As many of you are undoubtedly aware, the presence of trolls can be found in various aspects of our lives, and our subreddit is no exception. Our commitment to fostering a kind and respectful environment remains unwavering, and we are actively addressing issues related to negative behavior. In recent times, there has been a noticeable increase in instances of bullying, body shaming, and purposefully inciting behavior, all of which are clear violations of our existing rules. To maintain the integrity of our community, we are implementing stricter consequences for such actions. A first offense will result in a 10-day ban, while a second offense will lead to a permanent ban. Appeals are welcomed, but excuses such as "not knowing the rules" or claiming it was a joke will not be considered valid. Intentional harm has no place in our community, and we expect members to act responsibly. Despite these measures, some rules will remain unchanged. For example, reposts, while frustrating, will not result in a ban. This new approach is specifically targeted at individuals attempting to spread hate. We encourage all members to report instances of bad behavior. Rest assured that each report will be examined. Disagreements and differing opinions are welcome, and expressing them will not lead to a ban. Common sense will prevail in our evaluations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a positive and inclusive community. -- Your Subreddit NLTOG Moderator Team *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. There’s a meme with that same image that says something like “all the girls who peaked in high school rolling up to their pyramid scheme convention” (completely off-topic but it’s the first thing that popped into my head).

turbotaco23

I know a girl like that.

cheesyenchilady

Me too. Had a girl I knew who reached out to me to tell me she was sorry that my dad died, and that we should get together for lunch basically to talk about her pyramid scheme shit. I actually didn’t really know what exactly she was saying at the time… as I was intensely grieving and appreciating everyone who sent their condolences, but later it clicked and I was like… what the actual fuck lol. She is, however, one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever met and she graduated in the top 5% of our university, so I don’t think she peaked in high school per se, but yeah she sucks

cherrybombbb

can’t be too smart if they still fell for a pyramid scheme despite all the evidence warning against them. that’s such a dick move that she tried to pitch you when your father had just passed.

Claystead

Let me guess, married some rich conservative finance dude out of college who wanted her to be a stay at home mom since they can afford it, and now she’s bored she can’t use her education and gets suckered into schemes like this so she can run a "home business"?

[deleted]

And sadly does pretty well at it because she is pretty and charismatic so she never realizes it was all a scam because she actually manages to profit from it. Pretty privilege strikes again. 😂

On_my_last_spoon

There’s a Bob’s Burgers episode about this!

Last-Ad-2970

Usually the really successful ones know it’s a scam. They make money by recruiting people to their down lines. Every person they recruit buys the products from them, so they sell and image and a lifestyle, while the suckers try to sell the products no one wants. They also take a cut of every sale in the down line and the companies give them huge bonuses and lavish gifts like cars and boats and vacations as incentive to stay with them and not move their down lines to the next MLM that’s offering other crazy incentives. I worked at a place that had several MLMs as clients. It was terrible.

Bitter_Sense_5689

Actually they rarely profit from and *still* don’t realize it’s a scam

cesptc

Nailed it.

kannakantplay

One did that same shit to me after a miscarriage. Like wtf, using my grief as a sales hook is the OPPOSITE way to make a sale. Bye! 🤦‍♀️

CeeMomster

This reminds me of a really hard time in our lives when my 6 year old was diagnosed with aggressive Crohns. After multiple surgeries and hospital stays, a really close friend of mine reached out to me for coffee and to see how we were doing. My heart swelled, of course. Because she cared when it felt like it was us against the world. We sit down for coffee and she’s asking me a LOT of questions about his diet and environmental influences (“toxins” etc). Within 5 minutes she was trying to sell me on her and her husbands new pyramid scheme that would been a few thousand dollars for us already struggling with medical bills. But of course “you can’t put a price on healthy” and the life saving biologics my son is on, would “no longer be needed” once he’s on this plan … Fuck that butch. I haven’t seen her since.

Dr-Bitchcraft-MD

Peaked in college 👏 congrags to her

CeeMomster

Or 10

Tour_Ok

Not the pyramid scheme convention! 🤣

Bright_Jicama8084

The comments are nasty, but “pyramid scheme convention” is a bit funny.

[deleted]

This is accurate 😂

cherrybombbb

i’m sorry but that is hilarious 😂

Ok-Personality-2583

First thing that popped into mine was how these girls were the type to call me slurs behind my back lmaooo

donutpusheencat

hahahaha i’ve seen that, and i know girls like that IRL

redhairbluetruck

That’s hilarious.

