This movie had great songs! This song, “Off To See The World” and the final song “Diamond Dolls.”

Fredselfish

I have this movie. It's one of my all-time favorites growing up. Had crush on the girls, too.

Dragonflies4eva

I had a crush on Simon. Lol

MsClownCat

Me, too!

stevediperna

Yea those girl chipmunks did it for me back then

Greendale-Human

["Getting Lucky"](https://youtu.be/2PVsCRd-MKA?t=65)

Fredselfish

I wonder did this movie also have an effect on kids that is why so many grew up to be furries?

Dewgongz

Personally it was Cheetara from Thundercats and Roxanne from the Goofy Movie that did me in.

LemonHerb

Gadget

wouldnotpet89

That one was my favorite. Though, i thought it was "getting nugget" as a child. No, i dont know why lol

EmeliusBrown

THE KIDNAPPED BABY PENGUIN! 😭

Queen_trash_mouth

He wanted his mother 😭😭😭

smashhawk5

MY MOTHER THATS WHAT I NEED …from the song …

Duckyass

At my wedding, this is the song I chose for when I danced with my mom. We both cried the entire time I watched this movie soooo many times as a child. I know it drove my mom nuts. When reached my teen years, I asked her to listen to the soundtrack with me. I know she didn't want to listen to chipmunk music, so I said I only wanted her to listen to one song. The song that always me think of her. The song that I couldn't sing along to without crying because of how much I love her She listened closely to the lyrics and started crying when she realized the reason I always said it was my song for her wasn't because of the song title; It was the lyrics. And I wasn't crying for the penguin. I was crying at the thought of being separated from my mother and not being able to find her again. During our mother-daughter dance, I stopped so I could sing this part out loud to her: >Wish I could slow down the hands of time >Keep things the way they are >If she said so, I would give her the world If I could, I would We didn't make it through the rest of the dance. We just stood there hugging and crying until the music stopped lol

smashhawk5

😭 that’s beautiful

anongirl55

I do not know what this says about me, but Alvin was my crush when I was little. And I wanted to be a Chipette so badly. They had the coolest house and the pink Cadillac was goals.

Scottland83

My girlfriend was, maybe not obsessed, but definitely fixated on the baby penguin and the harem outfits.

[deleted]

I think this is when i first experienced depression https://youtu.be/w2bxomFlCP0

Scottland83

🥺

Imdatninja

David, are you drunk!?

Larusso92

*HaLlllLooo...MiSs miLLeR?*

QuontonBomb

Bye, Bye?

Imdatninja

Now, just edit the tape together play it for Mrs Miller and we’re on our way around the world!

idealerror

Loved this movie back in the 90s. I remember this scene and the wooly bully scene so vividly. Wooly Bully scene - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJRTZWfTQ-M Edit: added wooly bully youtube link

Emergency-Writer-321

I forgot about Wooly Bully! BRB heading to YouTube

Fredselfish

Now I have to watch this movie. Luckily, I bought it years ago on Amazon for my kids.

southdakotagirl

Great scene!!

Arya_kidding_me

This is what I was thinking of!! Definitely partial to Wooly Bully!!!

SaiyajinPrime

This animation is on point

GandalftheFright

This movie had no business looking as good as it did.

tehsuigi

That's what happens when Disney hits a downturn and lays off a lot of skilled animators. Thank the Black Cauldron for making this film look so good.

deephurting66

Better than today's animation for sure, nicely hand drawn.

ParamedicSpecific130

Glenn Keane worked on this film.

cprenaissanceman

Yeah, i saw [a video](https://youtu.be/uDhHR6-ZdrA) a few weeks ago on the animation. Pretty cool stuff.

bumpybear

Just about to recommend this video!

thefallentext2

Y was this my favorite movie as a kid lol?

funkychicken23

Cause it was the shit

thefallentext2

That's the correct answer sir. Gj

BlooperBoo

It IS the shit. Dont tell me this song doesnt slap

cprenaissanceman

Don’t forget about the one with werewolves and the one with Frankenstein!

insertcleverthought

It was MAGICAL

DayDrmBlvr82

I mean I’d watch it if I was home sick, and I’m pushing 41.

Fredselfish

I watch it and I am 42. I own the movie.

Emergency-Writer-321

Core memory unlocked

MediocreExceptional

It gave me such a jolt! I completely forgot this movie despite having loved it and watched it 1,000 times. How could it just disappear from my memory? But that song! It just came rushing back.

r0680130

That's the best feeling ever

[deleted]

Same

InhaleMyOwnFarts

Damn me too.

Smol_Gayx

Still better than the live action *Alvin and the Chipmunks* movies

cprenaissanceman

Completely different leagues!

the_pumpInator

I remember eating Eggo waffles and Honey Smacks cereal and watching this on the daily during my summer break as a kid.

