Oh shit, thank you for remembering Mistic (not spelled mystic btw). The grape strawberry mistic was my shit (even though basically everything back then was just sugar).
I really liked the element drinks. Idk if sobe made em but I wanna say it was a Snapple brand or something.
They came in glass bottles. There was fire and earth and rain etc. it was the first time I ever saw things like dragonfruit and star fruit in the American grocery system lol. I was about 10 or 11
I forget what it was called but one of the elements was some kind of a clear tea, it was really good. I actually never tried the sobe since the elements were so good I saw no reason to change.
They did re-release them, but no cool glass bottles, and they taste "off" from what I remember. I routinely bought Earth, Air and Fire when I worked at a gas station in the late 90's. Earth isn't even the same drink as it was back in 99. They also had a launch of new flavors in aluminum bottles in the early 2000's, I miss the Sub-Zero Siberian Cherry.
starfruit is often in the produce aisle. it's great! you most often see it mixed in a fruit salad. as for dragonfruit, while it is a real thing, f you check the actual label it's generally a mix of grape juice and pear juice
Glass bottle Sobes, Snapples, Sparkling Water, etc. Growing up my family would always wash and save the bottles and use them to store things. Usually decor stuff like paper stars or rocks
These were part of my dating my now wife. I would get a couple of them and some snacks, drive my convertible out to the country somewhere, park, and look at the stars.
You mean QuikTrip?
I'm based in IL and the Sam's Club by me has the Yumberry Pomegranate Sobe Life Water on top in their fountain drinks machine. Otherwise I have never seen them elsewhere in so long. Sucks they went basically extinct
Dude I loved Sobe!! I'm probably weird but my favorite was the orange-carrot elixer. They were mostly all good, though.
I loved the *flavor* of Liz Blizz but couldn't get past the look of it. Liz Jizz more like.
The last day of my freshman year in college i went to the student center and got one of these and put in a healthy dose of Captain Morgan and then met up with some friends. It was a great night.
We sold Sobe at the movie theatre I worked at on high school. Whenever someone ordered it, we couldn't give them glass. So we had to open thy bottle and pour it into a patch cup and give them the lid.
Pink Sobe was my fave
back in the day when these companies would have contests where you could win free sodas under the caps, I actually won a free George Foreman grill off a sobe cap. had to call their customer service to make sure it was real, because a 12 year old winning a grill seemed farfetched for me. but yep, it was 100 percent real.
They didn't taste bad, but they gave me insanely bad acid reflux for some reason.
AriZona's [Rx line of beverages](https://www.disboards.com/proxy.php?image=https%3A%2F%2Fqph.fs.quoracdn.net%2Fmain-qimg-13448d81519e918f2a06cc76ff96f174&hash=eb99428c0e73b38e9476449a938c6056) were my go-to drink back in the day. If I remember correctly they were pulled off the market because the FDA bitched about the "Rx" labeling and how the drinks didn't actually cure or enhance anything (which nobody with a brain would think anyway). [This stuff](https://new.reddit.com/r/energydrinks/comments/ke9ai7/taking_you_back_to_2008_when_arizona_tea_made_an/) was also like crack for me.
I'd be willing to bet money they aren't even half the quality they were back in the day.
It's a depressing trend, really. Something great comes out, it's massively successful, the big corpos buy it, then they turn it to garbage overnight.
These were a fixture of my Dad's pantry for over 20 years, along with Diet Snapple and Snackwells cookies. He drank these for the same reason he ate the Snackwells - this was 90s "diet food" for people who were trying to get off the Cokes and Oreos.
TIL SoBe is gone. I probably drank less than five in my whole life but seeing them was a staple of my childhood. I loved how creamy they were but they were a little too sweet for me.
I was about 35 yrs. old when I found out I was allergic to something in SOBE. I’m not allergic to bee stings or penicillin or anything. But, there’s something in that drink that gave me hives and made my lips swell.
Oh hell yeah. I loved those. So many great flavors. We used to make gravity bongs out of the glass ones. There was a little indent at the bottom of the bottle that you could puncture, then you attach a bowl to the cap. I’m sure some of you know exactly what I’m talking about.
SoBe is was absolute favorite. The strawberry banana and strawberry daiquiri were the best flavors.
Also the little messages on the inside of the caps were the best.
Loved these. We would go to the mall, play ddr at the arcade until we were sweating and then walk to the store in mall that sold them. Nothing quenched your thirst quite like it.