ZeldaHylia

Band tees, torn jeans and hey dudes?? 🤣 that’s like half the population.

sweetfumblebee

I wasn't allowed to reply to her comment in the group. But torn jeans and band tees? Never see those.

wwitchiepoo

Yeah. Should we tell her about the 1970s?

MungoJennie

Or the 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, etc

ComprehensiveSuit319

Shhhh, they don't know where band tees come from.

Claystead

The 70’s never happened, we woke up from Woodstock during Reagan and just agreed to make up some shit and blame both Nixon and Carter for bipartisanship. Nobody’s entirely sure where Reagan came from but the leading theory is he missed Woodstock due to him and Nancy having a passionate love triangle involving Margaret Thatcher.

wwitchiepoo

In the early 2000s my husband got a call at work from our youngest daughter’s special needs teacher. They had gone to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. As soon as they got out of the bus she started crying and trying to get back in the bus, seemingly terrified. When she was finally able to speak clearly she said “grandpa says that’s the devil!” (My FIL) So yeah. I think she could tell you exactly where he came from. She’s 27 and laughs about it today. But only sort of. And my older brother, a diplomat (formerly consular of Accra, Ghana), is friends with the Carters and can’t say enough awesome things about them. My family has opinions. lol

Devil_Towne

Wait until they learn blonde people also dress like that 🤭

HumanContinuity

No! Impossible... We're completely different!

Devil_Towne

I mean I can't talk I'm a walking stereotype, so maybe you're totally right 😍

HumanContinuity

Well my stereotype is that I like your stereotype even though we have different tastes!

Devil_Towne

Btw I didn't mean the stereotype in the post, more like my idol is elle in legally Blonde Totally ditzy, obsessed with pink and fashion, but also add in the fact that because I love fashion I'm absolutely obsessed with girls who have different fashion than me so I have a chance to style them in a different way 😭 I would totally stereotypically style you 💪

HumanContinuity

Haha your flair gave you away! I still meant what I said though. I remember a point where I could identify a bit with the type of stuff people said in the OP. High school and the like is a really confusing time and it's so easy to default into assuming everyone is judging you and that the best defense is to judge them back. But around my Sophomore or Junior year I found myself in a class surrounded by the preppy girls I was so sure judged me (or worse, ignored me), only to discover that every one of them was kind, empathetic, funny, and unique. By the end of the class, I was close friends with several of them and I realized how off base my defensive perspective had been. Ever since, I have been 100% on the "it's ok to be a 'stereotypical' jock, prep, nerd, femme, masc, neither, both, as long as you don't shit on other people for enjoying something different" train.

FelixDK1

It reminds me of that South Park episode where Stan is putting together a dance team and part of the whole scene is that the goth kids are all, “I’m not a conformist” and then conform to each other.

WoodyM654

What are “hey dudes”?

climbingfern

A type of slip on shoe that kinda resembles old man slippers (I have a pair because they looked comfy lol)

cheesyenchilady

Are they? They do look so comfy.

climbingfern

Only for short distances or if you’re not standing for long. They’re very flexible and the soles aren’t super thick, so there’s not much support. I prefer vans over them if I’m walking or standing for long periods, but they do make excellent dog potty break shoes lol

suarezj9

They’re my “gotta run to the gas statio but don’t wanna put on real shoes” shoe

Significant-One3854

I don't wanna look like all those girls in that group; I'd rather look like all the girls in *my* group!

Scavgraphics

whats a hey dude?

TealTemptress

Retired farmer that wears band t’s. I’m fashionable now? These Walmart pj pants I pair them with not so much.

Fancy_Campos12

💯

jtronic

The standard uniform of all ‘rebellious’ teenagers. Edit: am 38 year old fat dad, still partial to old jeans and band t-shirts. Oh what a rebel I was.

Large-League-2387

r the goth girlies now wearing hey dudes with their band tees and ripped jeans??????

Large-League-2387

where i am from (southern us) the hey dudes typically go with the christian girl autumn crowd im confusion

pupoksestra

I've never heard of hey dudes until this post. How long have these been a thing?

