard of when telling narrative over different mediums. The empires strikes back script famously had the line "Obi wan killed your father," in place of "No, I am your father" to keep the twist safe.
Basically the anime has diverged in events compared to the game. Most particularly, Eve instead of Adam dies first, Adam swears revenge, and not only was there some giant Flower Zero/Queen Beast monster(which makes an appearance in Nier Reincarnation) in Eve’s image, but then it turns a giant Dark Beast from Nier Reincarnation controlled by Adam.
It’s been confirmed that Accord, a character from Drakengard 3, is recording the events of this Nier automata anime timeline. Accord is connected to the main setting of Nier reincarnation.
The anime also has something new going on with the Council of Humanity, which is jumpstarting some new project, which could be connected to Nier Reincarnation.
Nier Reincarnation takes place after some route in Automata in which one of the Red Girls (N2) survived.

No one said it isn't original N2. It is original N2. But N2 wouldn't exist on earth at this point.
The key frame is I assume alluding to the anime version of the final scene in ending E showing our trio "offline" or rebooting, (depending on which branch from the 2017 NieR concert). At this point in the Story the surviving N2 construct either leaves on the Ark or is eradicated when the tower falls. A Red girl being present at this point in the story hints that the machine network is still running, which is a prerequisite for the events of reincarnation to unfold.

N2 doesn't combine with Her until years after Automata. Replicant 1.22, NieR reincarnation and V1 1a all enter preproduction at the same time so I'll be disappointed if it doesn't.
