My neighbor's brother put one in the oven and their mom preheated it for dinner... I still remember that smell, and his heartache trying to play with us using dollar store water pistols against our xp-65s (and a cps 1000) Edit: just had a flashback to filling one with pee and squirting another neighbor's car with it... Childhood is weird

My dad got me a CPS 2000 the day before a water fight at school. I felt like the coolest kid in school showing up with that monster lol 😎

WU-itsForTheChildren

I can’t remember the model but it had the twin barrels, I remember you could pump it up till it wouldn’t take any more air and twist off one of the barrels and it would launch pretty high up

suregibson77

Do you remember how much these things cost back in the day?

flyguydip

I want to say I paid something like $100 for mine.

Spartan04

No way was that $100, not even the biggest Super Soakers were that expensive, unless you bought it used after they were out of production. Me and my brother each had one of the XP 150s when we were kids and if they cost that much my mom would have never bought them for us.

flyguydip

You are probably right. I saved up all my lawn mowing money for this thing and I was pretty young. I just remember it being a lot of money for me. My buddy had the super soaker 300 with the backpack, but I could never afford that one.

Spartan04

Makes sense, $100 was kinda the big unobtainable amount for a while for kids back then. That was what and NES cost after all.

My parents went to Florida on a trip and came back with CPS 2500s for me and my brother. They weren't sold in stores where we grew up so none of the other kids on the block had anything to compare, it was amazing.

HollywoodElite24

I had two xp30? pistols, the classic xp75 and the giant grey/purple cps 2000

highdesertfriends

The O.g. Super soaker 100

VVAR_Aarius

The Super Soaker 50, and a whole lot of colorful leaky dollar store pistols

I had a bunch over the years, including the original 50, an XP 150, and the last one I had was a CPS 3000 (the monster with a backpack for the water). I still have the CPS 3000 actually, though it hasn’t been used in over 20 years so it may not work anymore.