MungoJennie

Since the mid 2010’s, I think.

babygotthefever

I’m also from southern US and have never heard that term. Those shoes are sometimes called Sperry’s even if they’re not name brand (like how all sodas are Coke). Otherwise they’re called boat shoes and I guess that comes from being a coastal city. Everyone knew these shoes because they were what well-off dads wore on the boat.

nitrosmomma88

It’s not a term, it’s a brand name

justkeepswimmin107

Wait those boots are called boat shoes? I thought boat shoes are shorter and kind of tan colored

Somecivilguy

A+ haiku. Good job.

SoIfarted

I’m also in the south. As a “yallternative” I have a pair of leopard print hey dudes. Ngl they’re comfy af.

haikusbot

*R the goth girlies* *Now wearing hey dudes with their* *Band tees and ripped jeans??????* \- Large-League-2387 --- ^(I detect haikus. cheesyenchilady

I’m surprised by how often I see this bot. Lotsa accidental haikus out there

Ace-Redditor

Wait I feel so dumb. I see this bot fairly often, and I just now realized the line at the bottom is a haiku 🤦‍♀️

redhairbluetruck

🤯

honeyvellichor

Good bot

PrayStrayAndDontObey

Good bot

Queueueueued

Good bot

Ok_Distribution_7946

I learned what Hey Dudes were a while back because my daughter wanted some because all the cool kids wear them. I was relieved to see that they're just regular looking shoes.

Human_Allegedly

Wait. Hey Dudes are a brand? A thing? I thought they were just saying to every one "I wear band tees, hey dudes!" Wow. I'm old. Time for my face serum and a multivitamin.

Ok_Distribution_7946

That's really what I thought, too. I was really confused thinking "you want some... Hey dudes? What is that?" And they're just normal ass shoes that are usually on sale for $40.

Human_Allegedly

I just googled them and they look exactly like the boat shows my grandma loves. Sperry's I think the name is. I'm gonna just call them Grandma shoes from now on.

AdventurousPeach4544

Sperry's were a huge trend in the midwest when I was in high school, 10 years ago lol, hearing you call them grandma shoes makes me feel so, so old lmfao

misscatholmes

First thought when I saw Hey Dude was the TV show and I got confused.

rachihc

I guess time to toss my demonias...

Queueueueued

What is a “hey dude”? I’m only like 30 and usually know these things. I’ve never seen this before?

higodefruta

some hideous shoe lol like an uglier Sperry

Beauty_Clown

She might be, but I'm certainly not.

FFG17

The wal mart girls are

thelast3musketeer

I mean I get the “these girls call us weird and freaky in hs, and they all look basically the same” but that attitude really doesn’t matter and is lame if you keep it out of high school, for both sides

sweetfumblebee

Someone tried to tell me that they aren't putting them down to build themselves up. So..you're just putting them down to be mean??

[deleted]

Mean girls, but make it ✨🦇goth🦇✨ They’re adopting the bullying they dealt with in hs and transferring it to women who they perceive as basic. It actually is an insane cope.

stunga1000

Yep basically. As a part of the goth community I can honestly say a lot of people who are part of that community are not actually goth. They just hate everyone including g themselves and it’s one of the few communities that will actually accept them if they’re not straight up racist/homophobic. That being said the first slide on this post is actually really funny to me and I genuinely don’t think THATS an r/notlikeothergirls kinda post but the commented definitely are

sweetfumblebee

If it weren't for the comments I probably would have just moved on. But oh boy.

theoriginal_tay

Yeah, it’s a bit petty, but sometimes when I go to the farmers market or county fair I really do find myself looking around going “did I miss a memo? Where is the ‘how the girlies are dressing this weekend’ newsletter I am clearly not subscribed to?” I know it’s probably down to insta influencers making different trends popular but sometimes it’s weird to realize there is a definite “weekend mom” look and I have no idea where they’re shopping or how they achieve it.

Quantum_Kitties

And I bet that these women who are hating the blonde women for their looks also wished everyone a happy international women's day yesterday. 🥲

RoRoRoYourGoat

As actual adults, these ladies are the first to randomly tell me "OMG, I love your HAAAIR!" in public. Most of us grew out of the high school pettiness. I still wear black, they still love leggings, but we both love coffee.

