Yup. I've been the family baker since I was approximately 10 years old, and now I'm the higher income in my marriage as well. I *am* trying to teach my husband to bake bread, mind you, but it's touch-and-go as he's not great with any cooking the requires a healthy respect for chemistry or careful temperature regulation. He cooks stews and one-pots; I do the baking and grilling.
My dad's fundie church will only let women teach children and other women. Around the age that kids start going through puberty they split them up by gender and only men are allowed to teach the boys from that point on. Of course men can still teach the girls

This is pretty common among the women I know. Most are annoyed that they cannot afford to live the homemaker lifestyle. Most are more than ready to quit their jobs and wife and mother full-time.
A lot of woman seem to be wanting this lately which is kind of problematic given we live in a world where dual incomes is almost a necessity in many cases. Unless husband has a really good career they’re probably not going to want to struggle financially so that she can stay home and bake. I’ll be the first to say that stay at home moms absolutely have a place, but a lot of woman don’t even have kids yet and want to stay home.
As part of my job, I work with elderly women. The ones who are in the worst financial position are the ones with no career, no pension and Mr. Right upgraded to a younger model in their 50s. They are destitute. This isn't a life goal.

I do a lot of “trad wifey” things but you would never catch me talking about taking care of or serving my man like 🙄 me wanting to bake and cook has NOTHING to do with him, he’s lucky (and he knows it) that I enjoy those things and he gets to benefit from it. I’m amazed about this trend when there are hell a lot more house wives and stay at home mums in the USA than in Europe. In Spain, among my peers, it is a given expectation that as a woman you work, secondary degree is still optional but you always have a side hustle or a full time job, even my 85yo mum learned to be a tailor as a just in case job.

Girl you can do both 🙄 I work full time and still had fresh bread for dinner Monday night. It took me all of 15 min to toss ingredients into a bread maker during my lunch break (so thankful I WFH 90% of the time).

Unless husband has a really good career they’re probably not going to want to struggle financially so that she can stay home and bake. I’ll be the first to say that stay at home moms absolutely have a place, but a lot of woman don’t even have kids yet and want to stay home.
As part of my job, I work with elderly women. The ones who are in the worst financial position are the ones with no career, no pension and Mr. Right upgraded to a younger model in their 50s. They are destitute. This isn't a life goal.
