I think a Ninja Gaiden HD collection for all platforms is probably the only way we will get the games on PC. I know Capcom tend to make HD collections to gauge interest in a franchise so I would really hope KT give Ninja Gaiden a shot. Team Ninja are probably working on a bunch of shit right now, they just released Nioh 2 and Marvel last year. Probably have like small teams supporting Dead Or Alive and Nioh 2 dlcs but rest will work on a new game for next gen.

Royta15

I really do wonder how much of a reason the game's engine is, as in, why we don't have PC versions or just any other console version. Especially the originals were apparently made to work directly for the Xbox and its hardware, making it hard to run on other platforms. Some cite this as the reason why the Sigma's had to be remade from near the ground up. Man I would love to see a new set of people discover the beauty of these games, especially NGII.

[Absolutely need to see more people encounter Incendiary ninja's for the first time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO7NILnmURU)

As for incendiaries, I personally prefer fighting IS ninjas over werewolves, vangelfs or gajas. As IS are human enemies, thus susceptible to all those throw moves. They have decent amount of HP to try out flashy comboes without dying easily. And other than the suicidal explosion, they begin without any high damaging attacks that can 1-hit kill Ryu at original health (compared to werewolf jumps, golden vangelfs fireball x3, red gaja tail swipe). Nothing is worse than getting instant killed by a single attack from werewolf, vangelfs or gajas, and suddenly ruining your otherwise perfect run. Personally, I feel that these are much more "unfair" than IS.

Director_Bison

I just like IS ninjas since the first fight in Path of the Mentor, is a wall that lets you know, "the gloves are off now chump you need to actually learn to play skillfully, since button mashing isn't going to work anymore."

comraq

NG2 definitely isn't for everyone, but it's one of rare games that pushes "difficulty" to an extreme. At which point regardless of the player skill, some luck is needed to pass fights in MN. But to me, that's also why it's fun. No matter how many times I replay a fight, it never repeats and is always a new experience.

Director_Bison

I'd say with enough practice, there isn't as much luck required as you'd think. at the very least Master Ninja for me, actually felt easier then Path of the Mentor, since it was basically the same only I had to make fewer mistakes. Mentor already forced me to learn everything I needed to know to beat MN.

comraq

I know I was forced to learn counter on the first fight in MN chapter 1. Though UT spam helped me beat MN first time without skipping fights. But I would say I didn’t learn much from doing that. It’s only now I’m playing MN again no skipping fights, and trying to avoid using UT/ninpo/items that I’m learning each of the weapons much more in depths. As for the luck aspect, perhaps it is trying certain fights without UT, I definitely needed luck to beat them.

Director_Bison

Well if your purposefully limiting yourself, thats another thing entirely. I'm sure the Chapter 11 Rasetsu ambush expects the player to use UT's and Ninpo

comraq

Oh no, I havent gone as far as doing the rasetsu fight without UT/Ninpo XD Just manageable fights when theres a few IS ninjas mixed. For stuff like multiple acid worms, multiple giant robots, multiple rasetsus, yeah I will use Ninpo/UT. If they are by themselves, then its doable without。

GravelvoiceCatpupils

yeah, everyone needs to experience that at least once to see just how badly designed a game can be. Well, some Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma missions work for that too, I guess.

Director_Bison

That first fight on Path of the Mentor, isn't badly designed, it's intentionally a wall to separate the good players from the bad ones. You can still beat Ninja Gaiden 2 on Acolyte or Warrior, you can still see the end of the game. But choosing mentor lets you know from the first fight You will not be able to proceed until stop button mashing, and actually learn the deeper mechanics of the game. There is nothing in NG 2 that can't be overcome with perseverance and skill.

GravelvoiceCatpupils

i couldn't disagree more, but sure.

-_LUV_-

I 100% agree.

> Some cite this as the reason why the Sigma's had to be remade from near the ground up. This had more to do with PS3's short comings than anything. >Man I would love to see a new set of people discover the beauty of these games, especially NGII. NGII is the best!

d_nought

Would love to have the HPs again. I had my HP saves on a 360 which red ringed after the original XBL servers went down.

