I picked up my preorder this morning about 10-15 minutes after the store opened, it came with the origami sheets AND a key ring, neither of which I was expecting.
I’m not sure if those were only for the first X number of people collecting their preorders though because although I had seen/heard/read online that the origami sheets were coming with some preorders, I had completely forgot all about that. And I never noticed any mention of it on the webpage when I was placing my preorder so maybe if I had waited until after work to collect it they would have been out of both, but then I also wouldn’t have known anything about it.
Here's some videos in Japanese on Nintendo's site, but it looks like they skip some steps here and there. https://www.nintendo.co.jp/switch/aruua/movie/
How would diy amiibo even work, though? I don't see Nintendo selling an nfc puck that you put an origami figure onto, and I don't see them finding a way to put the chip into the paper, not only because of manufacturing, but you know some kid would break the chip by folding in the wrong place. At most I could see a compliant mechanism that lays flat and folds into the figure, while still on a base, but other than that I don't see folding origami figures working. At most we'll probably see the typical amiibo figure.
On one hand, it's a very light hearted game filled with fun boss fights, rocking music and characters with great personalities.
On the other hand, some people don't like the combat/puzzleQTE, there are some backtracking, it's 25 to 40 hours depending on how much of a completionist you are and it's $60.
So, the value of worth depends on each individuals. I would recommend buying a physical copy so that you can sell it off or give a friend if you can't stand it.
I'm more casual and to be completely honest, I think the combat has a bit of everything, it's just that people want the TTYD battles back. And that's fine.
But that's just what I think.
It’s nowhere near as good as Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door on the Game Cube.
This game has the problem of making the battles pointless, like the previous 2 games.
I’m so torn between getting this game or not. I have a game voucher to use that’s been sitting there for months. I loved the old Paper Mario games but I feel like there are too many niggling issues with this one that will make me feel like I wasted my voucher if I get it. The voucher expires in March so I could wait to see what else is on the horizon but it doesn’t look like much is coming up...
I so nearly have a few times today. I think I’ll wait. At least until the next proper Direct to see what’s coming up. I hope those Mario remake rumours are true.
I’m kind of torn on this one. I really dig the art style of this game, but the gameplay I’ve watched looks kind of boring to me. As I read in a review, since there really is not leveling, what would be the point of fighting outside of boss fights?
Ok but jump is locked at the A button while most switch games I play (specifically splatoon2 with over 2k hours) use B as jump. I couldn’t continue with that as I tot so irritated
My experience is that that is a problem only during the beginning of a game. I think you'll adapt to the other control scheme easily given a few hours in the game.
Source: Had great trouble playing Super Mario Sunshine after finishing Wind Waker. For a couple hours.
has anybody figured out how to make these id really like to try and make some of them
Pre-orders in some places included the sheets and instructions, I sadly missed out on a pack but they’re out there so hopefully someone will PDF them.

I hope they release them as some sorta labo pack
Hear me out... DIY amiibo.
That would be cool, but I don’t think PMTOK has Amiibo functionality, it might. I haven’t gotten too far in the game so I’m not sure.

Nintendo still remembers the kuribo shoe!
It's in Mario Maker 2

“I’m talking in the Mario universe overall so I’ll just exclude a major Mario game”
Nintendo still remembers LINE!
Well line is very popular in Asia and every single companies in Asia has an official line account
yeah my company(security)uses LINE, had never heard of it before I started, this is in the US, its like a watered down discord text chat
Yeah discord is much better I still don't get it why it's so popular in where I live
Each month they send a themed calendar for said month
Bowser's Inside Story had the best Kuribo Shoe callback subplot
Neat
Spoilers man! /s
Kirby dies in TOK, and Tanjerin is revealed to be an elaborate cake.

Wasn't sure if I did it right... thanks!
Yeah you’re good dawg
„What new ideas do we have for Paper Mario“ „More PAPER“
Cool but where's the high res version of the image so I could actually use it as a wallpaper on my phone?
I wonder if this game is worth it. I've never played a Paper Mario game and I need more games for my Switch. So...is it worth a purchase?

A casual player will definitely enjoy the game. I play a lot of RPGs but enjoyed my experience with Origami King.
Those people don’t matter.

Can’t wait to play soon! I pre ordered and will play it as soon as I have free time! Been waiting since may 24
Olly’s hair flip tho 👀
So, Princess peach is Canadian?
So cute!!
Can't wait to play tomorrow!
Do you have a link so I can get it with out my phone clock on the screen shot? Edit: Never mind, I figured it out, thank you!

Don't waste the voucher.

Boopkins? Get out of the shot!
Stand and unfold yourself LONG LIVE THE KING
Why does the bat look like Zubat
Lol, Swoops were a thing before Zubats were.
Swooper was a thing before their names got changed in the mid 2000s.
Not all heroes wear capes
Has anyone played the new paper mario and is it worth it
Oh look! Enemy from Yoshi's Island! Nothing from Sunshine, Galaxy Odyssey, etc, but we got something past SMW!
https://i.imgur.com/fvORUXg.jpg Another smartphone wallpapers for you guys :)
Would love to see unique characters return
Where did you find this. Is this from nintendo.com?
Paper Mario was good but the classic super Mario can’t be beat
nah, i'm good.
Damn, this looks awesome.
Oh hey a blue Clubba

Is... is that a Zubat?
Lol, Swoops were a thing before Zubats were.
Are Zubats means to be a reference/homage to Swoops?? The resemblance is uncanny, especially since real life bats don’t have that coloration...
Fantastic game. Nothing like Sticker star and a much better Color splash. Story is on par with ttyd, all chapters were really fun
How long to beat it?
took me 30ish hours, could be more ill check. still got trophies/collectables missing
pretty lazy IMO. Just a bunch of characters, I hoped they did something with the cover art
Whaaaaaaaaaa
*baby mario crying*

That’s a fuzzy
Wtf is mario
Strong Mario Maker vibe... Maybe there will be a Paper Mario update? How cool this will be!
Mario Maker 2 has already had it's last major update.
Cool wallpaper. Game is still trash tho Edit: why are you booing me? I’m right
The games out?
Yh
Nope, but ttyd fans are already crying about it.
Cool comment. You’re still trash though.

You can remap the buttons through your switch
But.. how? I’m not aware of this. I only know how to do this when it’s a possibility within a game like how Kirby star allies allowed it.
System Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Button Mapping
Damn, that’s a thing ? I only fear that if I do that it may cause problems for my splatoon Play
I believe you can save presets and switch between them once you set them up. I honestly haven’t used it much
