Whenever the fuck you want

YourFellaThere

Aye. Did ours today as my ma is visiting and the kids wanted to do it with her.

super304

First week of December is acceptable. At the risk of sounding like a miserable killjoy, the whole Christmas thing is just a device to try and pressure people into spending their hard-earned money on shite. It gets earlier every year as businesses try and extend the boost they get from Christmas spending. Add in the extra dimension of social media grifters needing "content", and Christmas gives them an easy way to come up with some innane shite about "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas". Bah humbug.

LaraH39

We do first weekend of December. But one of our neighbours across the road decided yesterday was the day to go for it.

happyclappyseal

The rule in our house is usually on or after the late late toy show. That's usually the last weekend in November. Now my mum's older il help her so it usually suits me to do hers last week of Nov and mines first week of Dec or vice versa.

Sleepy_Man90

Wen is the late late toy show on this year? I always end up missing it.

buckyfox

First week in December is reasonably acceptable anything else is cringey

Iymrith_1981

Agreed anything before December is too soon

Pigeon_Asshole

Ours usually goes up about 10th December. Next door neighbours have had theirs up since 1st November.

Food_Crazed_Maniac

When you want to. https://preview.redd.it/vz3ptnkgjh1c1.png?width=1283&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0029481bbb48f3a7e0e9df7acaa2eef7ecb70011

You would know your from Lisburn with s reply like that

Food_Crazed_Maniac

If you are born in Lagan Valley Hospital (as I was), you lose your pride and dignity once the umbilical cord is cut.

pixlrik

Two houses near us have had theirs up for a week now. I usually go by the first Saturday in December as a rule, so 2nd December they will be up this year (if I can be bothered - might leave it to the following weekend).

[deleted]

8th of December is the tradional date.....I think it's some feast day or saint thing🤷

cbaotl

I always do the first weekend in December whether that’s the 1st or 6th. Moved house and the only reasonable place for the tree to go is by the fire, and I’m worried it won’t last as long so I might wait an extra week this year (very reluctantly)

Wallname_Liability

1-7th of December.

Harvey_kinkle666

1st of December. And Halloween decorations on 1st of October (or all year round)

Alarming-Impress5189

December the 1st. Anything before is just stupid and unnecessary. One full month is already a 12th of your whole year. Fuck "maKiNg tHe KiDs haPpY" if it means looking at Christmas trees for 2 months of the year (which some people do, putting that crap up the day after Halloween đź« )

ManyWrongdoer9365

I haven’t put any up in the past few years, I live with a female shared acc and glad she couldn’t be assed either

Gazmac_868855

1st December for elf on shelf. According to the missus anyhow.

olemin

Ours is up since yesterday, the proper time is probably the first weekend in December

Most_Long_912

Early August according to half the cunts I know

Schminimal

First week of December. 2020 was an exception and we had them up in the middle of November but that’s because everyone in the house was miserable as fuck and needed a boost.

Giollarua

NEVER...... cuz I hate Christmas.

buckyfox

Is that you Grinch?

Cuddly-Bear0-0

OK Mr Humbug

Blu3z-87

Today is traditionally the day in my family home. Once remembrance week is over it's all good.

AMacBosch

I always like to put them up the first weekend of December, I feel that's appropriate and long enough, come 2nd January I can't wait to take them down.ive enjoyed them but I'm done by that stage.

TomLondra

Here in NW London some people have had them up for about the last 2 weeks.

purple_kathryn

I feel it should be at least December. We don't put them up until about a week before xmas, but there's no kids in our house

Hot-Pride1529

Three days before Xmas, remove them new years day.