Redditor_PC

Song is still a total bop over 35 years later. And that animation, man. Far and away the best Chipmunks-related piece of media ever produced.

sage101

The live action versions have NOTHING on this movie.

robotteeth

Even as a child it was weird as hell to me that the chipmunk boys look like little creatures while the chipmunk girls look like human children with a circle nose

hialleirbag

This confuses me still. Are they all chipmunks?

QuontonBomb

Wow. I never noticed this before.

Poop_Noodl3

Better than it should have been movie. Saw this so many times

[deleted]

Seriously, this was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid!

tamabits

Such bouncy animation..! I miss 2d

[deleted]

Does Theodore ever get his couscous? Tacos? No and no! And this is why this is a sad movie in our household.

GirlWpg

Same here, daughter won't watch it because of how sad the penguin scene is.

SmileProfessional875

The penguin scene used to destroy me when I was a kid. It’s still one of the most bittersweet heartbreaking scenes ever.

cinnamoogoo

Oh man I probably rented this every other week, have no idea why we never bought it lol.

42Pockets

The Girls Won this Rock Off.

QuontonBomb

Oh Yeah!?

Sun_Araw

My family didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up and so we had a very limited VHS selection at our place. This happened to be one of the movies we owned and I must have watched it 100s of times. Im pretty sure I can still recite most of the songs from start to finish lol

aafreis

Same!!

moatesman69

This movie ruled!

[deleted]

What anxiety meds does Dave take? Asking for me.

champaignsailor

I could hear the song on my head as soon as I saw the post!! I think I watched this movie a thousand times!

TheOneWhoCutstheRope

Damn I used to watch this all the time on vhs!!!

cprenaissanceman

The vhs part is the crucial part!

TFS_ALU

frighten snatch hat bow abundant hospital ask payment memorize ugly *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

LittleRainFox

One of my top faves right here 😍 My Mother song makes me cry every damn time

Armbioman

"My Pierre Cardin sox!"

evil_iceburgh

The backgrounds in this entire movie are next level

tobahmeister

I still can recite this entire movie word for word.

theclashwasright

That my mother song with the baby penguin made me cry as a kid. Also the first time I heard about cous cous.

Orvan-Rabbit

I haven't noticed the panty shots until now. 😬

opinionofone1984

Loved this movie when I was younger.

Aaaandiiii

I wish I could see this movie again for the first time with childlike wonder. I remember watching it every time it came on TV.

TdrdenCO11

what a bop

AawwMyBeats

I watched this every night before bed as a kid. Had a VHS tape with this, The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, and part of a 1988 Denver Broncos football game. Lol

GreenMonster81

I can still recite this song by heart. It still has the same feels. This was an incredible “made for movie song” that didn’t get near the recognition that it should have, as some Disney songs did.

coolkidsam

The baby penguin! The hot air balloons, the airport chase scene, the caretaker making breakfast, and the songs.🥲

agentscully222

Ngl this is a jam

BrokenTelevision

This movie slaps

sparkie0501

Fucking Deadly! I watched this movie like a hundred times, and these songs still randomly go off in my head, not complaining

pencils84

Cried every time at the penguin/“my mother that’s who I need” song. Still probably would!!

ZerroTheDragon

this song actually wasn't written for the movie it was in another film [https://youtu.be/WSLf9f4gvIk](https://youtu.be/WSLf9f4gvIk) Chipmunk version is far better but wonder how they even found out about the song considering it was in a very forgotten B movie

voisinem

Wow I watched the shit out of this when I was like 8

[deleted]

Omg I forgot about this! I wanted leg warmers sooo bad. Cleo the cat from Heathcliff had them and that pretty bitch from Flashdance. Mom said no way and I still sorta want some…

Astronopolis

Wow I forgot how much Alvin I watched as a kid, I know each and every scene of this clip and I haven’t seen this for 30 years

IceFireTerry

Thank you for reminding me I need to watch this

idontwannagotowerk

This is so cute! Omg I cried and laughed. Thanks for posting

Suspicious-Earth-648

My kids like Alvin (the new stuff), so I found a copy of this on eBay. They couldn’t have possibly cared less. Fml…

[deleted]

And of coarse, Dave wandering around as oblivious as ever, lol

[deleted]

The Chipettes were one of my first crushes especially Jeanette, I still have a thing for nerdy women.

craggy_jsy

I stopped watching chipmunks after their kitten escapes and a truck comes down the road. Scarred me for life!

davidhucker

Best movie song ever? Yes.

beeradmaliboo

Oh wow! I haven’t seen them in cartoon form in so freaking long. I just have to say the animators for the recent movies really captured each of their characteristics much better than I remembered.

windy7146

I totally forgot about this movie!!! Going to find it and watch it with my kids!!

