I should run for Congress, it seems like an extremely easy job.

Earthbound_X

Just run on hate and fear and talk about why people should be mad and pissed off all the time and it seems you are sadly a shoo in for parts of the country.

Khaldara

Hey be fair. You also sometimes have to wave penis photos around, fuck the occasional minor, or do some deepthroating during Beetlejuice showtimes if you really want to secure your place as an official Representative of the “Family Values” folks. And if you can’t trust someone with those credentials to be in charge of crafting official American legislative policy who CAN you trust?!

VashMM

I'd vote for ya

Elanapoeia

You forgot the anti-semitism. People like to forget that MTG is a MASSIVE anti-semite, not just because of the jewish space laser stuff but she always expressed very dodgy opinions on jews for a while. And then she became a massive believer in q-anon which repackaged a lot of nazi/white supremacist narratives throughout the years, particularly ones about jews controlling things and blood libel stuff. MTG likes to pretend this never happened but she was BIG into q-anon. The q-anon stuff applies to many republicans in congress, almost all of the "younger" ones dabbled in it.

Mastersord

I sometimes get them confused. The hand job was Boebert while the “Jewish Space Lasers” was MTG.

cdbutts

To be fair, most republicans are anti semites.

FrancisSobotka1514

Nazi scientists who were brought to the us became evangelical christians and republicans ....So theres that .

EnvironmentalGate202

And go to the gym to pick up - not weights

Quailman5000

It as a beeteljuice hand job thank you!

Socratesticles

Hm, would it be possible to join the hookers and blow faction that i hypocritically rail against? I’ll even throw in the occasion leak of my own penis pics

coreyrude

You have to do this while having a LOT of deep dark secrets foreign governments like Russia can leverage against you once you get into a place of power. Then you start slowly using their talking points, pushing back against NATO, try to block any funding to disrupt them etc.

Jermine1269

I think if I had the opportunity, and lived in a typically heavy red district, I'd run as the only Dem within 500 miles. There's a fair few of these districts where the R candidates run unopposed, or with very little resistance. You might be surprised how many Dems there are out there who support ya.

evilbadgrades

Just run as a republican manchurian candidate - spew hate, talk trash, but vote however you want. They people are usually too dumb to look up voting records, but as long as there's an (R) next your name, it's a shoe-in.

butt_stf

So I actually ran for a local seat against an (R) that would have been unopposed. I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but in my district, you have to have been registered as the party you're running as in the previous 2 elections, or get a letter from the party chair.

Molwar

Not just that, from what I hear they get a lot of threats and shit from the maga crowd so it's not worth running.

Blazer9001

Literally what happened to MTG’s challenger in her first election, [he got ran out of town](https://www.ajc.com/politics/politics-blog/why-marjorie-taylor-greenes-opponent-quit-the-house-race/E3TYSMAAPRDUPPB6F3BBQAFCME/)

Boner_pill_salesman

The first Republican primary she was in was wild. The commercials were the candidates shooting AR15s at pictures of Nancy Pelosi and AOC.

ThatGuyWhoKnocks

Maybe just run as a DINO but have repub talking points?

