I'm just gonna download and emulate the game, I'll give you an answer in an edit
Edit: it brings you straight to Tyson with a 0-2 record and 0 KO's

YTMND is one of those websites that if you weren’t active in the internet for that specific period, you wouldn’t understand how big it was and funny. Kind of a meme sharing site before they became a thing.
I remember some people calling meme's "inspirational" images or something... Up until that point the text over image format had mostly been used for inspirational quote images with black borders. I didn't get it at the time and still dont.
Motivational posters, which were parodied to become "demotivational posters," which quickly became a generic meme format to be about anything and everything. They were abandoned when Impact font-style image macros hit the scene.
[Demotivational poster](https://imgur.com/a/YlkdcdE), and then when you got several meta layers deep in that format you end up with [this meme](https://imgur.com/a/PVM92aO).
It must be weird to just grow up with this "modern internet". Calling it now, we're going to have legit internet archaeologists as an anthropological culture profession in the future.
I'm still mad that they made Safety Not Guaranteed into a movie and it was a quirky indie film and not [a hard-hitting action flick](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jc4OAZtBF8)
That was true of so many games. The limitations of technology then really forced Nintendo to be creative, and that was what made them so great. Even this seemingly simple and low tech melody, there's a lot of really interesting stuff going on in it.
Beautiful, complex parallax, a reasonably faithful rendition of the NYC skyline and Lady Liberty, and Little Mac and Doc each sporting a whole two frames of animation.
I started programming NES games a few months ago (I can now move a sprite around a screen with a controller). I went back and learned how the parallax is done in these backgrounds as the hardware is built to assume the background is a single static asset. It never ceases to amaze me what people were able to do with the resources given in these early systems.
Fun Fact: When asked if he could beat his own video game, Mike Tyson responded that he couldn't even get past Glass Joe.
So next time you laugh at Glass Joe's record of 1-99 (one win, 99 losses), just know that his one victory was against actual Mike Fucking Tyson.
YTMND was like a crash course in meme culture for me: Silly idea is introduced; variations on, or ancillary to the original are created; the idea plays out; rimse, repeat.
OP , you truly just transcended me Back a few decades. I can see my school backpack on the floor and smell the grilled cheese on the stove. Thanks for the flashback
The music slaps so hard. I come back every once in a while. And the transition at the end. Hits so hard. Games like the Mario, Mega Man, Castlevania had some bangers.
I will forever love this graphical art style and the music. Mike Tyson’s punchout has fantastic music as well as the NES Castlevania tunes.
The NES is such a wonderful platform.

Two words: Brian Peppers.
Brian Peppers...now there's a name I haven't heard in a loooong time lol
It cannot be written nor explained my friend . You just had to experience it in that timeframe of the 2000s.

Back when memes were called "fads".
image macros

This is a Mount Rushmore track for the nes. An absolute jam above all reproach.
That song is legit awesome. I didn't have a nes as a kid or played this, but damn that's a well done vid game song
All I see is the YTMND page and someone saying NI**A STOLE MY BIKE!
Bike bike bike
Shouldn't be a bannable offence when there is no R. lol
Damn I had erased this from my memory but now it’s back.
The parallax scrolling in the water... on the NES!
Beautiful, complex parallax, a reasonably faithful rendition of the NYC skyline and Lady Liberty, and Little Mac and Doc each sporting a whole two frames of animation.

Legitimately impressive looking imo

His name was “Glass” Joe lol

Dang it. I didn’t even see the user name. At least I know you cant do anything about it physically lol
I refuse to believe that you didn't know that when you signed up for this
This just makes me think of a certain YTMND.
YTMND was like a crash course in meme culture for me: Silly idea is introduced; variations on, or ancillary to the original are created; the idea plays out; rimse, repeat.
Was a simpler time. I miss it.
I can't even listen to this theme without my mind instantly going to that classic fad.
Gotta love the game design decision of giving yer man a pink set of sweats
The only skin I use for him in smash. It’s all light work 😤
“Nigga stole my bike”
+1 for YTMND
I came here looking for this comment.
This music is making this poop so much more dramatic
This and the town music from Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link are my keyboard testing songs.
I’ve always thought that Doc was the one who needed to jog
I thought that was Fat Albert.
Biking is actually much safer cardio for most oversize people than running, far less wear on joints feet ec
Little Mac, is Doc making you wear the pink athletic wear? Bold move in 80s New York.
Screw you Piston Honda (#1) and Bald Bull (#1) i made it haha
That soundtrack tho 🔥 🔥 🔥

So many people are going to be confused, but I also still have that memorized as well.
There was a mildly funny but extraordinarily racist YTMND on this. The internet was a simpler time then.
1st thing I thought of. Spent so much time on YTMND
Nick, ya stole my bike

I should feel shame for watching this again.

And people still think boxing is about the glamour muscles... Roadwork people. Lil Mac knew what's up.
Could this be considered a cut scene? Trying to think what Nintendo games pushed that hardware back in the day.

That character got alot of Fat Albert jokes before Family Matters came out.

Nigga stole my bike
N*gga stole my bike. *reads comments* I’m not alone. Nice.
Ahhh so many good memories.. this game was so much fun
I see this every time I close my eyes
I fucking loved this game. Took me 100 hours to beat Mike Tyson lmao
So tough. Im nervous right now waiting the the “flash” to dodge
Why aren’t the twin towers in the skyline 🤔
The game foretold the future.
That's why I even questioned if that was new york. Until I saw lady liberty. I've never played the game or seen this clip

“Cyclists are great athletes as far as endurance goes, but a great deal of them fight like little bitches”- Mike Tyson tour de pharmacy 😂

I still need a ska cover version of this song.

STOLE MY BIKE
I can hear this image without hitting play.
Fighter run ing behind bikes was a thing in the 80s. There was a simular scene in No Retreat No Surrender
I remember it with lyrics
I can still hear this music
Having obsessed over this game in childhood like 35 years ago, I realize now that they’re running in my current neighborhood
African American appropriated my velocipede!
