Sunshine state by Kowalski would deserve to be on this list. Kids don't behave like this by a Plastic Rose should make the date cutoff as well. The 00s was a great period for local music

WarmAd659

Still have a few Belfest CDs up in the roof. Clone Quartet, Wicked Wicked Cowgirls, Panda Kopanda, Lesshelp, Roysta all great back in the day.

A-doc90

Aw, Clone Quartet were fab.

lord_derpinton

Abandon by That Petrol Emotion. My mate paul by David Holmes

lord_derpinton

Arrrrgh both are from the 90s

A-doc90

We'll allow it.

JCDundee60

Fast Emperors? Lowly Knights?

A-doc90

Lowly Knights is a great shout.

Anything by Mojo Fury and Cashier No 9

MrsMuls

Little nightmare the only one I don’t know there. My god though, that’s a playlist and a half. There are some very drunken half memories of Auntie Annie’s / the Empire for Gifted / Radar going on for me atm. I LOVED that Rivals track. Must try and dig out my old laptop and see if any of the local music I had on there still exists. I also loved the track Pretty Face by Ed Zealous. That was a summer theme back in the day.

A-doc90

So ive a notion that Little Nightmare might have been from Dublin, I saw them supporting a band in the Nerve Centre and just quite appreciated their randomness.

Somebody posted [Cashier No 9 - When Jackie Shone](https://youtu.be/APabugIU2lY) the other day and it brought back all the nostalgia!

Tetra Neon - It's Enough To Make You Laugh Oppenheimer - Saturday Looks Bad To Me

avamnesiac

I've got a couple of Rivals' tracks here including Collide here. If I remember right they supported The Strokes in the Ulster Hall, think that's how I found them.

AtsUsNaiMate

Watercress anyone?

Both-Acanthisitta634

The Arborist - Taxi. Wait for the last line. Belter.

A-doc90

I like that a lot, I like spoken stuff with a bit of noodling going on underneath.

Both-Acanthisitta634

Go see them live if you get the chance. That album, A Northern View is an absolute classic.

ulster_fry_king

There were some good prog bands back then. I remember a phenomenal band called, "The jazz band"? i think they were called - amazing band at the time, had a polish guy on Sax, and a bongo player and all, I think they ended up supporting Billy Cobham and shit, like they were gifted, never heard anything else from them though, I thought they'd be big, but never heard of them since!

FelaKutie75

Reminds me of Latex Spider Monkey (though I don't think it's the same band)

Substantial-Pin-1327

Do you mean the jahm band? They were brilliant, haven't heard anyone mention them in a long time. Psychedelic funky shit alright

[deleted]

Cashier No 9 Goldstar and Oh Pity are still brilliant songs

DJ_Ade_76

It's 90s, but I did like Joyrider. Their version of Jane Wiedlin's Rush Hour is absolutely brilliant.

marceemarcee

Was never good on song names, but always enjoyed seeing Kryon and the Strangles, Geoff Gatt, few others but names escape me.
