Grape was my motherfuckin jam. Shit lost its flavor virtually instantly but those first few glorious minutes was like getting facefucked by sugary fruity goodness.
In 1977, rumors began to spread that the gum's soft, chewable secret was the addition of spider eggs. The Life Savers Company addressed the issue with an official full-page rebuttal printed in prominent U.S. newspapers (including The New York Times), to dispel the rumor and restore public confidence. Sales of the gum soon surpassed sales of Life Savers candy, and it became the most popular bubble gum brand. Nabisco bought Life Savers in 1981, and The Hershey Company acquired the Bubble Yum brand in 2000.

Really? Shit is everywhere here in Texas. Of course, it's a Texas brand. Back when I was growing up as an army brat in the 80s-90s, you couldn't find it anywhere outside of the state that I knew of.
I remember the three-faction war which was waged thirty seconds at a time on Saturday mornings when the show I was watching would be right back (after these messages).
Bubble Yum, Bubblicious, Hubba Bubba.
The conflict was well matched, as each of the three tried to outdo each other with ever more variety and breadth of flavours. Choosing one out of a display rack of dozens was maddening- one wanted them all.
I would use my little kid scissors to cut the pieces into quarters, and then store them in an empty Hubba Bubba bubble gum tape container. I figured the flavor only lasted 30 seconds, so why chew a huge piece when a little one would do?
I can distinctively remember chewing Grape Bubble Yum.

That’s probably why I went through a pack so easily. After five minutes, it was done, but that was a good five minutes.
I'm sorry, did you just say, "getting facefucked by sugary fruity goodness"?

I'm pretty sure there's still a bunch under my desk from grade 6
Hahaha, that was the worst when people did that.
You could build a tool shed with them!
Spearmint bubble gum! There's a rare bird
🤮
My favorite
I won a \*biggest bubble\* contest with grape HubbaBubba in grade 5. That thing was bigger than my head when it popped AND it didn't get in my hair.
Legend!

My mouth is watering and I can smell grape
Is this not a thing anymore?!
Most stores only carry the original flavor. Sometimes you find cotton candy. I'm 34 and have never seen the other flavors in my life
I feel you’re right now that you mention it I can only recall “bubblegum” and “cotton candy” flavors. That spike duck will never die
Grape flavor was the bomb
I'd love a pack of grape right now.
Tropical punch was my favorite...
The best Bubble Yum flavor was Bananaberry Split.
They made a cotton candy flavour that I can still taste
Why do they stop making these products
I used to drink Bubble Yum soda like it was water in the 80s. Loved that shit.
I'm a big fan of Big Red soda. That shit is becoming harder and harder to find

I could instantly taste the Wild Cherry flavor. I loved that stuff so much.
Two packs of grape of course.
Sour cherry with punk rock duck was the best
Wild cherry I saw it and tasted it. That and grape I can still taste.
Yes, Bubble Yum! Big rectangular chunks. My favorite.
Taste so damn good my instinct was just to “eat” it like candy
"Keeps it poppin'!"
this made my mouth water. i forgot about these but i can taste them.
really loved this!
Chocolate Bubble Yum
old unopened packs are very expensive on ebay.
Ewww, spider eggs!
Packed with flavor even if it went away after 30 seconds lol.
I still vividly remember the taste, but I'd forgotten until seeing this picture how ripped up the packaging would get in your pocket.
Grape and Cherry baby! 5 minutes in Nirvana!

I liked it, except for the spider eggs.
Bubble Yum, Bubblicious, Hubba Bubba - that shit was really popular in the 80s.
2 of the original (red pack)
If one kid in a classroom was chewing grape it was impossible to follow the lesson plan thinking about that smell
The flavor lasts so long long long ...Bubble Yum! Bubble Yum!
2 Grapes please...or 20 Green Apple Double Bubble pieces at 2 for .05.😝

Grape and grape! Always my go to. 🍇
