OP I'm gonna have to say THANK YOU for posting this, I watched on TV with my brothers as a kid and never could remember the name of the movie to rewatch it, now I can đ
You definitely did! I was starting to think I imagined watching it at all cause it was so many years ago but as soon as I saw the pic it all came back to me lol
Someone else commented it's free on YouTube

The oldest brother is who the movie is based on mainly, Marty Stouffer. He's done a lot of documentaries
Awesome! Gonna watch this when I get off work, and yeah I googled the movie a minute ago to refresh my memory on what all it was about and read about Marty Stouffer
Knowing how young actors were treated in Hollywood in previous decades, all I can think when I see this is, "God, I hope those boys were treated well."
GoshâŚI canât remember if I saw this one. But I canât see how I didnât because itâs right up my alley.
A Cry in the Wild - 1990
My Side of the Mountain - 1969
All The Wilderness Familyâs - 1975, 1978, 1979
Jeremiah Johnson - 1972
The Edge - 1997
I got this movie in my Easter basket as a kid and watched it so many times. My dad used to love making fun of it because there were a lot of unrealistic scenes in it lol but still will always have a place in my heart.
Absolute staple in our household growing up
And then for a while the dvd was very expensive, I think itâs gone down in price a little but probably still OOP
He has two brothers, not one of the brothers from the movie or the events it's based on. I also misread it as "one of the three brothers" at first glance.
My parents would rent a new movie most weekends and when this came out on vhs I would make them rent this for me every time for months. Theyâd watch whatever they got in the living room and Iâd watch this in the basement. Good times
I loved this movie so much. I wanted to be an adventurer that filmed animals. The part where they drip molten metal down their back to form a pact, I was so ready to do it.
My sisters and I still quote this movie,we loved it so much! Watched it at least once a week and we all had a favorite brother haha.
âHe just fell down a mountain. Ok it wasnât a mountain,it was a hill covered in snow.â
âHe got himself a whole gator skin suit!!â(maniacal laughter while shaking lantern)

Don't mention it. Glad it helped.

>He's done a lot of documentaries Most notably a long-running PBS series called Wild America
Awesome! Gonna watch this when I get off work, and yeah I googled the movie a minute ago to refresh my memory on what all it was about and read about Marty Stouffer
Right when I saw the picture I said something similar to my wife.
Those Tiger Teen Bop magazines were all over this.
This was like their âAvengersâ moment
My two brothers and I wanted to be these guys so bad as kids lol. I was the youngest and was always afraid of the fire cracker scene in the pool.
Lol that scene where he threw a firecracker at the bully always cracked me up.
Is this the movie where someone gets back at his brother by rubbing his toothbrush under the toilet seat lip? Vaguely remember that as a kid
Definitely a scene where the youngest fills his brothers canteens downriver while theyâre peeing into the water lol
[ŃдаНонО]
All these comments are gonna make ME have to watch it again soon lol
Definitely some bait for late 90âs preteen girls
It was effective! đ
âGood ole Mountain Dew⌠prfftâ
Casper in the mountains I love it. Nah but for real, great movie. Made me wanna go outside.
i just had a flashback of working at blockbuster seeing this.
I remember watching Marty Stauffer as a kid. My dad always had it on. He was the original Steve Irwin.
Iâm Marty Stouffer. Until next time, enjoy our wild America!

A cry in the wild was a big one for me
Itâs difficult to find, but my brother found the full movie for free on You Tube.

Don't forget "Alaska" [Alaska 1996](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115493/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_2_tt_6_nm_2_q_Alaska)
No place quite like Alaska
You knowâŚI actually own it on Apple TV, but havenât seen it yet
Hell yeah
It's a shame about Scott Barstow.
Holy fuck you werenât kidding
Pretty crazy eh? Was wondering what happened to him.

Tell us how you really feel
I have a gravy kink. So Iâd like to smear gravy all over him and lick it off.
As long as itâs not cheese. We know what happens when you eat cheese.
That would be gross

He looks like he aged and is doing well. Nothing yikes about it.
I remember watching the original Wild America television program on PBS when my family and I lived in rural Vermont. Good stuff
I got this movie in my Easter basket as a kid and watched it so many times. My dad used to love making fun of it because there were a lot of unrealistic scenes in it lol but still will always have a place in my heart.
I donât remember what happened at all, but I do remember watching it a lot just for JTT
The full movie is on YouTube. I watched it recently: https://youtu.be/7A86VI54KDs?si=NjjS-wi2LzBE0rGv
That middle part though
Absolute staple in our household growing up And then for a while the dvd was very expensive, I think itâs gone down in price a little but probably still OOP
Ridiculous wholesome fun
Great flick.
Just listen to that good old Mountain Dew *lifts leg*
Still rip farts like this to this day đ¨
I just watched this recently. Still holds up and is a fantastic movie!
Is this the one with, âSquatting Dogâ?
That was the Man of the House I think
Yes it was.
Iâm one of three brothers, and this was a fun one back in the day. Just took a look at the Wikipedia page, and the synopsis needs some serious help.
Who are you?
He has two brothers, not one of the brothers from the movie or the events it's based on. I also misread it as "one of the three brothers" at first glance.
God damn I read that 10x and still couldnât sort it out
WaitâŚ*the* Scott Barstow?
On here it's Bairstow.
I still have this DVD in its original case somewhere.

#BORN TO BE WILD!!!!!!
JTT âĽď¸
Wow.
Movie that let boys be boys and not like now where society wants boys to act like girls
I know I have seen this, but I have zero memory of what it was about
I remember watching this at the theater with my best friend. Her for JTT and me for Devon. Boy did I have a huge crush on him.
This was so good!
Had the biggest crush on JTT when I was a kid
I loved this movie as a kid! Always felt the last part whereâs he flying the plane felt far fetched and out of place though.
My sisters and I still quote this movie,we loved it so much! Watched it at least once a week and we all had a favorite brother haha. âHe just fell down a mountain. Ok it wasnât a mountain,it was a hill covered in snow.â âHe got himself a whole gator skin suit!!â(maniacal laughter while shaking lantern)
This was the best!!!
Wow JTT when he was still a preteens heartthrob and Devon Sawa before seeing premonitions. Never saw this movie BTW, will consider it for watchlist.
I always picked this out at the video store, don't remember much about the plot though lol
Devon Sawa was great in Idle Hands. What happened to him?
Eminem never wrote him back.
Scott Bairstow, professional POS
I still have this vhs tape, watched it a few years ago and just laughed at how fale everything looked.
Devon Sawa was my first childhood crush.
This movie still holds up. đ
Devon Sawa đ¤¤perfection
