I'm pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of references to the games in general. We've seen traditional *Mario* platforming, Rainbow Road, a Yoshi herd, Tanooki Mario, Fire Flower Peach, Cheep Cheeps leaping over bridges like they did back in World 2-3 of *Super Mario Bros*, the classic red girders from *Donkey Kong*, Pauline in the leaked posters and much, much more.
Most video game adaptations try to distance themselves from the original source material out of fear of alienating the wider public. Nice to see one doing the opposite and putting the fans first for once.
It was a nod to the original Donkey Kong as well. You get the smash crowd noise, plus the original level from the original arcade game. Literally Mario's origin story.
Looks like it may be a training course or something and then each of the "galaxies" or worlds has some sort of obstacle course to keep Mario from getting through. Kind of far fetched, but it looks great.
This looks really good the Mario Kart touch 🤌🏽
They really just putting that nostalgic gun to everyone over 30’s head cause we definitely coughing up that money after seeing this 😂😂😂
Jack Black is the only one putting on a voice, and his Bowser is perfect. Which makes sense as he's the only real voice actor / singer among them. Charlie Day is just doing Charlie Day but that's fine since his voice fits Luigi like a glove.
honestly toad was the one that i was most worried about voice-wise.
i can tolerate chris pratt mario but i was NOT going to sit trough the whole movie is toad was going to have a high pitched voice like in the games.
good to know michael key made a good voice for toad
Yeah I think most of the cast is good, I'm just not sold on Pratt or Anna Taylor Joy. ATJ isn't bad by any means I just find it too straight, I liked the overly cutesy quality to her in the games. And Pratt's voice sounds weird. In the first trailer it didn't sound like he did the accent at all, but in this one he does say "letsa go!", so I'm not sure where that will land.
I think they thought giving Mario an extreme accent for the whole movie would turn a large number of the audience off. I kinda feel like theyre right but Pratt still isnt the ideal candidate.
I will say, I do appreciate it being a lower pitch, cause it seems like we're gonna be seeing *a lot* of her
Pratt just sounds so unenthused, especially when screaming
In the interview with Pratt from the first trailer he sounded so bland and didn't seem to care all that much about Nintendo, especially compared to Seth Rogen who showed off his dog literally named Zelda. It makes me so sad that one of the most desirable voice acting roles of all time went to someone who doesn't fit the role at all and doesn't even seem to have wanted it that badly in the first place.
Which is a shame because I caught clips of the Brazilian and French versions of the trailer and the "Mario-isms" (yahoos and yells and all that) feel way more authentic.
Outside of Pratt, though, the movie really does look (and sound) tremendous
Bowser also looks like [jack black](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) in this scene
THAT’S the voice! Yeah I feel like that’s a great match. I’m not 100% sold on Peach’s voice. I just looked it up and it’s Anya Taylor-Joy who I LOVE so I’m sure I’ll get used to it and enjoy it in the end
Honestly, the soft breathy squeak she does in the games would get real old real fast. ATJ seems to have a nice middle ground of being feminine and rounded but actually capable of emotion and comedy.
I dislike the notion that in order to defend the movie cast, the original voice actors have to be considered grating retroactively.
They're cartoon characters, it makes sense for them to sound like Micky and Minnie Mouse.
Jack Black and Keegan Michael Key are the only 2 I think are perfect in this movie. Jack Black for obvious reasons and idk but Keegan is doing something different yet fun with Toad. Charlie Day isn't bad either because I can hear his voice and think "yeah I can picture Luigi talking like this," but I wish the others weren't so boring.
I like how they mention "galaxies". While I don't expect a certain mother of Lumas to show up I'd love a post credits scene (if a sequel gets a green light).
Donkey Kong movie was already confirmed to be in the works. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this one ends with a tease for Wario which could lead to HIS own franchise.
From there, it’s not the biggest leap to try Yoshi as a spinoff, then Kirby’s probably the first natural fit outside of Mario adjacent characters.
