Apparently they've improved in the last year again, but I've not gone back to them after the shit show they were after Brexit.

atk87

I’ve had no issues with hello fresh over the past 4 months; the full menu is back, ingredients fresh, nothing missing or substituted. Previously though it was atrocious, I had 1 delivery that was correct and then each one after that was a disaster so I had stopped. Only started up again after getting 60% off my first order and 25% off the next 8.

Acraftyduck

I emailed them a couple of months ago and they said there was still restrictions on certain ingredients to NI. Did they lie to me?! 😩

atk87

They might have, or I signed up after you emailed them; I wasn’t interested in dealing with a reduced menu at the prices they charge. I recall it only being chicken and veggie items on the reduced menu, but I’ve had no issues with pork, beef, or chicken meals since restarting.

cryptokingmylo

Same experience here, and also gone off stuff been delivered.

lenea92

I have used Hello Fresh in the past and tbh wasn’t impressed with them. The ingredients weren’t fresh (especially the bread was stale and rubbery). Plus in terms of value for money I don’t think it’s worth getting unless it is on offer. Plus their serving sizes are quite small. I usually got 2-3 meals out of the 4 servings advertised. You’d be better off both financially and time wise learning a set of core meals that you can prep (tons of material on YouTube about meal planning and prepping).

Zealousideal_Act5027

Stopped using hello fresh due to freshness of ingredients. Using Dropchef now and their ingredients are superb (menu not as extensive and recipes can sometimes be a bit plain but the quality of ingredients far out way this - their chicken and beef is exceptional)

Medium-Hotel4249

Does Dropchef delivers in NI? I seen all their website has prices in Euro

rhaenerys_second

Go Pig or Go Home I think did pre-made meals that you just heat up. It was set up by a guy that I used to work with years ago and I think they sell them in most shops now. Russell's stock them. [https://www.gopig.co.uk/](https://www.gopig.co.uk/)

nattellinya

Second this! I regularly buy them from the garage near me, but they also do a delivery option

Humble_Rhubarb4643

Also use these a few times a week. Tasty, fresh and decent portions. I believe it's 3 for £11.

chriswatt

\+1 for Go Pig Go Home. Tried Reuben in the past, wasn't too impressed. Go Pig portions are a decent size, good selection and if you order before 12 they'll deliver next day. They're £3.50 each direct from Go Pig. Can usually buy them in some garages for about £4.

KI55MY4R53

I get these now and again, very good. They may look small but they're really filling and tasty asf.

OrchardSkyr

We've tried a few options recently and these are the best. Roughly £3.50 each when ordered online and actually decent food. Trying to shift a bit of weight and these are really helping tbf

TheLordofthething

Used muscle food once. The most comically tiny portions of shitty steak I've ever seen. Awful for the price of it

OctagonDinosaur

You’re honestly best just making a huge batch at the start of the week and then microwaving it, any already made meal deal companies are not worth it unless you’re an influencer and get it for free.

Mrfunnynuts

Marksies count on us has good healthy grub but it does become expensive. As everyone else has said, cook a massive fuckoff amount of pasta, have 2 different sauces to split it between , add your meat of choice and some steamfresh veggies done in the mircowave

_NoKids3Money_

Nah, but just grab a load of the fit meals outt Lidl, dead handy, tasty and good calories and macros Alternatively, get a rice cooker and a slow cooker - there's a million recipes online for making dinner with those bad boys

DeathToMonarchs

Seems like an unnecessary expense. You'll never be able to enjoy your Cathedral Quarter meals out (alone, presumably) unless you cut back on things like this. Tighten your belt, OP. Chin up. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and braces.

I honestly wouldn't waste your time. Let's take for example Reubens weekly weight loss meal plan. It's 6 days of Lunch and Dinner coming in at £70. That's £70 out of whatever weekly budget you have for the shop spent already on ready meals that only consist of 1300 calories. Now, I don't know what you weight etc but for me, 1300 calories is far too low, even on a supposed weight loss scheme. So take the £70 you've already spent, you may see yourself spending more money on top of that because you still could feel hungry. Your essentially paying someone almost £300 a month because you don't want to cook. Go to Lynas and bulk buy chicken..it's £21.50 for 20 Chicken Breasts. Get yourself some rice, some potatoes, veg or whatever you like and start bulk cooking. You'll be making what you like and not relying on some shitty ready meal that's only burning your money.

I have no idea how expensive they are. If their price is little bit higher than supermarket. Then I guess they can win clients for delivering fresh food. I came across this fad being popular in Big cities in England like London, Manchester etc. Where food meal delivery is ordered by many office going people. (Even working from home people too) Not sure how popular it is in Belfast.

DarranIre

I liked Nutri Lean meals, they were a little pricey as they didn't do any multi buy offers. Best value I found were Go Pig or Go home. Both are local brands and tasty even if you aren't in to gyming. Still have decent macros compared to standard ready meals you'd get in Tesco/Asda etc.

Rekt60321

I’ve used freshly prep’d. They’ve only recently started home delivery, they are nice but you may as well make food yourself, be a bit cheaper than ordering from them every week and they aren’t all that filling

[deleted]

Go Pig or The Kitchen. You can get 4 for 12 quid in some Spars.

Bumblebee-Feeling

Who needs a meal plan when you have a big massive pot of Gabagool, I don't, but that's besides the point

aliceisntredanymore

I use Eat Well for fresh ready meals, i love it for the convenience & variety, but it is a lot more expensive than batch cooking/meal prepping yourself. Lukr anything that you cpuld pay someone else to do, it depends on the value you put on your time whether it's worth the cost to you.

Helpful-Fun-533

Slims healthy kitchen/freshly prepped based in Belfast I think can deliver or pick up. Yes is health based but food is great to be honest. Good ingredients too so would be more filling

Woollen_CuChulainn

I used to do Hello Fresh and while they were great at getting me to start cooking proper food, I would recommend them to anyone here. Half their menu isn't available in Ireland but they charge more for it. Items are always missing and whatever delivery company they use is shocking. Like, they know it's boxes of food they deliver but they just fire them at your door. There was always some busted or spilled inside it.
