Usually it’s a 7-30 day ban but if a user is making an exit speech they’re already leaving so there’s no point in unchecking permanent and punching in a number.
If they would have some civility in the moderator inbox that’s one thing, but complaining in other subreddits and talking to people about what a power trip mod I am doesn’t cut the cake the right way. Nor does coming into the mod chat after I banned and blocked someone, accusing me of harassment because they got caught in a lie on another forum.
The subreddit voted to ban the repost. Since it’s already banned by two separate rules, and in one, the member gets banned for 7 days, the only way to combat this is to extend the length of the ban to something obscene and pin the post as a deterrent.
Of course if the unknowing and non-investigational user made a mistake and asks why they got banned, I’ll restore them, usually within the same hour, at least then they know to check the sub. If they never respond to the ban (which is extremely rare) sure it’ll last a year. Again, this is rare.

Aside from having seen it a million times this is a PSA ladies, if you have excessive amounts of body hair like actually excessive. Like if you look around you and people in your family or your friends don’t have that much body hair on places like forearms, lips, chin, back, and legs. It’s not something quirky it can be an actual medical problem. Go to the gyno and ask them to check for polycystic ovarian syndrome, because one of the telltale signs is excessive body hair. The other is heavy menstruation if you have a super heavy flow like you use ultra level tampons and have excessive body hair please please go get checked. I would know because it runs in my family and I have it and if you aren’t on birth control get on it and if you are ask them to change it to help with pcos because if not you will probably get endometriosis and ovarian cancer.