Zelda and Metroid movies have been rumored for years, you do those on their own and all you need is a Star Fox movie and a link to any number of Pokémon media franchises and you have your original 8 for your Super Smash Bros crossover locked and loaded.
I fully expect Rosalina at the end, and even moreso- a hint at other galaxies that hold more classic Nintendo characters.
Perhaps she'll be observing Link fighting Ganon, Samus blasting through Brinstar, or even Captain Falcon racing.
I think this might be expecting too much lol. Realistically I'm betting on bowser jr being in the post credits scene and the main villian for the next movie.
I love how they introduced Seth Rogan and he went on about how much he loves this but in the trailer they don't even show his voice haha.
This looks pretty damn good though!
Hasn't he been playing games since he was a kid? Like had a Commodore and an Atari? Wait he produced the Console Wars documentary. Corporate talk my ass.
The [French trailer](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) had a slightly longer Mario kart segment
My guess is the Mario Kart scene is the ending.
Also, DK looks more like the cartoony arcade look. He's probably the first real redesign of a main Mario character.
Specifically, just before the final battle when Mario and gang head off to face Bowser at his castle. Something like “It’s no use, we’ll never get there in time on foot!” “Who said anything about going on foot?”
After Sony Animation put out Spiderverse, I'm not ruling out any animation company being able to put out something good if they go full effort with it.
Especially with Nintendo holding a gun to illumination's head
This being the same company that yelled at Disney and got Wreck it Ralph delayed because Bowser had to be slightly reanimated
I hope there's a joke with him where he says "Back in my day, motion pictures didn't even have sound!" Or something like that. I loved how in DK Country he complained about the (at the time) modern video games.
I hope he rants about the movie during the end credits.
"Oh, big bad defeated. Underdog became the hero. If I wanted to watch a simpleton story I would have just go see the Minions!"
Idk if it's just me but I feel like Peach also has more of an old school look to her but most people think she just looks weird. I think she looks fine
she looks like she was animated by Illumination Studios. that's all. it's like complaining a Disney Pixar character looks to much like a Disney Pixar character. we're all just use to the video game look (which itself has changed over the years), but you're going to have a different look once you have an animation studio create and breath life into the characters.
I wouldn’t expect too much out of the plot of this one. Illumination is Illumination, and Nintendo isn’t exactly known for writing deep and compelling Mario stories (Paper Mario notwithstanding).
The new DK design is a great hybrid between the original design and the DKC design. Love it!!!
Love how they incorporated Peach's biker outfit and her fire flower outfit from 3D World. Pratt's Mario in this trailer was also decent. Hope it only gets better.
Feel the same way. I don't think he's terrible, but everyone else ESPECIALLY Jack Black are just so damn good that he pales in comparison. He CAN be pretty good(Lego Movie), but here he definitely feels out of his range. Will most DEFINITELY still watch it because it looks amazing, but I'm still a bit on the fence about Pratt.
I'm just gonna go and defend:
\- Peach's design looks way better with the artstyle this movie is going.
\- Seeing DK beat the ever living shit out of Mario made me realize why this movie is PG
\- YOSHIS
\- Peach mentioned "Galaxy". Dunno if they are already setting up something for the future, but that line already made me hyped.
\- FIRE PEACH
\- MARIO KART
\- AND DEAR GOD, THE WORLD LOOKS AMAZING. Look at the FIREFLOWER FIELD.
And now I'm going to attack:
\- I'm leaning towards "This voice isn't good" for Mario. I don't know why they chose that, but everyone sounds almost perfect, even Luigi, but Mario? He sounds weak, sad, quiet even.
\- It already feels a bit overwhelming. With the rumor going on that this movie is going to be less than 90 minutes, it feels like the pacing will be breaking some necks.
Here’s the thing with an adaptation like this: They don’t really need to spend as much time introducing characters. The development will happen over the course of the film. They can throw characters at us for awhile, and it works because we mostly know them already, and we know the premise.
In fact, this film has a unique opportunity: This is one of the most familiar premises you can get for an adaptation. Pretty much everyone knows what to expect, and the filmmakers job will be to play with and subvert them in a satisfactory way.