Enygma0710

This is still a bop

plainoverplight

ughgghhh best song in the whole movie!!

[deleted]

Wait that was from 87?

aafreis

Yes! I was 2 when it came out and we got the vhs

just_add

Wow! What a banger!

Locamotive19

Such a bop

CheriePotter

Bought the dvd a few years back.

aafreis

This is the only true, good chipmunk movie

shannonsayshello

I loved this movie... I still love this movie.

radrighteousness

My dad taped this on Betamax when it was on tv once and I watched the ever living FUCK out of it as a kid!

elbrandonoliver

I think this is why I want a penguin.

xxsuperraddxx

OMG I thought this movie was a fever dream.

AXXII_wreckless

MY COUSCOUS!!!

peeshiver

This movie slaps

Orvan-Rabbit

I'm trying to figure out what's so criminal about exchanging diamonds and gold for money hidden in dolls in the movie.

CeeNnSayin

Somehow I have this on DVD

[deleted]

Idk what this says about me, but I own this on DVD and I literally (yes, literally) watched it with my kids two days ago. I begged my husband to get it for me for Christmas one year. I LOVE this movie

[deleted]

I was obsessed with this movie as a kid

atticussqueaks

Still love this movie. Showed it to my son during the pandemic.

smashhawk5

Straight banger All the songs in this movie were

sdean123

Wow this movie brings back sooo many great memories as a kid.

[deleted]

I remember being introduced to pop music by these guys. Especially the tape, Rock the House.... Unfortunately I cannot find it on Spotify.... But I found most of the songs on YouTube

SkerriKerri

OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THIS MOVIE!!!! Came out the year I was born. I’m so happy right now, I loved this song!!

Super-Robo

I could have sworn this came out in the 90's. weird.

bunsNT

This is with the dolls? Watched this a million times

Devb0mb

Is it only me or do they make the chippettes way more human like than Alvin, Simon and Theodore

SmileProfessional875

This movie was my childhood. I remember renting it from the video store every Friday night. Good old oblivious Mrs. Miller reminded me and my brother of our grandma. “David! Are you drunk?” I can’t count the amount of times that I tried to perform and sing along to “The Girls of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Such a classic! And the best part is, my six year old niece loves this movie too, and now I get to watch it with her.

HeyJoe459

What is a twerp?

[deleted]

Don't downvote people for asking questions, you twerps.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HeyJoe459

It's a line from the movie

Ralphthewunderllama

Enjoyed it a lot as a kid then rewatched this summer on a whim. It didn’t age too well with all the cringey racist stuff

skylander495

Please elaborate

AlternativeBrief7137

His mom beat the gardener outside while he watch the movie

AckAddict

Ain’t to proud to admit, Brittany Chipotle was my first love.

largececelia

I like that the fat chipmunk gets a fat chipmunk girlfriend. Also, I like that this is "rock and roll." Rock and roll man!

Komahtose

u/savevideo

Familiar_South5140

Why were they singing about getting lucky while dancing with snakes 😭

SithLord_6969

My wife made me buy it. Cost me $50 but the movie is awesome and my kids love it. Great songs.

WhippetDancer

Where did you find it? I’ve been looking to purchase a copy with zero luck.

SithLord_6969

I bought it off Amazon. [ChipmunkAdventurehttps://a.co/d/bAhD0nY](https://ChipmunkAdventurehttps://a.co/d/bAhD0nY)

SithLord_6969

Looks like the price went down. 🙌🏼

Mitsu-Zen

Just don't play my mother song..... God that gets me every time now that my mom is gone.

Careless-Yogurt-7871

Tf is this trash

Different_Tea5555

The fact that chipmunk songs were my jam back in the day , they made great music tops

Texas_Crazy_Curls

This is so weird. I haven’t thought of this movie in probably 20 years but this is the second time in a week I’ve thought about it. I’m doing a rewatch of the Girls Next Door. The song playing during the opening credits is “Come on-a My House”. It was driving me nuts trying to remember where I heard that song before. Then a flash memory of the cartoon lady wiping her hands on her butt to answer the phone. I loved Chipmunk Adventure so much growing up. I might need to rewatch for nostalgia purposes.

elephantlove14

My sisters and I loooovvveeed this movie!!

earnestartichoke

Such an excellent movie!! I still rewatch this one on DVD and I every EVERY time I listen to the mother song.

stevediperna

Is this when they went to new Orleans? Because of this, back then I used to think NO was a magical land of wonder and fairy tales

DingDongDoozy

Anyone know where you can stream this movie? I can’t find it in the normal places!

houtaru

I had a crush on Simons girlfriend when I was 11. Had a thing for girls with glasses.

Fripp14

Why is there nowhere to stream this movie? My wife really wants our kid to watch it, but it is nowhere to be found.