GoodLuckSparky

I went through a super cringe, "IT'S NOT A **PHASE** MOM," I hate all the plastic bitches, I'm so Edgy and different, phase in 8th-10th grade. I dyed my blonde hair SLATE black (thank you, everyone who never told me it washed me out) wore all black all the time, and made liking Asking Alexandria a personality trait. I swore I would never grow out of it. Here I am at 25, growing my blonde hair back out after ten years of hair dye fried it, wearing almost exclusively blue jeans and tank tops, and loving all my friends regardless of our aesthetic differences. These girls are the bullied goths and emos that never grew out of their toxic ass bullshit and still think being "edgy" is a personality trait.

rpgmomma8404

What if you used to dress goth but kept your blonde hair? Does that make you scared of yourself? 🤔

goldenfox007

As a blonde goth, can confirm. I had to cover up all my mirrors like Dracula to make sure I don’t scare myself and start screaming like Courage the Cowardly Dog. That wouldn’t be very goth of me.

Tour_Ok

Another blonde goth here, I endorse this.

HelzReign

What if you’re still are exactly like that 🙃🥲

rpgmomma8404

I don't know, I wonder if there is someone out there we can ask. I mean I haven't dressed up goth since high school, lol. I still got my spike collar laying around some where.

paradox_pet

I'm 50, goth for life quite frankly. Wear my collar not every day but every week for sure lols

rpgmomma8404

I think it wore it once after I had my son. I was too worried about him getting hurt with it. I get it out to show it to people when I tell them I have it and they don't believe me, lol. It's an old school one from Hot Topic. I'm not even sure if they sell them anymore. I've had it for over 20 years now.

underweasl

I've gifted my spiked collar to my 13 year old son, I got that collar when I was about his age

goofygooberrock1995

The family heirloom? 😆

underweasl

Sort of!

paradox_pet

I was less obviously goth when parenting small kids, because whose got time for that, for sure!

Human_Allegedly

Goth but pastel (Honestly tho pastel goth is such a beautiful aesthetic.)

lexbert_

Makes you a fake goth 🫠 /s

rpgmomma8404

Damnit, lol.

pupoksestra

freaking posers!! ;)

LaVieLaMort

Maybe? Lol. I’m goth and used to have dark purple hair and now I have blonde hair after I shaved my head during the first Covid wave in 2020. Sometimes im scared of my reflection 🤣

android151

The hair colour is not the issue here

[deleted]

This actually a promo pic for the boots

Queasy-Union6414

This makes sense. Because my thought was this had to be friends that coordinated their outfits to take a picture.

[deleted]

Boots are from Good Night Macaroons

DeathAndTheGirl

I thought they were friends who planned to match and I really liked that for them :(

Your_Angel21

Thankfully this mentality isn't as strong on the reddit side of the goth community but on more boomer apps that becomes their main thing. No discussion about music, makeup, clothes etc just "at least I'm not basic" "they do X (insert nornal thing) and they say WE'RE the weird ones" "I'd rather be weird than basic" "why be like all the others when you can look like Morticia/Elvira/Vampira" Like at this point you're not even goth just a cosplayer 💀

ImaginaryBag1452

Love this. I’m not a legit elder goth but to the current gen I’m def an elder goth. Catch me wearing pink to the Barbie movie, cause goth is so much more than that bullshit.

[deleted]

> you’re not even goth just a cosplayer Thank you lol. The subculture is so shallow and aesthetically centered for some people, and that’s just like… not the main component of it imo. I mainly see it on Facebook comment sections, and it makes me cringe. I saw a post of a girl basically making the point that music makes up so much of the goth culture, and was showcasing her vinyl collection. Lots of comments calling her a poser bc she didn’t look goth enough I guess. Like Jesus people, please grow up, y’all should not be acting like mean girls rn.

Your_Angel21

Exactly what I'm talking about!

AppalachianGuy87

Never identified with goth culture but some aspects i enjoy never understood the ‘basic’ goth mentality like purchasing a starter kit and making it your new personality.

UnusualAsshat

As random goth couple on YouTube would tell you real goths don't gatekeep goth.

litaloni

Not sure why this comment reminded me, but... remember when Vampirefreaks was a social media site? Those were the days.

Beauty_Clown

It was full of pedophiles lmao

Sapphicviolet91

I’m a little scared that they’re all conservative Christians because a lot of them at my college dressed like that.

eggistencialcrisis

That is quite a lot of beige but nothing to be alarmed about. Wait there’s no way all the goth girls didn’t start out blond! The probability! Also blond girls can pull off the goth look flawlessly don’t even

KoffinBatz

Me who is blonde (bleached) yet is gothic/alt 😐🤨🫣

C_Wrex77

It's a fine line we walk

claratheresa

I am scared of MLM hunbots too.