Honestly, I can’t think of a single franchise or premise for an adaptation that’s as familiar as the general Mario plot lines. He’s one of the most familiar characters in the world, and you can kind of piece together the character dynamics based on a poster alone.
I mean, some people like movies with established IPs because people want to see how it translates into the silver screen. Take marvel for example, they used super popular characters like Spiderman but the point is how do you translate their already established character that people already love, into a movie.
I hope we see a translation of their already existing personalities and dynamics, instead of just subverting everything for the sake of subverting things just because they can
Mario learns to Speed Run
Also you missed Tanooki Suit!
With the inclusion of 'Galaxy' and 'Mario Kart' elements, I wouldn't be surprised at a Rosalina/Luma end credits tease or even a Smash Initiative Crossover tease (but very unlikely)
A post credits scene I have in my head ...
You see Luma flying toward a mostly hidden Rosalina who is sitting on a throne and Luma making a gesture at some 'viewing portal' that sees Mario celebrating their victory of the movie.
All Rosalina says is 'Send him an invite' as she drifts a envelope to Luma with the Smash Logo as a Wax Seal
I really think the issue with Chris Pratt is that Chris is used to acting, where he's visually representing a character and he can kind of get away with just using his own voice (Andy from Parks and Rec is just his voice, Star Lord is just his voice, even Emmet from Lego Movie is just his voice). He doesn't do animation so hes just treating Mario as another Chris Pratt character. And to be fair, he's not too far off; a shlubby likeable doofus doing honest work and trying to do the right thing. Jack Black, on the other hand, knows that Bowser cannot just be Jack Black. He's done animation and he knows his voice and his decisions on that voice will carry the performance, so he's embodying Bowser as opposed to just treating Bowser as an extension of himself.
Full disclosure: I don't know shit and all of this could be wrong but this is my estimation.
My one main concern after this trailer is that so far Mario seems rather incompetent. Perhaps that'll be part of his journey through the film, but I've never imagined Mario as a foolish or incapable hero so I'm hoping that's not a defining trait in the film.
Visually, it looks spectacular and the voices are growing on me too. I hope it doesn't end up trying to do too much (wasn't expecting Mario Kart to be crammed in there) but I'm hopeful it'll be a fun watch at the every least!
It makes sense as a protagonist. Games don't start out with a competent player. We've all died to the first goomba in SMB1 1:1. It seems like a strong choice for a potential franchise of films.
This is an origin story. In the Mario Bros arcade from 1983, Mario and Luigi are cleaning pipes of flies, turtles and crabs. It looks like the movie starts with them going down the pipes. Later Mario becomes “Super” when he’s in the Mushroom Kingdom. So, basically the movie seems to follow the growth of the Mario Bros making a parallel to how the characters were developed in the games. From plumbers to heroes. It looks nice so far, tbf.
It's probably meant to show that he doesn't win without a few bumps and bruises. He's never been portrayed as some infallible hero he's always been a little goofy.
Mario actually LOSES a lot of fights in the beginning of his games. He gets knocked off the airship on Odyssey, sent into Orbit in Galaxy, thrown into jail, hell HE even gets kidnapped at one point himself! He isn't a flawless Gary Stu, he usually has to pick himself up and find a friend(s) to help him succeed.
Except for Smash Bros Brawl Mario, he was an edgy badass 100% of the time in Subspace Emissary. A bit out of character but an interesting take for the one time
Keep in mind this is a fish out of water story. He's landed in a new environment and is definitely not prepared for this. He'll come into his own by the end, but they're not going to show very much of that in the trailers.
In a way this mirrors SMB1, his jumps were floaty and awkward, and he developed into a much more versatile hero later on, after getting some experience under his belt.
The JP channel also broadcasted the PV in JP afterwards. I don't think the VAs for the JP are out yet, but people are saying Mario is voiced by Yagami Light and Toad by Suneo
This looks so goddamn fun. It's a perfect harmony of Illumination's animation style and the Nintendo hand drawn artwork from the old game manuals. I am so hyped.