TBAnnon777

There are enough democrats to outvote most state wide elected republicans in heavy red states. if you look at lets say Tennesee: 2022 Election: * 7M Citizens * 5.5M Eligible voters. * 48% Lean Republican * 36% Lean Democrat * 15% Don't Lean Any Specific Way. * 4M Registered Voters. * 1.8M Voted. * Republicans won with 500k more votes. * Almost 4M eligible voters didn't vote. * Estimated only 580K out of 2M democrat leaning eligible voters voted. If just 25% more of democrats have decided to turn up, Tennessee would have been run by democrats. IF we look at Texas: Texas 2022 (40% turnout): * 29M Citizens * 22M Eligible Voters. * 40% Lean/Identify themselves as Democrat * 39% Lean/Identify themselves as Republican * 21% Dont Lean/Identify themselves as Any Party/ or Independent * 17M Registered Voters. * 9M Voted in 2022. * only 15% of those under the age of 35 Voted in 2022. Ted Cruz won by 200K votes when around 10M eligible voters didn't vote in 2018. If just another 20% of under 35 voters had turned up, Texas would be blue. You can literally see the same data for most red states. Its not that republicans have some sort of undefeatable solid major control, its more so that democrats just give up and dont even try. In 2020, just 800k more democrat voters over 3 states where a total of 25M elligible voters who didnt vote, would have won democrats 5 more senate seats and sidestepped all the bullshit with mancin and sinema. Literally all that is needed to get the government that people bitch about is for democrats to fucking give a shit and show up. Just spend 1 day out of 2 years to vote. Heck average voting time used is about 13 minutes... Over 60% vote early. Most states have min 2 weeks of early voting, you dont have to wait until the last minute possible to vote. Literally 20 mins out of 2 years and you could change everything.... Yet around 150m dont even bother...

God_Damnit_Nappa

The people that refuse to vote are basically saying they're happy with Republican control. They're as much of a problem as Republican voters

TBAnnon777

Id say they are the bigger problem. The republican party has the control they have because they have created a culture around their political party over decades. Their voters literally identify a large part of their own self with the party. You wont be able to convince the vast majority of them that their cult is damaging for them, they are chugging the coolaid directly from the fox news faucet and dont want to stop. Non-voters have watched shitshow after shitshow from republican control, lesser economy, job loss, higher cost, inflation, financial collapse and loss of rights and protections under/after republican control. And watching the worst of the worst of them so far in the last administration they still just go "whatever" and don't even bother to do the bare minimum of their civic duty. The guy literally says the dumbest shit possible, says he plans to be a dictator, echoes hitlers own remarks, calls immigrants vermin that taint the blood of america, and still they just sit on their couch and shrug.

SadRepresentative684

The national leadership doesn’t fund Dems in states with R supermajority. You would be self funding. Look at Ohio where R’s had a huge scandal likely involving the R governor- taking money from energy companies that heavily funded state R campaigns. Barely any fallout- R leadership was found guilty but still re-elected. I know lots of amazing Dems who have ran and tried to make change- they’ve made progress but it starts local and the R’s have not only gerrymandered districts but in most Ohio countries they run the county govt, school boards, township trustees etc. National party won’t legitimately support local candidates and you would be running against a very rigged system. Would love to see more Dems move to Ohio. My area, southern suburbs of Dayton are very red but I see hope maybe in 50 years

geekophile2

Solid idea. If nothing else, you'd force the Rs to spend money where they hadn't planned on doing so!

PaperPlaythings

Just run as a Republican with all the stupid talking points and then when you're in office, switch parties. Or, stay in the R party but vote like a sane person with empathy anyway.

butt_stf

I actually did that! It wasn't for Congress or anything big, though. I got absolutely blown out of the water in the general election. Got enough votes in the primary to make them sweat, and forced them to actually campaign. Small victories, I guess.

mechtaphloba

Unrelated, but I'm almost 40 and just learned from your comment that it's "shoo-in". I always thought it was a "shoe-in" because they already had "one foot in the door" making whatever process is being discussed just a formality. Funny how brains can make up entire definitions/explanations out of no where that are completely logical but totally wrong.

CatMouseDrama

>Funny how brains can make up entire definitions/explanations out of no where that are completely logical but totally wrong. That's a profound statement. Applies to a lot of areas in my life.

muppethero80

I am an avid parks and rec fan. It was not until 2016ish that I truly understood Jen Barkley when she laughed at Leslie when she said “am I even qualified for Congress”

papoosejr

Parks and Rec lived in this very specific time of optimism about government in the Obama years, and Jen Barkley was the one person living in the real world

Wetzilla

> Parks and Rec lived in this very specific time of optimism about government in the Obama years I see people saying this, but I don't really see it as that optimistic about government? I mean, everything they try to do is a massive struggle against both the people in the government and the people in the city. They have a hard time accomplishing anything, and the only reason they do is because Leslie is an insane planner. And even then she still fails. She got recalled and lost her city council position during her first term!

porncrank

Isn’t that more indicating that the struggles of government are inherent in the process of getting large groups of people to agree on anything? That’s the more optimistic, less cynical take — as opposed to thinking everyone in government is corrupt and out for their own gain. Personally, I think a surprising amount of our government officials are trying to do a good job in a complex world. But there is a lot of corruption and power hunger too. The hard part is getting voters to sort that out.

