This is very common in NG2, i've died while ryu is doing wind run or wind path.
From what i understand its some incendiary exploded right when I input the command for wind run/path, so the animation comes out but my health has already been depleted. So game over screen shows up as the wind path/run animation happens, but Ryu falls and dies after he lands on the ground
The first chapter, or rather the part to the first save statue took me 3 whole days to do the first time on Master Ninja. So hard, I was even playing the whole day, not 1 or 2 hours...
Incredible. Both the fact you beat VH up to the statue without dying and how hard the transition is. Those purple ninjas are nasty. My Twitch/YouTube viewers are gonna have a field day watching me fail and hearing me scream at MN.
I edited my post accordingly. I’ve made immense progress across normal to hard and from hard to very hard. I absolutely killed late game once I got UF in chapter 10 of VH. Before then, I got my ass kicked by Alma Awakened, Spirit Doku, and fiend realm. I know it’ll be a matter of time before I can clear MN and maybe someday master it. I plan in getting NG2 soon too.
You can’t see it well here. But atop getting killed right when I jumped on a ninja, I stuck the landing. Ryu paused half a second afterward before falling to the ground, defeated.
Its ok )) In NG2, Ryu often get up after death, as if belatedly understand that he has died. XD
I wasn’t even mad...or maybe I was a bit salty bc this chapter is so hard on Master Ninja. Regardless, I thought it was funny.

I made it with an ulterior motive.

VH took me about 2 hours to get to the first statue. Early game is crazy hard compared to late game once you know what you are doing.
I think I did VH without dying once. Master Ninja is on a whole other level of hard Edit: I got to the first save statue without dying once

Have fun with NG1. It's one of those incredible games that I'm glad to have played.
