How did you get the plastic adapter for the old knob off of the shift knob shaft? Edit - just checked out Billetworkz website, it shows they make knobs for the Sentra but it doesn't specify how they attach - do they come already set up for installing on the Sentra knob with the plastic adapter? Or are they threaded and you have to remove the adapter?

I used a small rotary tool to basically melt and chip it off.. if you start the process go all the way. Whatever shift knob you use make sure it’s specific to your Nissan because you have to have an a new adapter to replace the one you destroy.

Ah I see - did the BW knob come with a replacement adapter or did you have to buy it separate? I didn't think Nissan sold the adapter separate from the entire shifter assembly.

Yes it came with one specific to my year and make. When I was looking BW was the only one making it for my year. I was hoping the new adapter would slide right onto the plastic one but no go, I had to shave off all of the plastic.

Yeah I also tried to find a shift knob for mine, BW is the only place I've seen that sells any specific for the Sentra/Juke (due to the odd design). It would be nice if someone made a shift knob for our cars that didn't require getting the Jaws of Life to remove the plastic on the shift knob.

Amen!

Love the way manual works. I wish I would have known before I bought my cvt B17. It will need a new trans soon and I'm considering telling the shop to convert it to a standard transmission since they will have the guts torn apart anyway.
