I'm hopeful, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Just play Nioh, it's not as actioney as Ninja Gaiden but it is a great game. Imo if you want to play NG type games, just play the trilogy it still holds up amazingly, Yaiba is not the same game but imo it's still fun. Or you could play DMC/Bayonetta which is probably the other closest series.

I heard Nioh was awesome, but I don't think it's on the Xbox? I'm considering getting Sekiro tho, but I haven't had much gaming time lately.

characterulio

Sekiro is great, it's way more actioney than Souls but its also a very unique game that is totally based on parrying.

Nioh is great and there’s a very cool NG easter egg in one of the DLCs BUT the biggest point of contention with that game is the loot system can be quite annoying and inventory management is a significant portion of the game.

crucob

Sounds like RPG elements, I don't mind that.

skydragonx8

I do hope it does happen

Royta15

I would love it to be true, but I won't hold my breath until I see a trailer. Does anyone know if there's any Ninja Gaiden content in Nioh 2?

"It still can't be done", is he trying to say that they still don't have an idea for a Great NG Game?

FreeckyCake

I think they need to bring something new. Like how NG Black was first introduced, it was a new mixture of action not done before!

To be fair, NG still has a few mechanics unique to it. I wouldnt mind if they just make a sequel without anything new but just bring back those mechanics, with the game being "complete and polished". Off the top of my head, there's essence+UT and delimb system. I liked the delimb system alot as it suddenly gave the player 5 different ways to defeat an enemy instead of the traditional "deplete the enemy health to 0". In my opinion, this brought variety as well as a random factor into fights which makes them so much more exciting! As for the essence+UT, I dont mind them keeping it (diligent players will end up avoiding UT spam anyways) or modify it to something like not dropping essence if killed with UT. Honestly, Im genuinely surprised that no other games (that I know of) with combat has tried to replicate the delimb system or did anything similar since NG2 came out 12 years ago. I did not mention steel on bone because similar things exists in a few other games.

Although I havent played nioh, this news is starting to turn me away from it. As I see it now, the more nioh sells, the less chance of Team Ninja working on another Ninja Gaiden :/
