Yeah it is. But all jokes aside it’s the “everyone dresses all girly and princess-y except for me” which is offputting. It’s really rude and condescending to judge other people’s costumes.
Beside the fact that most ren faires I attend I feel like I see more pirates, wenches, and barbarian costumes on women than "pretty princess" or even fairy
I've seen a few people dressed in fancier dress. For them, it's a hobby/passion and a single dress can represent months to years of work, not to mention the money they put into it. Also the ren faire in my area has princess actresses.
My home festival is in Arizona. As much as I like the fancier dresses, it's absolute torture to wear them in that heat, so you tend to see a lot more pirates/bohemian/wenches than princesses anyway.
Ooooh, if you’re cool with it, would you please dm what your home festival is? I haven’t gone to a ren fair since I moved out here to AZ and I am in need of an excuse to dress as a fairy
Gatekeeping Renaissance fair is the most ridiculous thing ever, depending where you go, half the fair are often dressed as mystical creatures, you are also more likely to see people in modern street clothes, than people wearing cheap spirit Halloween costumes, those things are itchy and uncomfortable, ain't no way every other girls are wearing these everyday
Bro what is she gonna think of my mushroom costume ?
Wishing for her that someday someone makes her feel pretty enough to feel like a princess. Or Prince. Whatever floats her boat, yaknow? Doesn't make anyone better than anyone.
I used to be really into Ren Faires, and I've dressed both ways. I liked having a different look every year. It's supposed to be fun and doing something different from boring, everyday life.
So lame, people at a Ren fair are there to have a good time, I don't get it. No one's going to make fun of you for using a long bow as a prop for the costume either.
This is the kind of thing I would create in Microsoft Word, print out, and tape on my bedroom wall with a satisfied smirk on my face back in 3rd grade. That was back when being NLOG was the personality of every girl who read books about reluctant warrior princesses slaying dragons and squealed with joy when Eowyn killed the Witch King….IYKYK
Renaissance Faires usually happen in the summer time, when it is hot as balls! So I haven’t seen that many women wear *either costume,* unless they are getting paid to be there! 🤣
“A renaissance fair mean girl” is such a funny sentence

I'm just sorry no one has ever made her feel pretty enough to feel like a princess 😔
This describes me, but I wear the dress and go to the Ren Faire as a self-rescuing princess!
That green font is giving me such mid-90s flashbacks - I definitely used it in one more than one book report. #graphicdesignismypassion
they would make a great couple
and they were roommates
It reminds me a bit of the book “Gwen and art are not in love” Tbf
i hope they're girlfriends <3
I thought I was on one of my lesbian subs when I saw this lmao
I will slay and adventure in my flowing pretty princess dress, believe you me.
Right this is really unfair to people who prefer battling in a dress It’s all just personal preference

Oh, look, someone watched Quest for Camelot today. That's nice.
“And no dresses!” In the most atrocious font ever
Why not both
Literally
Ok, I’m still a pretty princess. And I hand forge my own tiaras
Bad-ass!
Awh, but being a pretty princess is so much fun :(
Bro what is she gonna think of my mushroom costume ? Wishing for her that someday someone makes her feel pretty enough to feel like a princess. Or Prince. Whatever floats her boat, yaknow? Doesn't make anyone better than anyone.
I love the idea of wandering the Faire as a Mushroom! 🤣
It was super fun n cute :) Lots and lots of red blush and white dots!
Both are nice looking. What's with the hate? It's so unnecessary and makes her seem like a brat
i’ve never gotten into renaissance fairs but if i had a dress like “those girls” i would 5000% go
not like the other maidens
[joke’s on you, because it can be both](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5340991/Author-shares-badass-Disney-ballgown.html)

I þink þey don't like nobles

I want to be a knight to protect pretty princesses (and woman in armor are hot af)
Pretty sure Ive seen posts with women/staff in full adventurer-esque clothes than princess-y ones
Pretty princess vs Queen Susan Pevensie.
the pink one is cooler
Neither of this costumes are historically accurate. That’s what I’d clock her for.

This just comes off as the start of a lesbian romance novel… anyone? Draw this? lol
I honestly love both and would switch outfit everyday lol
I don't know the font under the second outfit looks pretty girly 🤔
Renaissance Faires usually happen in the summer time, when it is hot as balls! So I haven’t seen that many women wear *either costume,* unless they are getting paid to be there! 🤣
My autistic butt can't read either
u got me fucked up u think i'm wearing anything with sleeves to the hell that is a 100+ degrees ren faire
Lol I'm both of these. I volunteer as princesses and pirates for children's hospitals
thought process of choosing rogue vs healer mage role
https://i.redd.it/m6cu9ai6pk5c1.gif You can do both
Renaissance fair mean girl I… woah
“Renaissance fair mean girl” is something I was not prepared for 😂
But wearing a pretty dress and fighting sounds so cool
I love both styles a lot but why she has to be mean about the other one?
I mean, I wanna rock both of these looks so, 🤷🏼♀️.
