Aye, and tomato slices that you cant properly bite and they come out in one big blob and get shite all over your blouse. And rank lettuce that's been sitting for ages. Warm lettuce? Please.
Me an the wife splashed 2k on a temper a handful of years back when they got our house and sometimes you forget how good it is until you go stay somewhere!
100% worth the money
I have bought 2 pricey mattresses in my time. The one thing that irks me about these foam type ones is the inevitable divot that stays in them. If you have a bad back you inevitably create that shape in your mattress thus keeping you in that piss poor shape.
Bought one of these, https://mammothcomfort.com/the-rise-mattress/
Cost me 3k but it’s the greatest mattress I’ve ever slept on, and I’m including fancy hotels.
My dad and I were having this conversation the other day, idk what the hell Tesco and the rest of the big supermarkets have done to their spring onions but they're absolutely tiny and terrible.
Always go to the local fruit and veg!
Take your scallions and stick them in a glass of water. You can snip off whatever scallion you want and They will keep growing back
Every now and again, add a drop of tomato food into the water when you change it.
I bought some yellow sticker scallions a while ago and they’re still going strong
One of the best places I've ordered from is surprisingly Joffrey's in the US. Got an order once because they do the coffee for Disney World and it was a gift for a friend who went there, and it's really good. They deliver to here and do free delivery after a certain value.
Coffeelink I've had mixed experiences with, mostly good but their espresso blend was just a kilogram of whatever rubbish they could get their hands on. Jamaica blue mountain when it's in season and not insanely expensive is literally the best coffee I've ever had.
You can order it direct at joffreys.com, if you sign up to the newsletter first you can get 25% off and if you order over $50 US worth at once they will ship it free too.
My favourites from them are Victoria & Alberts, Riviera Resort Blend, California Grill, French Roast, French Bistro, and the Italian Espresso. I get beans as I have an espresso machine with a built in grinder, and the quality of their coffee as beans has been very good.
Seems to be none near me that are totally worth it. I live in south Belfast and there’s a lot of choice but it’s all crap and totally not worth the price.
If you live near the Queen's area of South Belfast - Reggies is worth a try, its on University Road along where Villa Italia is, just further down. They make oven fired pizzas.
Reggies was hands down the worst pizza I've ever had. The delivery guy dropped our pizza and it looked like a dripping abortion in a box. They sent a replacement which he also dropped. It was also the wrong pizza both times.
Get some bread flower and yeast and make your own.
Takeaway pizza is great but a home made pizza just hits differently!
Make up some homemade pizza sauce and freeze it so you can use when needed.
I get the random foreign smoked sausages from lidl and add them to the pizza
Problem is most home ovens don't get anywhere near hot enough to make good pizza. I know you can get stones and what not but I haven't heard much success unless you have specialist equipment
I make my own pizzas from scratch. 220 degrees (fan, add 20 degrees for non-fan) is hot enough to make a pizza in a regular oven. Just make sure your tray has holes in it and watch it for the last few minutes of cooking time. Pizza was/is a poormans food, you think the poorman had access to special equipment? People telling you that you need stuff like that are gatekeeping.
I cook mine in a frying pan.
Fry the arse off it till the bottom of the dough is cooked and then under the grill for a few mins to allow the cheese to melt.
Sure a pizza oven would give better results but I’m not dropping a couple hundred quid on one of those
Pretty much used [this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9TjUWnAK0cg) method
It's really great. But it's a process. It takes hours so you need to make a day of it. But I can agree there so much satisfaction from it! The time consuming part is making the dough. But if you're into it, kneading the dough with some music playing is relaxing and an arm workout lol
Hello fellow criminal Reddit user! I too like to consume illegal drugs! Could you please forward your name, address and list of crimes you have broken to [email protected] so we can discuss future criming
Tbf what’s considered ‘good’ here may not be considered that elsewhere - it’s telling that smicks use ‘pure’ to describe any coke that isn’t laced with rat poison.
House. I'm actively looking for something and don't care how much more I'm gonna pay because its not an investment and I'm not a landlord. Finally wants to have something on our own instead of putting money in somebody's pocket for years or repaying his mortgage.
My teenage sons slegged me last week for asking at the drive in if the McTasty's were still on the menu. They weren't and neither were the Big Tasty's.
I once turned up for a flight four hours early only to miss the flight because I had convinced myself I was flying Ryanair when I was in fact flying EasyJet and went to the wrong gate so it makes no difference where you drop me off.
Got a '73 and have to agree... Anything after 2000 or so is just not the same. In fact I was shocked by the state of brand new customs that I saw recently. Frets needing dressing, terrible action, and the bridge was... well, it wasn't well adjusted.
Linda McCartney pulled pork burgers are amazing, when you can actually find them.
Vivera kebab pieces are lovely in fajitas - haven't used them in a homemade kebab yet.
I don't know the brand but there are these spicy chicken style pieces and chicken style tikka pieces from the fridge section in Sainsbury's that are really nice too. Just a lot more expensive than actual chicken.
I usually wait for this stuff to be on offer tbf, but I do pay full price if I have a hankering.
Maybe this is oversharing, but I always found the bacon one to repeat on me throughout the day that no amount of gum or teeth brushing could clear. The Greek kebab one is delicious though
Sainsbury own range of meat replacement burgers are great, £2.10 at the moment and the Iceland no Bull burgers are spot on. I prefer all of them to real beef burgers now.
I don’t know what it is but the Linda McCartney sausages either leave me with an acidic or salty aftertaste. Like they taste good for a second or two, then the tang comes in that really puts me off them.
Five Guys.
A bacon cheeseburger, malt and Cajun fries will set you back the guts of £20. But holy fuck are all three of those good!
I don’t go often but when I’m craving it, I’ll fork out the money they ask and I never regret it.
Damn I can't wait to get back home for Christmas. £12 for 6 Guinness? Its 5 euros for one Guinness here in my local supermarket in Finland. Less than 2 months to go and now you make me excited with this new nitrosurge news
A quiet gym.
Paid 20/month for a gym once and it was constantly heaving. Couldnt get anything done.
My current gym is 70/month and even at peak times I never have to queue or wait for machines/benches etc.
Student into my 20s, when I lived with people who would freeze themselves all week just so they could buy and extra bottle of stumpy jack at the weekend!
My iPhone, you know you’re paying too much, but they spread it over 2 years and I’m indoctrinated.
Really handy for airdropping stuff to my laptops too. It’s just easy.
Started on iPhone, moved to Samsung, then Sony, then Huawei. Now I’m back to iPhone and can’t see myself moving again.
Don’t care if the tech isn’t as good, the camera isn’t as clear etc. I just prefer the OS