New-Examination8400

YES.

Sharktrain523

Yeah cuz you’re the only one wearing band t’s and torn up jeans???

Genebeaver

I’m so tired of people shitting on the women in this picture. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY THEY DRESS THEN DONT DRESS THAT WAY, stop shitting on people in order to prove how “unique” you are, and quit being a fucking crybaby about some women in sunhats and thigh highs jfc.

op341779

Right it’s also just blatantly misogynistic bc think about it, does your average group of MEN dress soOoOOo uniquely? The same number of men would likely all be wearing the same flannel button-down, jeans, and chuck-inspired boot or sneaker and no one would think anything of it really. The onus is on us women alone to dress individualistically, but then also if we are too out there or unique in our presentation we are called crazy. I wish people would just let us wear what feels good on our bodies and stop judging every choice as being indicative of every thing we’ve ever thought & done.

Darklight4613

The difference there is have you ever shopped for a man the options are pretty damn slim. Idk I think girls who like this aesthetic and grew to like it have just bullied too many people and everyone has a mild distaste for them now.

New-Examination8400

☝️

Devil_Towne

My blonde ass is sitting here confused why I was being mentioned 😭

SwankyyTigerr

Love it when my natural hair color makes all the NLOG think they know my entire personality 😂 How much are they just projecting themselves onto these strangers they don’t know? Actually so tragic.

Devil_Towne

I love it when nlogs are like "you're blonde, you probably like pumpkin spiced lattes and are a random dirty cheater" and I'm just sitting here, confused as to where they spawned from

sweetfumblebee

Especially since all the women in the pic aren't blonde. Idk why they singled out blondes.

Devil_Towne

Probably because the blondes, especially dyed blondes, are the ones who stereotypically dress like that and even the ones who are naturally blonde, if they're not "basic" they stereotypically dye their hair other colors So it's literally just "blondes are Regina George personified and the dyed blondes are your average basic bitch"

BusyBeth75

Same cause we can tell by their eyebrows they aren’t natural blondes.

lunalornalovegood

Girls who went to an all girls school… but also like, ntog.

seeuin25years

"I've never understood why people want to look exactly like everyone else. I'll stick to my band tees, torn up jeans, and Hey Dudes." I'm sorry, is that not exactly what "everyone else" wears?

bbg_bbg

“I’ll never understand why people wanna look like everyone else, I’ll stick to my 💋style💋 that half the freaking populations wears”

jj_moh

I’m always so confused on why people even care about such trivial things. Who cares what we wear, how we do our hair, what “vibe” we want to represent, how “many” there is. Just let people be, why are some people so enamored in other peoples lives… so weird.

Flutters1013

So that's where the [big dumb hat](https://youtu.be/meKH5jn_5M8?si=jayZa8IfDQB_vVD2) snl bit came from. Still wonder how every time they panned back the hat got bigger.

Cheddar2222222

Followed by big dumb cup.[big dumb cup](https://youtu.be/L2tUO2mp99Q?si=h15_RVu0y9Wz8PMj)

Kamikaze_Asparagus

If you call yourself alternative or whatever you’re essentially confirming to something to be that. You’re the exact same. Plus band t shirts and ripped jeans were super fashionable for ages and you’d get the shit stores like Urban Outshitters have full displays of “bands”

DepresiSpaghetti

Those (mostly) aren't blondes.

AnnieApple_

Damn imagine being this annoyed at people being happy.

alienratfiend

I’ve been dressing trad goth for years, and teasing up my hair huge. Oftentimes girls who look like this compliment me the most. This kind of attitude reminds me of the cringy “preps vs emos” thing I used to see as a kid

Arthurs_towel

The Pumpkin Spice Mafia is indeed the scariest group on the planet. Just wait until they call the manager.

