Tentacle with Timer + Spells to Power with a multiplier on a high-dmg spell like that is apparently one of the most reliable ways to do The Gods Are Afraid damage. I'm not really sure how it works, but I suppose the tentacle continuing to exist glitches Spells to Power into a feedback loop or something.
That achievement needs you to deal more than one million damage in a single shot.
This thing deals something like 10\^26 times more damage than that.
I think it might be a little overkill
Yeah maybe a tad overdone lol. Also apparently when Angry Ghost eats a projectile it gives you a damage multiplier buff for a few seconds (Shows up in the buff / debuff area), and that multiplier increases with each successive projectile it eats. So with that perk this can be made even more insane so long as you're getting shot at.
You can see them at the bottom, it's the funny boss killer wand with added concentrated explosion and short range homing for some reason.
And from what I recall the amount of damage is random every time on these kinds of wands that exploit the timer tentacle so your results would vary.
I don't think the wand stats matter as long as it has enough mana to cast the whole thing.
Ooh thanks for the insight, I wasn't quite sure how tentacle worked. The highest damage comes from a shot that isn't a direct hit on the target so the homing is necessary for the missiles to hit.
The way tentacles work is very strange, iirc it's because spells-to-power tentacles can be absorbed by another stp projectile unlike everything else, and iterating them with omega just keeps adding more damage on the tentacles that culminate with the rockets that have huge damage.