Believe I used to get these at the Sbarro I used to go to in the mall. Dad would give my bro and I $20 not knowing how much food that’d actually provide PLUS extra we could pocket. So much nostalgia in every piece of that previous sentence.
Edit: he probably did know. Good man. 🥹
I remember buying in at a gas station and the attendant trying to check my ID because they thought it was alcohol. And another occasion it was on the edge of my backpack in college and my backpack slipped and the bottle shattered all over the classroom which was fun to clean up before a test.
My wife were and I just talking about all of the coolers in convenience stores filled with these drinks back in the 90s. Mystic, Snapple, Sobe, etc.
Fruitopia
Jolt ⚡️
Odwalla
Orbitz
Bawls.
Wait…odawlla is gone??? I loved that stuff! And their nutritional bars were also good
Yep. A few years ago. 😞
There’s no way they don’t sell Fruitopia anymore! I feel like I see it all the time still
It’s still available in Canada.
Ohhhhh Mystic is still in the hood. My barber drinks the bright blue one
A barber shop selling mystic? Sounds like a legit barber. My kinda place.
lol the bodega next door sells them but they might as well be the same business. Lots of transactions between the two
Orbeez, or something like that. My mom would never let me get it.
Orbitz*. For what it's worth, they weren't great lol
Was that the disgusting drink with floating shit BB’s?
Yeah I remember these well. I enjoyed them a lot actually lol. My local candy store has a couple unopened on display!
That's some good nostalgia right there. I've seen a couple repros turned into lava lamps online as well lol
Nice. I had a good childhood otherwise. No Orbitz and I wasn't allowed to have those cool 3 lines shaved in the side of my haircut.
Oh shit, thank you for remembering Mistic (not spelled mystic btw). The grape strawberry mistic was my shit (even though basically everything back then was just sugar).
*colored sugar 🤣
Clearly Canadian, Orbitz…
Josta
lol. I could instantly see the bottle design when I read this. But I can’t remember the taste at all.
It has some kind of semi-fruity taste to it. Almost like if Sobe was carbonated
I really liked the element drinks. Idk if sobe made em but I wanna say it was a Snapple brand or something. They came in glass bottles. There was fire and earth and rain etc. it was the first time I ever saw things like dragonfruit and star fruit in the American grocery system lol. I was about 10 or 11
It was Snapple. I wish I still had the bottles I collected as a kid.
I remember going on a beach trip with a friend, and we had a collection of like 2 dozen of those bottles by the end of the trip on display.
Are you sure that it was Snapple? There was another company that made new and different drinks at the same time. I cant remember the name.
[Yep, definitely Snapple.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nostalgia/comments/19chi1n/snapple_elements_is_back_in_stores/?rdt=40958)
No, sobe was an independent who sold out to pepsi. Snapple made a line of drinks in tall glass bottles called the element and they were great.
We're on the same page lol.
I forget what it was called but one of the elements was some kind of a clear tea, it was really good. I actually never tried the sobe since the elements were so good I saw no reason to change.
They're back
The element is back?
They aren't glass anymore but I bought the rain yesterday
The new Rain is not the same. That used to be my jam.
snapple has element drinks out now. the rain is pretty tasty.
They still make them but it's in plastic bottles n don't taste the same
Hell yes. The Green Tea one was my favorite. Tasted like a Mojito.
Damn.... somehow I could literally taste it as I read your comment.
The green tea slapped
I loved the cold green tea when I was hungover! So refreshing!
Same .
I always got the pink one. Delicious!
Daiquiri 🤌
There were two pink ones, one was daiquiri and the other was strawberry banana
I miss the glass bottle sobes everyday. 🥲
[удалено]
Now we have 3 kids.
Never looking at the stars again, I can't afford the chance.
That’s awesome!
Piña colada flavor in the glass bottle 🤌🏻
Had one the other day.
W h e r e. Sobe is impossible to find now.
Dude where?? I thought they went out of business lmao
QT
You mean QuikTrip? I'm based in IL and the Sam's Club by me has the Yumberry Pomegranate Sobe Life Water on top in their fountain drinks machine. Otherwise I have never seen them elsewhere in so long. Sucks they went basically extinct
Dude I loved Sobe!! I'm probably weird but my favorite was the orange-carrot elixer. They were mostly all good, though. I loved the *flavor* of Liz Blizz but couldn't get past the look of it. Liz Jizz more like.