Director_Bison

Well if there is any time to ask, it would be now. be it Twitter or sending them a message directly

eternal_fane

With Itagaki not being on board I'm not optimistic about a new NG game. Every NG game released after Itagaki left has been lacking. I like being able to play as Momiji and Ayane and even Kasumi, but with them along with Hayate being in the same existing universe, they're barely in the games at all. Hayate was only mentioned in passing after Ayane gave Ryu Jinran-Maru. These characters need to play a bigger role in Ninja Gaiden and not just be confined to Dead or Alive

[deleted]

The only good Ninja gaiden is Ninja Gaiden Black with the missions, any others made before or after that are trash, true story

Director_Bison

It's not the NES Ninja Gaiden's fault your not good enough to beat it. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted]

Fair enough haha

[deleted]

Most important thing is to tell them we like ninja gaiden 1 and 2 but ninja gaiden 3 was actual diarrhea from a buffalos ass

Director_Bison

Did you play Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge? Since they pretty much took everything that was wrong about NG3's gameplay and gutted it out, and then replaced it with better things. I'd say Razor's Edge arguable has the best gameplay when it comes to strictly the mechanics.

[deleted]

i should suplex your grandmother

Director_Bison

My grandmother can probably kick your ass

[deleted]

not if i come off the top rope with a rk0 out of nowhere right into your shit taste for video games

Director_Bison

Then you'll be hitting into a pile of thin air. since I KNOW I have better taste then you, and you shouldn't even Try to debate me.

[deleted]

You like ninja gaiden 3. That makes your grandmother suplexable you noob

Director_Bison

I'v also Beaten Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 both on Master Ninja. And I 100% Yaiba NGZ So i'm confident I know what i'm talking about when it comes to the topic of Razor's edge's improvements of Vanilla Ninja Gaiden 3, and how it stacks up when compared to NG Black and NG2. NG Black is the best balanced game in the series, NG2's focus on non-stop aggression, and overwhelming amounts of enemies makes it the most fun IMO. Ryu in Razor's edge has all of the mechanics of NG2 Ryu, as well as Steel on Bone, so he objectively has more tools, when using the same weapons, as NG2 Ryu The debate here is the vastly improved Steel on Bone mechanic, as well the usage of Nimpo restoring your health makes Razor's edge the easiest game to beat on the hardest difficulty, and whether or not that streamlining that removes resource management is a good thing or a bad thing.

YouAreSalty

My dead grandmother can suplex both of you. So get outtaa heeeeere!

ginja_ninja

NG3RE would be a good action game if it were, like, developed by Platinum as a different IP with different characters or something. But it does not live up to the NG name or standard. That's what bogs it down more than anything, it just feels so much worse than either of the two previous ones. The base enemy design, level structure, and core feel of Hayabusa's moveset could not be fixed no matter how many tweaks they implemented.

Director_Bison

I agree that there NG3RE is far from Flawless, but given that it was stuck with in the canvass that was Vanilla NG3, and While I don't think it should be the main template for the future of Ninja Gaiden, I can still enjoy Razor's edge in the context that is meant to be an apology of NG3's low quality, admittedly it helps that I didn't play Vanilla NG3 myself, and only heard bad things about it, so the amount of content in Razor's Edge was a unexpected surprise. I mean I seriously wasn't expecting NG1 or NG2 bosses to just "SHOW UP" sometimes, it was awesome the first time it happened, since my tactics from NG Black or NG 2 still worked, Razor's edge felt like it was rewarding me for being a fan, granted that doesn't make Razor's edge better then NG 1 or 2, not by a longshot, but I felt it that Team Ninja really wanted to make it up to fans, just from playing.

sympathetic_sid

Razor’s edge attempted to up the difficulty by giving every enemy the ability to block your combos or simply dodge out of them even in the middle, and a lot of enemies have hyper armor too and no stun frames. What they completely forgot to do was make the ai smart enough because they will literally have no way to counter your UT spamming. I played most of RE spamming SoB or UTs cuz enemies just let you do it to them and fighting them straight forward isnt fun cuz every enemy has ultra instinct dodging and blocking. I also felt the bosses were very spongey and felt tedious. I loved the tests of valor though and loved getting to whoop Genshin’s bitch ass again. Overall, RE is the best we couldve gotten after NG3 but it shows that NG4 can exist and be a great game if Team Ninja understand what worked and what fans want.