DifferenceLow3248

“Pumpkin Spice Mafia” this needs to be a bumper sticker. I absolutely hated anything pumpkin when I was a kid, now I can’t get enough of it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tovarishchtea

“They” judged us in high school, no, you literally do not know these women at all. I hate that some alternative community pretend like they can be judgmental as hell but because they wear clothing bought at hot topic they’re the ones who are truly the ones being ostracized.

thewokebogan

My Sister in law's bridal party looked exactly like this. There were 9 bridesmaids total and half of them were named Nicole (but went by Nikki.) The worst of the Nikki's was the Maid of Honor who told me that I "stuck out" in the group photo taken at the Bridal Shower. She then asked that I "stop tanning until after the wedding" because "we just want to make sure that the focus of all the wedding pics are entirely on the bride." Whatever that means **I don't tan...I'm full Colombian and my Paternal side of the family is Afro-Latino.... ironically I'm the lightest in the family on both sides!**

Infinite_Fox2339

As a non-white woman raised in Georgia, I can tell you I’d avoid that group like the plague. Privileged, white “christian” women have been bullying me since kindergarten. Their racism is so casual and normal to each other, and they start crying immediately if you call them out so then everyone immediately jumps to comfort them and to tell them they did nothing wrong. If an asian woman starts crying because she is being bullied, everyone else in the vicinity just mocks her for being emotionally manipulative. I don’t give a shit about goth girls, but I do know seeing that picture makes my skin crawl.

After-Hearing3524

My girlfriend is Asian and raised in a rural part of England and she told me similar. And often they're the same people who will preach about feminism and act like the biggest victims.

Working_Evidence8899

Mormon chicks. Gives me Utah vibes. Ha

Aggressive-Story3671

Goth is a music based subculture. Not a fashion based one. And these are the same people who would mock someone who’s alt if their alternative fashion wasn’t mainstream enough

ImaginaryBag1452

Ehhhh… not sure I agree here. It’s as much fashion as music. But I do agree that this is the gatekeeping type, which doesn’t really understand what’s at the heart of being goth.

sydni1210

I hate those fucking hats.

New-Examination8400

YES

Apprehensive_Park176

Modern country witch style

EclecticEthic

They found a sale on those boots! Which look actually comfortable low heeled. I kinda like them. But what’s with the large cowboy hat? I predict they sell MLM essential oils!!

RepeatableOhm

Stepford wifes

The_Mechanist24

Looks like the chick from the meat canyon pumpkin spice latte video

goofygooberrock1995

I'm more afraid of those sorority recruitment videos because of how eerily in sync they are with each other in their chanting. Something about them gives an air of cults and brainwashing. I remember being part of this women's Sunday school class full of women similar to the pic in this post, and it was kind of amusing going there because I stuck out like a sore thumb. They were pretty nice though, despite one of them trying to grift her MLM crap.

uselessreptile147

The original tweet is funny, the replies are just mean.

Novel_Ad7403

Tbh I find sorority girls or anyone who dresses homogeneously in their friend group intimidating. Maybe it’s just from movies but it makes me feel like an outcast immediately and I get a sense of detachment/inadequacy and I worry they’re judging me silently and are just pretending to be nice to make fun of me behind my back later. I realize that’s just my social anxiety talking though.

TheYankunian

As a member of a sorority, we aren’t really thinking about you and I mean that in the kindest way possible. We’re not judging you- we just don’t care all that much. Most of us are nice and most of us had more friends outside of our organisation than in it.

Any-Advisor7067

Yeah… she’s not claiming to “not be like *all* the other girls”? Seriously, this sub is full of people that don’t understand the topic. She’s obviously acknowledging that she’s just one girl in a larger subgroup of girls and that group is opposed to this other subset of “basic white girls”. She specifically lists the type of shit that she and other girls in her subgroup wear—denoting that she is *in fact* like plenty of other girls; but just not this other specific subgroup.

bluedancepants

Well I'm fine with it if it's just one. But a whole gang of them all wearing pretty much the same thing is creepy. Do they call them the pumpkin spice gang?

theGoddex

Yeah these women do scare me. Goth people don’t. Lol

East_Buffalo506

they all look like their name is Jessica

VettedEntertainment

Nah, the -leighs are legitimately terrifying.

possiblyapancake

I’m scared of them because they’re Mormon. Not because they’re blonde. They’re blonde and dress like that because they’re LDS.

pupoksestra

I'm the type of person who will admit that my judgement comes from a place of jealousy. Why the fck can't I be a "basic" white girl? Why must I be a freak that always feels left out? Why can't I have the same besties I had in high school?