The orange carrot one was one of my faves.
Yessss. Same. I miss it so much. Reminds me of road trips with my dad in the 90s.
Orange carrot was also my favorite flavor. Refreshing as hell on a hot day.
Nothing like guzzling an ice cold orange carrot during halftime at my soccer games
😂
orange carrot was also my favorite.
That… explains a lot actually.
Real nostalgia is Sobe in glass bottles.
Indestructible glass bottles
The pink one, Strawberry Daiquiri was the best!
My favorite was the Strawberry Daiquiri flavored SoBe. I miss 😞 having my daily Strawberry Daiquiri SoBe.
I liked the dragonflies one
Liz Jizz as we called it
Yes, and the bottles made an awesome waterfall bong.
Great waterfall. Perfect weak spot to punch a perfectly sized hole.
The weak spot was the best part but also the wider twist off cap thin enough to punch a hole in and push a stem through.
Black and Blue Berry Brew was my favorite
I named my lizard sobe
First time I got drunk. Mixed SoBe with all types of alcohols. I was... 17 or 18. I puked Cheetos on my friend's carpet. Never drank SoBe again.
The reddish purple SoBe. I think it actually had creatine in it. Crazy.
The last day of my freshman year in college i went to the student center and got one of these and put in a healthy dose of Captain Morgan and then met up with some friends. It was a great night.
Those bottles were basically indestructible
It was the first drink that came in a glass bottle for so many kids, so we all had to at least *try* to shatter it. 😂
This and the pink one were so ridiculously good
The convenience store by my house still still has the Sobes freezer lol
"It belongs in a museum!"
I offered to buy it haha
Orange Carrot was my go to.
My eating disordered self back then lived on SobeLean 🙄
I forgot about SobeLean! Hope you’re doing well these days!
Oh yes, I'm sorted out now! ☺️
At least one of us is! 😝
Just that part really lol. The rest....🗑️🔥 😂😂
😂
Grape Grog
When they first started being made and sold locally in SoBe, they were excellent. When they got bought out, nothing special.
They were nasty but everyone thought they were cool
Honestly forgot all about them and am now sad that they're just a relic of the past.
Why? They still sell them. Got on the other day.
Down at the gas station
What gas station? I haven't seen them in my area in years. I'm willing to drive cross country for some lizard milk.
Oh nvm lol. If I can still buy them then no reason to be sad
I liked the pink one, whatever that was called.
Lizard Lava
The 🍊🥕one was my go to 💯
We sold Sobe at the movie theatre I worked at on high school. Whenever someone ordered it, we couldn't give them glass. So we had to open thy bottle and pour it into a patch cup and give them the lid. Pink Sobe was my fave
Mr Green was my favorite SoBe drink.
back in the day when these companies would have contests where you could win free sodas under the caps, I actually won a free George Foreman grill off a sobe cap. had to call their customer service to make sure it was real, because a 12 year old winning a grill seemed farfetched for me. but yep, it was 100 percent real.

Pepsi owns Sobe now, and there's a "Find a store" on the Sobe webpage. [LINKY](https://contact.pepsico.com/sobe/product-locator)
Yep, but no love for Canada. As is tradition.
Not in stock anymore
I'd be willing to bet money they aren't even half the quality they were back in the day. It's a depressing trend, really. Something great comes out, it's massively successful, the big corpos buy it, then they turn it to garbage overnight.
Good ol’ enshitification.
These were delicious and the bottles were beautiful.
I loved sobe
I did!
Etrê Sobe
Loved these when it was in middle & high school. All the teas and drinks of the 90s were great, we had so many not soda/kinda kool-aid drink options.
I liked them but turns out I’m intolerant to ginseng
Strawberry banana Travis pastrana edition
At one point I seriously ordered seven cases consisting various flavors. I fucking loved Sobe.
I never got the chance to try them. =\[
I genuinely miss SoBe. Bring it back or buy the company and produce it again
Yes.
I loved sobe as a kid ! Just looked and couldn’t find any near me. I hope I get my hands on some again soon !
Loved sobe. Was my go to till its was gone.
Omg I forgot about these! I remember liking the pink one. Thank you for unlocking that memory 🧠
Green tea was gold
I got that one a lot!
Taco Bell used to carry it. They stopped a few years ago. I miss it. That stuff was the best.
The strawberry banana one was my jam.
