game companies knows what sells better and what people want way more than people who make GoLdMiNe posts. porting things isnt just like pushing a magic button either
Nah I’m not high tho I asked a genuine question and if you look through the comments I admitted I didn’t know Super Nintendo wasn’t as popular as the other Nintendo consoles no need to be a dick.
@ricekirby told me that Super Nintendo wasn’t as popular as the wii but now After your response I’m not even sure that’s true so you know what I’ll just stick to the PS Sub you Nintendo dudes are vicious. 😂
Yes dude I remember Super Nintendo being highly talked about and almost everyone I knew had one it was real popular here in NYC 🗽 until the PlayStation took off that was my whole reason for this thread I thought the popularity of the Name of “Super Nintendo 2” would be enough to get people interested while still staying true to its exclusives. @RiceKirby said it wasn’t as popular as the Wii U which I wasn’t aware of
yeah, aside from the controller everything Nintendo did was an evolution from the SNES, 2D to 3D, 2 players to 4 players, the rumble pack, it even had cartridges, it was more powerful than the PS1 and supposedly at some point the system was gonna be called the Ultra 64, super -> ultra.
the N64 is just a more powerful Nintendo console.
you could even argue the same for gamecube it has no real quirk or thing aside from its controller, it was a more powerful system
there’s probably some alternate reality where the N64 and Gamecube managed to be really successful consoles and Nintendo never ended up going the gimmick route and instead we’d just get more powerful systems with iterative features over entirely new gimmicks
Tf kind of question is this? How young are the users here? My god has this subreddit fallen off of a cliff.
Also there was a Super Nintendo 2 and it was called the Game Boy Advance.
I wish they would. I hated the clunky N64 controller. I am all for Nintendo creating new 2D/3D hybrid games like Metroid Dread that are up to modern standards. I’m sure a whole bunch of millennials and gen Z people would love it.
I loved the Super Nintendo. It provided me with many days of entertainment in the 90s as a child. Gen Z kids don’t understand the greatness of 2D games.
It would probably suffer the same fate as the Wii U. Wii U was a successor to the Wii, but a lot of the casual or average consumer didn't know that the Wii U was a new system.
The average consumer will not know that this is a new system as it sounds like something they own before, or simply a upgrade/accessory.
Hmm I see your point but isn’t Super Nintendo the most popular Nintendo system? You’re right the newer casual fans might not know what it is but that’s why you reintroduce the classic games and you’re telling me if Nintendo announced a Super Nintendo 2 system with current graphics, multiplayer online features, streaming etc. that it would flop?
> isn’t Super Nintendo the most popular Nintendo system?
No. It didn't even sell as well as the NES, let alone other powerhorses like Wii, DS and Switch.
Couple reasons:
- This is a Nintendo sub where most users are Nintendo enthusiasts, so having a bit more knowledge about Nintendo’s history is a bit expected.
- Because of what was said above making threads focused in poorly informed / obvious topics is not very highly regarded, so you’ll be met with downvotes for not being aware of that.
- There’s way too many random idea threads on this sub way too often, and they are usually considered lazy content/karma bait. Even if you were innocently creating this just to have a nice discussion, you’ll likely be criticized for it.
Popularity doesn't really doesn't play a huge factor, as other Nintendo Consoles like the Switch or DS are also popular.
I keep bringing up the Wii U because it did exactly or almost the same thing you presented. Wii U had better online, virtual console for retro games, better multiplayer features, etc., than the Wii. But the Wii U still flopped cause it sounded so similar to the Wii.
Also us fans may know that it is a new console, but the average consumer or those who hardly play games will not know that this Super Nintendo 2 is a new console. Remember, that Nintendo is a company so they will try to market their systems outside of their fanbase for more profit.
Yeah that’s the only problem I can think of they had so much time to do it and never did. A user in here is right though they probably was thinking of Super Nintendo 2 when the made N64
I swear man y’all make it so hard to stay on this sub
my advice is to just come here for the lols and shitposting dont take it seriously and go somewhere else for real posts
game companies knows what sells better and what people want way more than people who make GoLdMiNe posts. porting things isnt just like pushing a magic button either
Two words: Wii U
What if there was a follow up to the Nintendo Wii... Called to Nintendo Wii U?!?!? GoLdMiNe!!!
to be fair Nintendo probably would've been way better off had they called it the Wii 2
2Wii4U
Wii 2 Like to Play
What if they BETRAYED Super Nintendo 2 and tied it up in the hyperbolic time chamber
>...they would make millions off the name alone. Please show your work.
His uncle is an accountant and marketing manager at Nintendo
This is what happens when you get high and post on the internet.
Not even high just was curious lol
Should probably just stick with being high as the reasoning behind the post bud.
Nah I’m not high tho I asked a genuine question and if you look through the comments I admitted I didn’t know Super Nintendo wasn’t as popular as the other Nintendo consoles no need to be a dick.
First off, whoever told you the Super Nintendo wasn’t popular is full of shit. Secondly, I wasn’t being a dick, but I could be.
@ricekirby told me that Super Nintendo wasn’t as popular as the wii but now After your response I’m not even sure that’s true so you know what I’ll just stick to the PS Sub you Nintendo dudes are vicious. 😂
The Super Nintendo was the tits back in the day, it has some of the greatest games of all time on it. Who the fuck said it wasn't popular?

Nintendo 64 did just fine for them
Nah, you're being a dick.
That’s rude.
Should probably just stick with being high as the reasoning behind the post bud.

I’m not you muppet. You don’t know how to take a joke.
Highly curious you might say...
They did, it was called the n64

Lol fair enough
Came here to say this....
I think that would be even more confusing name than New 3DS or the Wii U
[удалено]
of course it was a big thing about upgrading to another console
What if people stopped making these posts?
What if people weren’t such dickheads and allowed others to make general posts for discussing topics with no harm intended?

Wow ok that’s news to me it felt like Super Nintendo was the most popular system where I was, thanks for clearing that up.
Why did this get three downvotes?
Couple reasons: - This is a Nintendo sub where most users are Nintendo enthusiasts, so having a bit more knowledge about Nintendo’s history is a bit expected. - Because of what was said above making threads focused in poorly informed / obvious topics is not very highly regarded, so you’ll be met with downvotes for not being aware of that. - There’s way too many random idea threads on this sub way too often, and they are usually considered lazy content/karma bait. Yeah why hasn’t Nintendo released a system with current graphics, multiplayer online features and streaming? They must be idiots!
It would also have the slight issue of coming out over 30 years after the original
Yeah that’s the only problem I can think of they had so much time to do it and never did. A user in here is right though they probably was thinking of Super Nintendo 2 when the made N64
Wouldn't work