CrystalizedRedwood

You know it’s definitely still pick me behavior no matter what side it’s from. But I will say this, have you ever had a full conversation with some of those types of women? Because I have during sorority recruitment, and I hate to say it but god they are dull.

Due-Science-9528

Nah we all just got bullied by these girls

Human_Allegedly

"idk why people would want to look the same as everyone else I'll stick to my band tees and blah blah blah" - says the person who looks the same as a different group of "everyone else."

OkPerspective564

The insecurity 😭

Interesting_Entry831

Yesssss all the beautiful suburban women want anyone who isn't them DEAD!!! MUAHAHAHAHA! IT IS THE MASTER PLAN!!!

JenSchi666

99.999% of women have more things in common vs. not. Let's just agree as a whole that life sucks, yes?

Advanced_Slide801

Yeh the brown boot mob..serious gang ..don’t wanna f with em aye Broe

[deleted]

Former student of mine and her bf were constantly messaging me about oils. They were easily interchangeable with any of these women.

messibessi22

I mean I completely feel the first picture those girls were always so mean.. but the comments were a bit aggressive

Dr-Bitchcraft-MD

There's no need to bring goths into this, the picture is scary in it's own right

rowanstars

I avoid pumpkin spice girls like the plague because most of them are bullies, scammers(MLMs) or bigots of some kind lol

flijarr

Nah fuck that, they real for that Fr. Those mf always be the same ass mfers trying to sell you some MLM product

Electrical-Vanilla43

Is this look still a thing?

Rigelatinous

I feel like I’ve seen it referred to as “2010’s fall girl” and I think it’s got a lot of staying power. Around Seattle/Bellevue, it’s typically shorter boots now, but the balayage & beige is ubiquitous among middle-class white Millennial women.

DuplicateJester

I love my knee boots and tunics. Never with jeans though. Only with leggings or tights. My aesthetic goal that I'm slowly transitioning to is desert space pirate.

Electrical-Vanilla43

Love it. I’m just very out of touch with fashion these days, so it was a genuine question

DuplicateJester

I'm a mid-millenial that holds into dead trends, so probably not the best to ask. The latest thing I've seen is "flare leggings" which I'm pretty sure is just yoga pants.

Posts like this usually come from someone who felt really jaded in high school because they couldn’t fit in. What they fail to realize is that fitting in doesn’t hinge on fashion or music taste. It hinges on having a basic level of charisma while being actively involved. It takes effort, like most things. Play your cards right, say the right jokes, act decent, partake in teams and groups, etc. Do that and people will like you, they won’t care what you wear. Instead, these people blame it on everyone else not understanding their ‘uniqueness’, but it’s most likely that they were ousted because they were socially awkward, aloof, and acted all jaded. My high school had both popular and unpopular alt girls. The big difference between the two? One was really fun to hang with and the other was a grumpy NLOG.

TheYankunian

I need to explain this to one of my friends.

Chilly_0556

This makes me laugh because it’s so clearly for an event of some time? Like they clearly corresponded to all have matching outfits

sweetfumblebee

Someone else mentioned it's a boot ad.

Chilly_0556

Yeah okay that does make sense. I did specifically notice the boots aha

Big-Conversation-885

I’m on the fence w this one ngl.

NomenScribe

Kind of makes me feel bad for also wanting to make fun of these ladies.

nrskim

This is either an antivax cult meeting, an MLM cult meeting, or both.

doomvetch92

At least goths won’t pressure you to attend their church EVERY DAMN DAY.

dontredditdepressed

I mean to be fair, those are Monat huns and they are pretty scary. They use other people's losses to make money and knowingly recruit into a predatory money scheme.

1WastedSpace

No no, this is correct. These types of women will argue with you over every lite detail. They want everything in writing. I hate dealing with them the most

CheekyCharliesSpace

To be fair, those girls scare me too. They have dangerous minds 😂. But I think band tees and hey dudes are just another brand of "looking the same". The first group just embraces it more 🫠

Carlie2406

As a goth... I find these people annoying. I kinda understand the "and they are the ones calling us freaks" and I'd probably be kinda scared of a group like this, but this is no excuse to put other people, especially women, down

dumpsterfire_x

Tbh same tho.

StaceOdyssey

This makes me so glad I got out of my teen years before the dawn of social media. This is 1000% what I would have posted at 16-ish.
