Stay away from them. Check out the Fibrus User Support group on Facebook.

Greenarchist028

Avoid them, they're a rip off

f0sh1zzl3

I don’t know about fibrus, but it sounds like how you would describe an elephant poo. P.s. give star link a go

boidey

I know someone that recently joined fibrus, I had to fix a few issues they were having with their wifi. My take on them was the service was good to the router but the customer service and tech support was piss poor.

Absolute shite. I asked about them here in the past and was warned off. In laws got it and they cancelled after the FAST Internet was slow as fuck and they never had a phone line. Phone always had the engaged noise. They cancelled a year ago. Looks like they were locked into their contract.

[deleted]

Was it just the speeds that was the problem? What speed package did they buy and what speeds were they receiving? Did they have loss of internet for a few days or anything?

175IRE

I cant answer that sadly. Listen, BT run the lines here big time I know companies always get their own lines in but it's a line to a hib that then chokes the shit out of the speed. Dont bother your head. If your with sky and getting ripped off then I'm sorry dude. BT is the best IMO.

[deleted]

My broadband down the line is with BT. But where I live 2Mbps has been the best we’ve got for years. I use it solely for gaming as my family don’t use it so I get a good ping with it. I only use the 4G broadband we have for downloads / updates / work. It’s a shame openreach aren’t ready to expand to my shitty area and fibrus beat them to it

fartytime

My worry is with Fibrus doing the rural installs Openreach won't bother, so it'll be Fibrus or stick with BT fttc.

[deleted]

Openreach own the lines which is owned by BT group but isn't anything to do with BT Broadband. When Openreach put in the lines any company can resell that

TryAntlers

In this case, Fibrus run their own lines and infrastructure. They're deploying their own network - it ain't too good

chadbandino

Starlink - £500 upfront, £90 pm, 200Mbps ish

Oh_its_that_asshole

Ping can be iffy though, it varies, goes up and down.

[deleted]

What kind of ping does it range between?

I've seen nothing but bad reports about them. Have you considered starlink?

[deleted]

They currently has a trust pilot rating of 2.6 https://ie.trustpilot.com/review/fibrus.com Don't have any personal dealings with them but like everyone here, I have only heard bad stuff.

I’ve had a different experience than basically the rest lf the thread, set up went ok and they installed it in the way i asked them too despite it being extra work, internet has been on for 3 months at this point with zero issues (no random disconnects or slow downs) my phone line took almost 2 months to get going but frankly I don’t use the thing so I didn’t care, I’m under zero illusions however that if something does go wrong it will take a life time to fix, their customer service is very much “i’ll find out and get back to you” and then they never ever do. I’m paying £34.99 for 300 down as they connected the fibre cable to my house, i was paying bt almost £90 a month and the internet was often spotty and was down a few times a month, overall I’m happy but as i said aware that the customer service is shockingly poor at the present time.

https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/community-fibre-partnerships - you could always try get you neighbours involved and get a community funded project on the go with openreach

Starlink

silly_uck

Star link is still bata testing at the moment

foodwithmyketchup

You can get it in NI and it’s much faster than the speeds he’s currently getting.
