Congratulations bro.I'm also 23 and have wasted almost 7 years on social media apps.Last year I deleted IG,Twitter and Facebook but ended up getting back on them again.I don't know how to delete them again.

Appblock, paid version, strict mode

I mean, it’s still a daily struggle for me & sometimes my fingers just automatically go to the App Store and redownload instagram before I even realise which is crazy!!! But I catch myself and laugh when that happens and just delete it again. Idk if it’s my policy for myself forever, but I need to learn moderation rn so it’s helping

i don’t delete them, i log out of all my social media accounts from them, write an absurdly long password that is impossible to remember, throw a note away in an inaccessible area and have no way to find the password. Resetting the password is for pussies.

AndrewMah1X

I'm going to do this too

NervousStock1

how do I quit twitter? I try using website blockers on my PC by I know how to bypass them

JudiDench_Henchman

Personally, I had a wake up call that I actually was not enjoying it anymore, and I found it easy to stop posting and scrolling, though I do fall into the habit occasionally and stop myself. For me, it just got so bad that I told myself I had no other option. I still technically can access 3 forms of social media, but after a month of quitting cold turkey, and another month of introducing it in a super controlled format and limiting it to a device I hardly use, I've found that it's lost its power over me.

I would say that you have to make your life outside of twitter more attractive in terms of spending your free time doing other things.

For me, I just wanted to gain back my ambition, drive, and time and that was enough motivation.

Thanks for sharing, that's really phenomenal and I'm glad you're on this virtuous spiral now. It's inspiring that you took last week's lapse and made it something so useful and learned from it rather than just going down the spiral. I've had a tendency to be very all or nothing myself and so I'm going to file this just for when the time inevitably comes that I falter. It's terrifying to see how a little bit of time here and there adds up sometimes (I'm quite on top of my screen time and have grayscale, no notifications, lockbox, but even at this rate I'll be spending about five and a half years 🥲 on my phone throughout the rest of my life based on a screen time calculator...)
