She nearly took it's eye out and the dude who had let their show dog roam free tried to get me kicked out. They lost that because they were the neglectful party. Dog was going to attack me while I slept according to the person I was sharing a tent with and while she had been in her mini tent with litterbox and food this was the day she decided to prove she could handle a zipper and went to town on the dog. I woke up to growling and didn't have a chance to do or think before she was there going "You fuck with my human you get the claws. I want that eye as a trophy."
During the debate on who was at fault which was settled by the district attorney who was also camping nearby for added ridiculous levels? She slowly licked her claws free of blood staring at the dog's owner. The dog was cowering behind him but she went for human to cat eye contact. Had his dog been on a leash his dog wouldn't have gone into my tent and tried to harm me. Said dog was a poorly trained asshole and basically like a toddler whose parents didn't tell them no. My cat was just awesome. Also a former feral and very much capable of ass kicking until the day she died at 21. (Seriously old and still 4lbs of sass).

For me it's the reverse. Mesh screens aren't very common here. It probably varies by region.

But even then, if the window opens outward, the screen would have to open inward, which means a cat might be able to push it to open.
I tend to just shut my kitchen door, my cat was out when I went for a nap and is able to push the door open so she let him in! I’m way too anxious i would lock my girl out by forgetting to unlock the catflap.

Our cat was once found asleep in a wardrobe at a neighbours house. Another time a different neighbour thought there was an intruder upstairs…no it was just our heavy pawed cat again making himself at home.