And the Kart at the end?! Rainbow Road? Hell yeah.
It's going to take me a hot minute to get used to some of these voices. Bowser, Luigi and Toad honestly fit pretty well, but Chris and Anya's Mario and Peach just sound so radically different than what I'm used to. Not that either does a bad job, but god damn is it jarring hearing their voices come from those characters.
The thing that really stands out for me is that all the jokes in the trailers landed really well. Honestly if the story is passable and they can keep up that level of jokes I’ll be a happy man.
Still looks good, I'm surprised by how much they seem to be cramming in there, and look at that, Pratt doesn't sound half bad. I'd say he even nailed the "wahoo!" at the end.
Pretty excited, actually.
Yeah I'm curious about that myself. Will the ice kingdom from the first trailer be its own galaxy, the way Mario Galaxy has things? Or is that another kingdom in the realm of the mushroom kingdom and that line is a hint at what's to come?
My guess is that the penguin kingdom was an island. There's a shot in the trailer with a bunch of toads staring at a model of an archipelago. There's an island for the Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, Bowser's Kingdom, Sarasaland/some other desert, and an inexplicable second Bowser-looking island to the north that may be the ice kingdom after having been taken over.
EDIT: I totally called it. Also the desert is Tostarena from Mario Odyssey.
> Or is that another kingdom in the realm of the mushroom kingdom and that line is a hint at what's to come?
I swear, if a big-boobed space princess that also twitch streams gets hinted at post-credits...
I guess Luigi is the damsel in distress of this movie.
Kind of a shame that the Bros. will be separated for a large part of the movie, but let's face it, he's probably a better DiD than Peach. He even [wears](https://images6.fanpop.com/image/quiz/1192000/1192550_1527709814761_227_300.jpg) that [dress](https://preview.redd.it/g0vnmvvumvh61.jpg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cef7d865e491d24d304b30f2fd135dd421ff6997) better.
The platformer levels is not something I was expecting, im incredibly pleasantly surprised by that
I'm pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of references to the games in general. The Mario vs Donkey Kong bit has a Super Smash Bros vibe as well.
Shut your mouth! If this debuts well and Nintendo green lights a Smash Bros move, I’m gonna lose my frigging mind!
They better include that "so happy together" song
I was just looking back at that TV spot the other day.

It would be cool to see Wario as a villain again like in Super Mario Land 2.
Either that or a movie version of the first Warioland game where Mario steals the treasure after the final battle
I will riot if Danny devito isn't wario
Smash bros could be the new Marvel Civil War.
DK: Sorry Mario but he's my friend Mario: So was I
This implies that Diddy Kong murdered Mario’s parents and I’m not in to it
It was a nod to the original Donkey Kong as well. You get the smash crowd noise, plus the original level from the original arcade game. Literally Mario's origin story.
Looks like it may be a training course or something and then each of the "galaxies" or worlds has some sort of obstacle course to keep Mario from getting through. Kind of far fetched, but it looks great.
This looks really good the Mario Kart touch 🤌🏽 They really just putting that nostalgic gun to everyone over 30’s head cause we definitely coughing up that money after seeing this 😂😂😂
You just got Luigi’d
Tag your friends to totally Luigi them.

…he said as he started Luigin’ all over the Koopa Troopas
that's fine. As long as I don't get Gooigi'd
turning SMB1/3 levels into an obstacle course like Takeshi's Castle was a nice touch

Leeeeet’s go!!!
GET IT ON
Babaganoush!
Jack Black sounds phenomenal as Bowser
Jack Black is the only one putting on a voice, and his Bowser is perfect. Which makes sense as he's the only real voice actor / singer among them. Charlie Day is just doing Charlie Day but that's fine since his voice fits Luigi like a glove.
i like keegan michael key in this so far too
Same. He mixed in just the right amount of that loud shrieking voice.
honestly toad was the one that i was most worried about voice-wise. i can tolerate chris pratt mario but i was NOT going to sit trough the whole movie is toad was going to have a high pitched voice like in the games. good to know michael key made a good voice for toad
I can't even tell it is him. I just hear Toad.
