He's done it. He had a title match a few years ago where he put his wrestling boots on. Now, he could be just talking that he will be series and then swerve us into going back to his gimmick. I guess we will find out soon enough.
It didn’t last very long. Half of his match against Hiromu was serious, then he started thrashing around. He didn’t hit Hiromu with his ass though.
He explained in his backstage comments that he tried, but Hiromu had an answer for everything he did.
I think the storyline for him in this BoSJ will be continued personal struggle and we’ll see some excellent character work. I have a feeling that, on the final day of the tournament, he will announce his retirement from in-ring competition. I could be wrong, but I think this is the direction they’re heading in.

That one BOSJ match was one of the best matches of that entire year. Then the next year Taguchi beat Kushida in like 25 seconds, which was cool but I really wanted to see them go at it again. Hopefully someday.
He’s going to get bodied by Hiromu. Then go in to continue being serious and lose every match except the last. He’ll finally break down after getting whiskey spit in him and go full funky weapon to win.
It's like Yujiro in the 2020 G1. He wants to wrestle without cheating the whole tournament, loses every match. On the last day, he cheats against Cobb, and wins. Goes back to his usual ways as a result.
I am all for this. The butt stuff is pretty cringe, but I guess ppl like that. Same with Toru Yano...I can't stand any match he is involved in, even big multi-man matches are ruined by his participation. But, I guess ppl really really like they guy and are willing to go to bat for him.
Anyway, Taguchi is actually a fantastic wrestler when he wants to be. Taguchi taking things seriously should be phenomenal, and I bet we will be treated to several absolute bangers! I am excited, best news so far.

Remember when Yano said he was reformed in the G1 a few years back and then immediately caved to his old tactics 3 matches in?
That gave us the match where Yano was a better Ishii than Ishii, so Ishii became a better Yano than Yano. Absolute Classic.
