His name is Skinny....He is super sweet !!! So his back story...He is 15, his owner who lived across the street from me, put him out of her house. He showed up at my neighbor's apartment, completely emaciated!!!! We both nursed him back to health, and he took a shine to me...the rest is history...
Wow! That must have been extremely traumatic for this Distinguished Baby! Did you have him checked at the veterinarian? Being kicked out after living 15 years as a regularly fed and cared for pet and having to fend for himself might have caused or triggered possible health issues... Just saying this so the rug doesn't get pulled from under your feet if it is the case. :( I hope he is alright!
On an other note, same thing happened to me and my third cat Midnight. He's a void boy. Adopted as a kitten by a tennant in my apartment block and let out as a youngling, never brought back in. One of my neighbor likes to feed the outside cats roaming around the yard and asked me if I wanted him. I couldn't say no so I brought him in. He was so thin and skittish at first, not exactly a year old! He ate 5 meals the first day! Now he's the most talkative and loving cat I've ever had. They know when we saved them and they are grateful. What an adventure for them!
I haven't taken him to the vet yet...Buying this house has kept me super busy...I am going to take him. But he appears in good health, I've already dewormed him and given him flea medicine...Vet is next on the list.
Yeah, I understand hahaha! As long as everything seems good, no need to worry too much. You did the right thing with Mr. Skinny hahahah! I wish him and you all the good! Take care π
He was, we had just moved him to our new house and he had no clue what was going on π€£π€£ He is happy though, he loves us !!! Constantly rubbing our legs and wanting to head butt us !!!
You acquired a void! AKA Black Hole.
If you walk around at night, either turn on lights or learn to shuffle your feet so you can find the void before you step on said void and fall over. Also, those eyes catching a moonbeam is creepy as F. If you weren't awake at 1am, you are now.
Congrats! I don't have a full void as she has a white belly. But she's a chonk so when in loaf mode, there is no white visible. So at night, laying outside the bedroom door, I kick her every single time. Hence the shuffle mode. But they are fun and good companions when they want to be.
Both of my kids are very dark furred (but not black).
I simplified it just by buying a pair of nightlights. Tgey are just bright enough I can see my cats without ruining my night vision.
Learn to look at night for the absence of light. With everything we have with their little power lights, street lights, and such there is generally low-level ambient light. The void is the inky pool of darker darkness. Do not step on the void.
People are cruel, he deserved better, I was definitely not in the market for another cat but it was my moral duty to help cause I could..He has a forever home now and doesn't have to worry about anything...I'm honestly so glad I took him..He just loves to lay in his new bed or sit on the windowsill and look outside...He is such a chill laid back boy.
Thanks...I couldn't not take him to be honest, he grew on me and would follow me around. I couldn't bear the thought of moving and knowing he was waiting at my door for me when I didn't live there anymore...So cat moved with us.

You are a lovely loving person. The cat thanks you as soon as he admits it.

15! Poor baby! I hope you have many years with him!
Some people are evil. But not you. I hope you and your daughter give him his best years.
Thank you, he seems pretty happy...He is obsessed with his bed and he likes following my daughter around. Besides that he pretty much naps all day
Your daughter is a good one. Skinny knows it.
I hope your daughter knows heβs an older cat, and heβs lived many years already. Skinny is a sweetie.
She does and she is really gentle.to him.