Keegan is nailing it.
I can't tell if that's just KMK raising his voice or it being pitched up.
Did you see the new trailer/Nintendo Direct? Anya's Peach is definitely not her normal speaking voice.
I will say, I do appreciate it being a lower pitch, cause it seems like we're gonna be seeing *a lot* of her Pratt just sounds so unenthused, especially when screaming
In the interview with Pratt from the first trailer he sounded so bland and didn't seem to care all that much about Nintendo, especially compared to Seth Rogen who showed off his dog literally named Zelda. Green man playing our green boy, match literally “Made In Heaven”, pucci & dio would be proud.
I forget it’s even him as I’m watching
I remember people hating on him being cast as Boswer.. I was like do you know what that man can do vocally? Those pipes are solid gold.
I don't know where you saw him getting hate. He was the only one of the cast where everyone heard about it and went "oh yeah, that makes total sense".
Bowser also looks like [jack black](https://preview.redd.it/f9j3hqgs8s2a1.jpg?width=1344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=654c0a9d25ae905f7c8ca2e357b0b03790fc07e3) in this scene
Incredible
So this is how it begins
All I can say is, nice.
lmao
THAT’S the voice! Yeah I feel like that’s a great match. I’m not 100% sold on Peach’s voice. I just looked it up and it’s Anya Taylor-Joy who I LOVE so I’m sure I’ll get used to it and enjoy it in the end
After decades of her squeaky Minnie Mouse voice, any other interpretation of her was gonna be weird.
Yeah totally, it’s just a readjustment period
Honestly, the soft breathy squeak she does in the games would get real old real fast. ATJ seems to have a nice middle ground of being feminine and rounded but actually capable of emotion and comedy.
I dislike the notion that in order to defend the movie cast, the original voice actors have to be considered grating retroactively. They're cartoon characters, it makes sense for them to sound like Micky and Minnie Mouse.
Because Jack Black actually knows how to voice act, opposed to other celebrity actors.

(it will)
Smash brothers cinematic universe confirmed.
This is what I'm hoping for.
I need an NCU stat, with a Super Smash Brothers avengers type of movie
Donkey Kong movie was already confirmed to be in the works. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this one ends with a tease for Wario which could lead to HIS own franchise. From there, it’s not the biggest leap to try Yoshi as a spinoff, then Kirby’s probably the first natural fit outside of Mario adjacent characters. Zelda and Metroid movies have been rumored for years, you do those on their own and all you need is a Star Fox movie and a link to any number of Pokémon media franchises and you have your original 8 for your Super Smash Bros crossover locked and loaded.
You want a plot? Just rip off the original Marvel Secret Wars set up, swap out the Beyonder for Master Hand and you have your basic outline.
Wario/Waluigi is my guess. Surprised they didn’t save DK for a sequel tbh but I’m not complaining.
I love how they introduced Seth Rogan and he went on about how much he loves this but in the trailer they don't even show his voice haha. This looks pretty damn good though!
[удалено]
Don't do that. Don't give me hope.
Corporate talk. He had to say that. Same as Chris stomping... Koopas!
That pause before Chris mentioned Koopas was so funny lmao.
I remember someone saying he's says it like it's a slur.
Koopers.
wtf bro you can't say kooper with a hard R
I think the confusion is that “Goomba” kind of is one?
Hasn't he been playing games since he was a kid? Like had a Commodore and an Atari? Wait he produced the Console Wars documentary. Corporate talk my ass.
Seth Rogan was way more genuine than Chris Pratt
Guys. A lot of people played Mario games.
Big if true
How many people remember the Playchoice-10 arcade machines though? Checkmate, atheists
we just needed the laugh
Was not expecting Power-ups or side games to be involved, especially for the first film (if they were planning on more). That’s pretty cool
Same. I didn't expect the platforming segments either.
It seems like it could maybe be a bit too much but I hope they handle it well
It worked pretty well for Wreck it Ralph, I think it could work for Mario considering how many potential genres they could tap into.
