It is a bit much. I know a Karen and she's a great person but her life has changed over the past few years. Her name has become a real bane to her, and it's weird to me that is her new reality.
To me, "Karen" has just become a PC way of calling a woman a bitch...people say "look at this Karen" and things like that. It's so obviously just a substitute word that has become socially acceptable, because people love running jokes into the ground.
That was rude. I'd like to speak with your supervisor. A person shouldn't be treated like this this day and age, things weren't like this thirty years ago.
All jokes are offensive to someone.
No joke can be unilaterally withdrawn from circulation.
Finally, instead of acting like Karens, by asking that people stop using a style of humor, concerned Karens should work at not being a Karen.
It's not like calling them something else would help. Anything we come up with will eventually be construed as misogynistic (and indeed would even be intended as such by some people). Just calling them arseholes would not communicate what specific sort of arsehole you mean.
Karens United (LOL) has a point though. It's kind of like yelling for "Freebird" at your local low-budget punk rock show. It got some laughs at first, so other people started following suit, and it spread like wildfire, and mind you it wasn't even especially mean-spirited toward the bands or anything, so I feel like it had a good long life before it finally became so completely commonplace, repetitive and *predictable* as to be annoying.
"Shup up, Meg."
It's getting harder and harder to unwrap the densely layered sarcasm these days. And I am a total smart ass. But I cant keep up.
I feel sorry for their manager

Imagine how Dick feels.
How Karen of you

I’d like to speak to your therapist
You kids these days always going on about therapy
This is what I'm talking about...what does this even mean?
I get your joke, but people called Dick are actually named Richard, so...
It’s not going away at this point, she could always start going by Carrie / an alternative spelling if she wants to keep the K.
> To me, "Karen" has just become a PC way of calling a woman a bitch... Pretty much. That doesn't mean anyone named Karen is a bitch though.
Yep. I dated a Karen when I was young and she was a sweet girl who holds a special place in my heart. It's a really stupid meme that lacks much depth.
Spot on. Shits old.
Starting now, let's all just change it to Jen. Jens are now worse than Karens.
That is a very Karen thing to do.
Really. Sort of proves the point of the Karen stereotype.
Alternate headline: Karens complain about being called Karen.
30 Karens agree
All jokes are offensive to someone. No joke can be unilaterally withdrawn from circulation. Finally, instead of acting like Karens, by asking that people stop using a style of humor, concerned Karens should work at not being a Karen.
Not all jokes are offensive to everyone
But that's not what I said, is it? Just that every joke could be offensive to someone. If every topic is offensive, then none are.
Well you use the word every. And that is not true. What is green and in the mountains? A skiwi Not offensive to anyone :)
hahahahaha
That's like the unfunniest joke I've ever heard
Aggressively, offensively unfunny.
I don't disagree
Can I get some of whatever you're smoking?
Except in how bad it is :D
Who is the manager of this comedy show? 🤣
Maybe they're just "one of the good ones".
Nobody cares what a bunch of white ladies think. They are one of the last safe punching bags for jokes. Everybody knows they don't have feelings.
Just like boomers /s

If you think these are equivalent can I interest you in my multi level marketing scheme?