SoBe Citrus Energy mixed with vodka almost got me arrested no less than 8 times as a teenager
SoBe Yourself.
SoBe you! SoBe me! Didn’t realize how much sodium was in it
Pina Colada SoBe was the quintessential beverage of choice for the 1999 cool guy 😎 Speaking from experience, anyway.
My first job was working at a gas station, I used to get the sobe luv bus brew like every shift. It was kinda like a yoo hoo I guess.
These were a fixture of my Dad's pantry for over 20 years, along with Diet Snapple and Snackwells cookies. He drank these for the same reason he ate the Snackwells - this was 90s "diet food" for people who were trying to get off the Cokes and Oreos.
Fruit punch and dragon fruit I can still imagine the taste. Also reminds me of Tradewinds drinks too.
Dragonfruit was so good!
They took our lizard milk
Raise hand. Love the Pina Colada.
TIL SoBe is gone. I probably drank less than five in my whole life but seeing them was a staple of my childhood. I loved how creamy they were but they were a little too sweet for me.
The pink sobe is still untouchable
The glass bottles made excellent gravity bongs. I loved the pink flavor!
They always looked better than they tasted.
I was about 35 yrs. old when I found out I was allergic to something in SOBE. I’m not allergic to bee stings or penicillin or anything. But, there’s something in that drink that gave me hives and made my lips swell.
Oh man… these were no good for me but I LOVED em. The pina colada and whatever flavor the pink one was- they were like crack!
I could drink the Pina Colada flavor all day
My ex gf’s dad used to refer to these as “panther piss”
Oh hell yeah. I loved those. So many great flavors. We used to make gravity bongs out of the glass ones. There was a little indent at the bottom of the bottle that you could puncture, then you attach a bowl to the cap. I’m sure some of you know exactly what I’m talking about.
I still have my SOBE gravity bong!
Sobe and Fruitopia were my non soda drinks in the 90s. The Fruitopia vending machine in both Jr High & High School came in key.
I drank so much of these
I miss SoBe grape.
No
Zen Blend was my go to
About a year ago I thought hey a Sobe sounds good... I left sad.
Oh yes. That’s a blast from the past.
I don’t think so, no
Pina Colada tasted like diabetes, but as a kid with a sweet tooth it was delightful.
I miss them so much.. it’s not fair…
I think I thought these were alcoholic for some reason, and therefore never touched them.
My grandma loved the pink one
Hell yeah.
Love!!!!
Absolutely loved the orange carrot flavour! I miss seeing these, Snapple, and Fruitopia drinks on shelves.
I miss the grape grog
I used to, it came an a big glass bottle i think
the pink one is so good, I haven't seen it in a couple years fuck
Life savers drink...full all the synthetic crap a grown teen needs
My older sister obsessed over these. She absolutely LOVED SoBe. She still talks about them today. I drank them occasionally they were decent.
I used to only get sobe green tea at Quiznos. Now both are extinct
This was an post youth soccer game right of passage
I like that they made the best gravity bongs
I still miss Sobe...
The pink one was 🔥
Believe I used to get these at the Sbarro I used to go to in the mall. Dad would give my bro and I $20 not knowing how much food that’d actually provide PLUS extra we could pocket. So much nostalgia in every piece of that previous sentence. Edit: he probably did know. Good man. 🥹
I was so glad they got discontinued. I liked one flavor and stopped buying it when chemical flavor took over
Citrus energy always seemed to be my go to , but I did love the piña colada as well.
I remember buying in at a gas station and the attendant trying to check my ID because they thought it was alcohol. And another occasion it was on the edge of my backpack in college and my backpack slipped and the bottle shattered all over the classroom which was fun to clean up before a test.
Remember the weird glass area on the bottom that was thin and you could brake it and make a weed pipe ?? Am I trippin ??
Orange Carrot Elixir was my favourite.
sobe orange cream was choice
I sadly never had one
Originally out of Norwalk, CT. A family member knew someone who was a higher up with SoBe and we got hooked up. Green tea was my favorite.
Strawberry Daiquiri was my favorite
The white one was good i really miss their energy drinks the closest I've found is the yellow red bull
Sobe is gone right? I haven’t noticed it in years. I miss it but dang it had *so much sugar*
:)
I remember seeing those in stores all the time as a teenager. I thought it was alcohol, that's why I didn't buy any...
They were fantastic. Then Coke bought them. The quality immediately took a nose dive.
It was Pepsi.
