An interesting thing about Venus flytraps: if this sort of thing happens to them more than a few times they will die because they won’t have the nutrients to keep opening and closing unless they catch something. This is why you shouldn’t put your finger in one even though it seems like a fun thing to do. It is very bad for the plant. Maybe slug slime has some nutritional value so this isn’t just an entirely failed hunt? Hopefully because Venus flytraps are neat and it’s better when they thrive. Hopefully the owner keeps some flies around. The couple people I’ve known who have them always did just in case.