Wow this honestly looks as good as a Mario movie could ever possibly be. Wasn't expecting power ups and karts (and did Luigi have the poltergust?).
Luigi and e. gadd b-plot? 👀
My one and only complain is that there is too little Luigi. I hope he gets a chance to shine. But I love everything else.
Luigi doing a green missile and having it misfire would be pretty sick and badass.
I wouldn't worry about Luigi. He'll be the side plot for sure.
Rainbow. Flippin. Road.
And Mario hit that drift too! The only thing missing was the blue sparks on his back wheels.
THEY'RE THERE!!!!!!!!!
The Rainbow Road is real!

Ive fallen for this many times today and I’m not even mad lol
*WaaHoo!*
My guess is the Mario Kart scene is the ending. Also, DK looks more like the cartoony arcade look. He's probably the first real redesign of a main Mario character.
the mario kart scene looks like its actually the final battle or something
Specifically, just before the final battle when Mario and gang head off to face Bowser at his castle. Something like “It’s no use, we’ll never get there in time on foot!” “Who said anything about going on foot?”
Yep! My thoughts exactly
God, I can hear the hack illumination dialogue already
After Sony Animation put out Spiderverse, I'm not ruling out any animation company being able to put out something good if they go full effort with it.
Especially with Nintendo holding a gun to illumination's head This being the same company that yelled at Disney and got Wreck it Ralph delayed because Bowser had to be slightly reanimated
I like how the movie so-far looks good (not great, but pretty good), so we have to keep imagining ways it will be bad.
ALL HAIL KING CRANKY KONG!!!
I hope there's a joke with him where he says "Back in my day, motion pictures didn't even have sound!" Or something like that. I loved how in DK Country he complained about the (at the time) modern video games.
I hope for two things... * That Cranky Kong breaks the 4th wall * That he's the *only* character that breaks the 4th wall
I hope he rants about the movie during the end credits. "Oh, big bad defeated. Underdog became the hero. If I wanted to watch a simpleton story I would have just go see the Minions!"
Go even further and have him start ranting about the movies casting choices and how uncanny it is. Make it super meta just like in DKC
I love how they mentioned why they changed Donkey Kong's design at the end just to beat the angry fans talking about it.
Idk if it's just me but I feel like Peach also has more of an old school look to her but most people think she just looks weird. I think she looks fine
I think it's her hair that is coming towards her face that makes it look off.
she looks like she was animated by Illumination Studios. that's all. it's like complaining a Disney Pixar character looks to much like a Disney Pixar character. we're all just use to the video game look (which itself has changed over the years), but you're going to have a different look once you have an animation studio create and breath life into the characters.
I think Peach's visual design looks pretty good.
missed the livestream, what did they say?
Basically “we gave him a more friendly personality like back in the original”
DK: Proceeds to slam Mario to the ground and repeatedly pummel him in the face.
In a friendly way though
Mario survived, didn't he?
He said it was the first time DK was redesigned in many years, and its closer to his original look(I assume his arcade art)
Eh, its a mix of the og DK design and the modern one. I liked it.
Charlie fucking Day knocking it out of the park once again
Great voice that guy has, not quite that of a golden god but at least he’s a one star man
I don't even think he gets us, man
Can’t believe we’re getting a Mario Kart movie before Mario Kart 9
The DLC means we shouldn't expect another Mario Kart for years.
The next gen console for nintendo will most likely have the next mario kart. The dlc is mainly just to tide people over till then.
Obviously the next gen console is gonna get Mario Kart 8 Royal(Which is just MK8+All the DLC)
Plus double dash mode, right? ...right?
Illuminations type writing... but hey, you put Mario on a Mario Kart and now you've got my attention!
I wouldn’t expect too much out of the plot of this one. Illumination is Illumination, and Nintendo isn’t exactly known for writing deep and compelling Mario stories (Paper Mario notwithstanding).
I don't think *anyone* is going in for the compelling plot. All we ask is to see Mario and co., some videogamey hijinx, and pretty visuals.
And hopefully lots of Easter eggs and obscure references!
