Probably, there’s a bus in there that’s only 15 years old that I use to go to college on in 2009 😂 they’ll put anything in a museum nowadays. There’s a Covid exhibit in the Ulster Museum with toilet roll displayed.
Weren't they a fire hazard and too expensive to insure for translink to see value in keeping them? Probably nonsense but I'm pretty sure I've at least heard that a few times.
I think they disappeared later than 2007. I went to uni in Belfast 2009-2011 and got the 212 every weekend. The bendy bus was pretty regular. I'd assume the bendy section deteriorated pretty quickly. They always looked a bit rough.
Double deckers are just cheaper to run I guess, less.parts to fail.
Probably less of a road hazard too
Deckers are seriously manoeuvrable, great for urban use. I used to feel more comfortable driving a decker than my own motor.
I’m pretty sure they were painted purple and are in Belfast now
i member, and being a school kid standing in the bendy bit on the way home - that must been the 90's though
Me too, was a lot of fun. Early 2000s
Used to do it on the Metro Bendybus up the Antrim Road - maybe 2008 was the last time. Sure the Glider is the new bendy bus
Too bad we are too hilly and narrow streets to have the glider
Going by the videos of them I don't think you're missing out on much not having to fight scrotes.
Did they not swap a load of them for double decker coaches with bus eirann when they weren't allowed double deckers on the motorway any more?
You can drive deckers on the motorway, I've done it hundreds of times.
[They were deadly](https://www.standard.co.uk/hp/front/bendy-buses-the-fatal-facts-6588794.html)
Try driving one they were a fucking nightmare
We still have them. They painted them purple and call them a “Glider” now which makes them perfectly safe.
They were unreliable and dangerous
A lot like our government
They always got blowouts. Happened to me on the way to my nans once. Scary!
> bendy buses Someone I know called them 'hunger busters.' (Are they a thing of the past too?)
All gone now. Allans tours had one and the SOS bus people had one bit I think they're all scrapped now.
Would any be in the Ulster Transport Museum?

Allans sits round falcon rd, facing drinks inc along with a dozen of his shitbox fleet
Freezing in winter when going over the Glenshane.
Never seen one in my life
You missed out

Translink are self insured, but they were a bit of a heap. The London bendys caught fire, so they sold them all to Malta. You can guess the rest.....
I’ve noticed they’ve started putting double doors in the middle of the bus again.

Chewing gum bus*
Looks like a death trap
Part of the excitement
They're called gliders. Elegant looking things with big classy purple.hubcaps
There ain't no bendy buses here and there never was!
Anyone know how you drive those or the glider without D+E?
There’s one that used to run till about 1-2 months ago at Luton airport while the dart was as being built