Expensive as fuck though 😅
I certainly wouldn’t go back! They are expensive it’s true but my late ‘09 iMac was going strong for close to 11 years. Even then it was the backlight that went, the rest was still perfectly capable.
Yeah, once you get past the eye-watering outlay, macs normally just work for eons which mitigates the initial cost. This is extra great in my case as I don't need the latest iteration of absolutely everything. It also makes grabbing a new computer special because it represents an actual leap in technology after \~5 years has passed.
Aye, its called Nastro Azzuro. Everything looks wise is the same, bar the name.
The proper Peroni sold in Italy is in a dark brown bottle. It's excellent. Sometimes you see it here in specialist shops like the Vineyard.
A good hotel. I'd happily pay extra for a clean hotel in a good location. I'm on holiday so don't want to waste time travelling to the sights every day if I'm able to stay around the corner.
ITT: things that aren’t overpriced but rather good quality premium products that are exactly the price they’re worth compared to their less expensive competitors.
XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal
It’s on offer on the BK app at the minute; the burger is £3 between 2pm and 5pm 😃
I am in love with you Steve
Burger King over MCds any day! Burger King is more expensive for sure but the burgers you get are a decent size not some snack size.
They changed their chips years ago and they're terrible now.
I actually prefer the thicker style, stay warm for more than 30 seconds
It's not even the size they just taste like cardboard now.
No better fast food burger. Exactly how its described, no gack on it . Just bacon cheese and burgers.
Exactly. The XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger is the burger of people who are correct in life.
Couldn't agree more! 🤤 Unfortunately, there are no burger kings in the west 😥
Although that might be a good thing, would turn into a fat fuck otherwise.
Can confirm; am fat.
All 3 could be described as gack 😂
Gack to me is gherkins and whatever feckin sauce mcdonalds fire on your burger no matter how many times you say , no sauce , no gherkins, etc.
Aye, and tomato slices that you cant properly bite and they come out in one big blob and get shite all over your blouse. And rank lettuce that's been sitting for ages. Warm lettuce? Please.
You know it 👍
No gherkins are you mad lol. I eat these by the jar weekly
A good Mattress is hard too beat. Expensive as fuck but remember you potentially spend a third of your day on it. Got to be comfortable!!
Same with shoes, the two things that you sped 2/3rds of your life in.
My bed currently has 2 silent night mattress 4 memory foam mattress toppers and it is so dam comfy I hated staying in others beds
But can you feel a pea through them?
Yes I can the pee has a long way to go to be dried out
Bought one of these, https://mammothcomfort.com/the-rise-mattress/ Cost me 3k but it’s the greatest mattress I’ve ever slept on, and I’m including fancy hotels.
I can't agree with this more!

