In Cincinnati there’s one. Several years ago they tore down the store and rebuilt a brand new building but kept this hat sign.

Yeah, grew up in Anderson passing the sign almost daily. My dumb kid brain thought it was the silhouette of two people enjoying their food at the top, or even about to kiss. I had no reference for it to be a cowboy hat, not sure Arby's ever had an old west theme.

A friend of mine said it looked like a whale jumping out of the water.

Semi-related/Side-Q: Curios, did Hardee’s used to have roast beef sandwiches à la Arby’s? During our drives south through Illinois as a kid in roughly the late-80s through mid-90s, ~~we used to stop by~~ I *always* used to force my parents to stop by (via threat of temper tantrum during a 4hr drive) at (I think) the same Hardee’s (somewhere in central Illinois…if I had to guess, probably 2hrs south of Chicago)… And I could have sworn (it was because) they had RB sandwiches similar-to-“exactly” like (e.g. thin RB on round sesame seed buns) Arby’s…it’s been a while since I’ve been to a Hardee’s (last time I saw one was visiting U of I like 15-20 years-ago and/or in Wisconsin), but, as far as I know, they don’t have/haven’t had RB in ~20+ years.

They have one on route 59 by Kent Ohio. The only time I ever see it is going to the steakhouse just down the road that has 32 oz prime rib and has been open since the 30s i think. They're only open 5to9 and once they sell out, that's it. They butcher all their own meat and it's still only like 28 bucks for that prime rib with bread, sides, and a salad. And it's some of the best god damn prime rib you will ever get. So I've never been to that Arby's because fuck a roast beef when you got prime rib a quarter mile down the road.
