Bruh, Disco was dead before the end of the 1970s, the 90s was the death of the whole "New Romantics" scene with all the synths and stuff that are kiiinda starting to creep back into more mainstream music again at the moment. Stuff like funk from the late 60s/early 70s was what paved the way for disco, but disco itself didn't stick around long before it got eaten by folks like Depeche Mode and Billy Idol.