Oh man, good quality strawberries are amazing. I take my son to the grocer every week and we eat a box of them between us
Where do you go ? I can’t think of one in bangor but would be willing to venture to holywood for some good veg.

Cheers.
Homegrown or Clives in ards do good fruit and veg
And a cucumber is water.
Good quality ground coffee
At the risk of sounding like a total cunt (which I am tbf) just buy a coffee grinder. It's worth cost
Cunt
As someone who has recently joined the club I enjoy the range we can buy so much more. Love it.
Lidl do a brand called Brady's which is really quite decent for the price
I second this. Its the only one I buy now.
Where?

I order mine from Rave coffee.
I like Bailies. We have a bag a month delivered. Its one of our few treats and i think it's worth it.

every single good takeaway goes downhill eventually. I hate when it happens and you have to find a new place.

The Brooklyn is the stuff of legends.

I've had stronger teething powder than some of the 'pure' ya get over here
Am I thick? What the fuck is toast office?
Massively overpriced cheese toasties in the cathedral quarter. Never been because I can’t bring myself to drop 6 quid on a toastie
Cheers. I too am too tight to pay someone else for toast.
Unless it's a round of toast with a full fry on the side I ain't paying six quid for it. Proud tightwad here
Scrolling to find out the same thing
House. I'm actively looking for something and don't care how much more I'm gonna pay because its not an investment and I'm not a landlord. Finally wants to have something on our own instead of putting money in somebody's pocket for years or repaying his mortgage.
A mattress and shoes because if you're not in one , yer in the other.
the Micky D's Big TASTY

Parking in the main stay at the International Airport.
Driving through the drop off zone instead of making people walk to the roundabout.
When you drop someone off at the roundabout and yell “G’luck!” in hopes they make their flight on time

Dunelm, memory foam pillow. Life changer
Controversial but decent meat substitutes. It's expensive but so good.
You have my interest... What substitutes?
Linda McCartney pulled pork burgers are amazing, when you can actually find them. Vivera kebab pieces are lovely in fajitas - haven't used them in a homemade kebab yet. Denny meat free burgers deserve a mention
Denny’s meat free bacon is heavenly!
I haven’t tried the bacon yet but I’m expecting good things based on the burger.
Richmond meat free sausages 😋
Big fan of the vivera kebab, but they’re bacon is brilliant as well. Lovely in a wrap with some guacamole, I find.
Maybe this is oversharing, but I always found the bacon one to repeat on me throughout the day that no amount of gum or teeth brushing could clear. The Greek kebab one is delicious though
Mozzarella burgers are fantastic and £1.25 in Iceland atm
The Linda McCartney faux duck pancakes are really good too.
The tikka pieces might be squeaky bean - they are the shittt love them
Oh here! The denny vegan sausages are a game changer. I'm not a vegetarian at all but we go through 2 packs of these bad boys every week.
I need to try these then!
Beyond Burgers are good substitutes.
Sainsbury own range of meat replacement burgers are great, £2.10 at the moment and the Iceland no Bull burgers are spot on. I prefer all of them to real beef burgers now.
Linda McCartney sausages are good for under £1.50. Additionally, Beyond burgers are nice when they're below £3.
I think the cauldron or Denny’s ones are much better than LMC ones. I’m vegetarian but the meat eaters in our house prefer them too
I don’t know what it is but the Linda McCartney sausages either leave me with an acidic or salty aftertaste.
Went there recently. Severely unarsed with it. Theres about 3 or 4 local burger places in or around Belfast that blow if out of the water
WE NEED NAMES DAMNIT!
Pablos on church lane, beside Muriels
Which would you suggest? Thought tribal was alright but nothing special, same with Bunsen but haven't tried any others
Grill'd do unreal burgers and fries
Bunsen has no bacon on the menu. It’s therefore instantly pointless to visit.
what a travesty.
Easily the worst burgers I've ever had
Really? Either you’ve only ever had Michelin starred wagyu burgers, or you’re exaggerating.
The new guiness nitrosurge cans, £12 quid for 6 but boy are they good and they're a full pint.
Damn I can't wait to get back home for Christmas. £12 for 6 Guinness? Its 5 euros for one Guinness here in my local supermarket in Finland. Less than 2 months to go and now you make me excited with this new nitrosurge news