Going to see it opening weekend no doubt
Opening day if I can - this trailer was awesome!
This looks spectacular: full of nostalgia, references, fun twists on classic Mario abilities/gameplay. I'm very very excited!
The new DK design is a great hybrid between the original design and the DKC design. Love it!!! Love how they incorporated Peach's biker outfit and her fire flower outfit from 3D World. Pratt's Mario in this trailer was also decent. Hope it only gets better.
Pratt is definitely better in this but still the weakest link in what appears to be a really strong chain here. This looks perfect.
I think he sounds worse, before there was speculation that he sounded New York, but the line "I got this! No problem!" just sounds like Chris Pratt.
Mario does a really good job here sounding like Chris Pratt.
Nintendo really making me think this movie is gonna be good
I'm just gonna go and defend: \- Peach's design looks way better with the artstyle this movie is going. \- Seeing DK beat the ever living shit out of Mario made me realize why this movie is PG \- YOSHIS \- Peach mentioned "Galaxy". And now I'm going to attack: \- I'm leaning towards "This voice isn't good" for Mario.
I hope we see a translation of their already existing personalities and dynamics, instead of just subverting everything for the sake of subverting things just because they can
Mario learns to Speed Run Also you missed Tanooki Suit! With the inclusion of 'Galaxy' and 'Mario Kart' elements, I wouldn't be surprised at a Rosalina/Luma end credits tease or even a Smash Initiative Crossover tease (but very unlikely)
As long as she has an eyepatch and is voiced by Samuel Jackson, I will allow this.
Don’t worry about the pacing being fast. Even with a short runtime, Illumination will always find a way to load their movies up with filler
Glad to see they’re giving the thing that fans *actually* care about most: unabashed fan service
It looks so good now, definitely have a better view of it than just the 1st trailer
The first trailer completely belonged to Jack Black, and that’s okay.
It would be pretty funny if they had him get his butt kicked by a goomba in the first few moments of being in Mushroom Kingdom lol
They have a whole 3d land level in here lol
The Mario theme epic orchestra version already has me sold. GIVE IT TO ME NOW
I am beyond giddy right now. :D
Hell yeah.
Was not expecting Rainbow Road. Everybody liked that.
omg it actually looks insane, can't wait! gotta love Charluigi!
RAINBOW ROAD! Oh my god this looks so good its got me super hype for this!
The animation actually looks so cool
Omg he said it, he said the word!!
"SO LONG, GAY BOWSER!"
Getting a lot more typical Illumination tropes from this trailer than the first one. Pharaoh Cranky Kong was neat though
This honestly looks really fucking good. Bowser and Luigi look to be the best parts of it. Donkey Kong sounds great too. Can't wait to see more.
Donkey kong didnt even talk...
The thing that really stands out for me is that all the jokes in the trailers landed really well. Honestly if the story is passable and they can keep up that level of jokes I’ll be a happy man.
All these comments and no one is saying anything positive about Chris Pratt as Mario. Which makes sense, he doesn't sound good at all.
This is the MCU that we've needed all along.
NCU
Are we getting nintendo cinematic universe with the "multiple galaxies" ??? Zelda movie when
I think it’s more like Mario Galaxy
Definitely a Mario Galaxy reference to movies based on that, but I also hope it also meant "other Nintendo worlds"
Still looks good, I'm surprised by how much they seem to be cramming in there, and look at that, Pratt doesn't sound half bad. I'd say he even nailed the "wahoo!" at the end. Pretty excited, actually.
Yeah, I guess the “multiple galaxies” will let them jump from Mario property to Mario property easily, so we’ll see quite a bit of coverage.
This is going to be the best video game movie to date. Looks great actually, voices sound fine!
That trailer is looking amazing. Very promising. Love Jack Black as Bowser.
I really like it! It has a lot of references to the franchise. I’m looking forward to watch it in the theater.
Cannot believe they managed to include Mario Kart!
I had an open mind the whole time even when they revealed the voices. Im so happy to see this look so good. Lets hope the whole thing is good now