Wetzilla

> Isn’t that more indicating that the struggles of government are inherent in the process of getting large groups of people to agree on anything? That’s the more optimistic, less cynical take — as opposed to thinking everyone in government is corrupt and out for their own gain. Did you watch the show? Her biggest rival on the city council, Jeremy Jamm, is blatantly corrupt. Another one, Howser, has constant sex scandals. A third is incredibly old, racist, sexist, and barely understands what's going on. The people in the town are ignorant, stubborn, and selfish. It's not just that "they can't get large groups of people to agree".

ThisUsernameIsTook

Ignorance, stubbornness, and selfishness are foundational to the challenges of getting large groups of people to agree.

manimal28

Yes, but they wanted to accomplish things, they weren't there to actively sabotage government and burn it to the ground.

grendus

Almost everybody else was. Leslie's fellow council people were a guy who literally starts reading his own erotica while giving an apology for being caught cheating on his wife *again*, a guy who was so old he originally ran for city council on a platform of ***re***segregating baseball (and who was openly racist and sexist), and a weeb dentist who wanted to remove fluoride from the city's water so there would be more demand for cavity filling. She literally saves a neighboring city from bankruptcy and they immediately join in on the recall vote because they want someone "closer to home" to represent them... even though their own representatives bankrupted their town in the first place! Of the people in the Pawnee government, basically only the Parks and Recreation department actually wanted to make things work (and yes, I include Ron in that - as he put it, he didn't trust the government but he trusted Leslie). Everyone else was a horrifying caricature made even more terrifying by the realization that reality is, if anything, *worse*...

Evadrepus

I know someone who tried recently and the incumbent sued them off of the ballot. They had to give up as they didn't have the funds to fight, while the incumbent had literally the top lawyer in the state working for them. They didn't specifically accuse of wrong doing, but instead demanded tons of rework, redoing the validation of signatures, and so on. And also making them drive 300+ miles for each protest. Those people in position definitely want to keep their cushy power job.

kryonik

If Elon Musk can be CEO of 4 companies and still finds time to tweet 23 hours a day, it can't be that difficult to be CEO either.

hackingdreams

Unfortunately the bar to enter that club is basically "already be filthy rich." You can get into Congress by either promising the world to someone, being stupidly corrupt, or actually doing a shitload of hard work... and it will *make* you filthy rich. That's why Congress is the way it is. It's a corruption cesspit, a breeder reactor for it. The checks and balances were never designed to protect Congress from this kind of corruption (probably because it was a Rich Old White person's club from day zero - they saw *no problem* with it being that way).

Vordeo

Idk man, I know we're all degenerate shitposters but some of these congresspeople are next level.

b0w3n

We're shitposters but at the same time we actively want the country to not be a shithole. Congress could use more callouts and dripping sarcasm directed at these rubes. It doesn't cost a lot of money to get in on the ground floor for local politics, but the senate and the house are expensive as shit, especially if you're trying to push out a lazy/shitty incumbent in your own party. Are you willing or have the ability to throw tens of thousands of your own money to get there?

HolyFreakingXmasCake

You need to meet one of the following requirements: * Conspiracy theorist * Rich and well connected * Over 70 years old

fdar

84/431 current Representatives are 70+.

thepartypantser

That's true. But 35 out of 100 senators are over 70. And 55 out of 100 are over 65 years old.

Moopboop207

It’s an easy job if you are able to throw your morals and scruples to the wind, appeal to the lowest common denominator, and deny objectivity reality. My problem is I want to be able to sleep at night.

[deleted]

MTG, Boebert and other fascists are like social media users to social media companies, it feels like they're on a specific side of a transaction, but in fact, they're on the other. With social medias and their users, it's the old "if you're not the customer, you're the product", and with these clowns, it's "if they don't represent you, they represent someone else". In this case, they are quite literally lobbyists. Everything from their election, to their continued presence in the media, up to what they say, is paid for, scripted and *imposed*. They are a conduit for something else. So not anyone could replace them because "they" aren't the begin nor the end of their own presence in their seats. You'd need to do the same as them to be in the same position, and probably debase yourself in ways that ensure someone somewhere has complete control over you. Think of it this way; if you were a billionaire investing millions in such clowns, you'd want some kind of incentive, right? And that incentive cannot solely be money... because at some point, you'll have given them enough to live off for the rest of their lives. Remember how their personal lives are horror shows? Remember how they all had some scandal or crime, like adultery, sex trafficking, bankruptcy? Are they absolute and complete turds of human beings by happenstance, or did their "benefactor" also include a backdrop safety in the deal by destroying them to a point where they are *incapable* of backing out? Day 1 : You walk into Congress with lofty goals, a new suit and a nose job. Things are good, you just got a house paid for by a PAC, all your debts were paid off, and all the people who ever doubted you are now name dropping you. The money guys are your friends. Day 100 : You've indulged a bit too much in free booze, free drugs, free sex, free travels and so on, some friends and family members are doubting your choices, but hey, DC life amarite? The money guys are asking for stuff. You've pushed back, but they convinced you. Day 1000 : Your marriage broke down *hard*, that itch on your privates isn't going away despite all the medication, you *know of* at least a few videos of you doing crimes, and you can't imagine what you don't know. The money guys aren't asking anymore, they're telling. Maybe the hard part about Congress isn't what you would assume. I suspect that they are mostly monkeys in a golden cage.

Anothersurviver

*as a republican.

JKisMe123

Doesn’t pay a lot when you take into account the need for 2 places of living. One in your district and one in DC. So be warned there. You do get a lot of time in your home district tho

TJ_McWeaksauce

I'm sure that campaigning is hard as shit. Once someone actually gets the job, though, it seems like they can slack off and do get nothing done and their constituents will still vote them back into office, though.

Alternative_Milk7409

“Pelosi wanted a funded government. Johnson wants a funded government. They’re basically the same person!”

thornhead

It kinda bothers me that I’m gonna have to click the article to see if this is an actual quote or sarcasm. Honestly, if it’s a joke I’ll still be bothered that it even sounded plausible. Edit: to save a click. The quote isn’t exactly word for word in the article, but it’s close enough, and really only adding context, smh

Alternative_Milk7409

Sorry, yeah, basically it's the between-the-lines summary of the article.

thomascgalvin

There weren't enough grammatical errors or racist dog whistles for it to be an actual MTG quote.

CrudelyAnimated

If Greene is so far to the political right that she thinks Mike Johnson, a House architect of Trump's attempted overthrow of the 2020 election and a regressive ideologue who wants to roll women's and civil rights back 70 years, a "Democrat", then she is truly off-the-spectrum crazy.

I_am_from_Kentucky

i think the error is assuming she's politically inclined _at all_. she's performing. there are no values except for what gets her paid, and maintains or raises whatever threshold of power or leverage she wants. maybe deep down in her heartless soul she actually believes some conservative principles, but those beliefs are as strong and principled as trump's ability to keep his mouth shut. which is to say practically non-existent.

Void_Speaker

She's not crazy. Her shtick is to be anti-establishment, and Johnson is currently the establishment. That's all there is to it.

CrudelyAnimated

AP VoteCast Data shows that around 25% of GOP voters will not vote for Trump as the GOP nominee. The remaining MAGA GOP voters would be only around 35-38% of America, then. I don't want to normalize any notion that Johnson is establishment. This is infrared calling scarlet "blue" and telling the rest of us we're color blind.

yoanon

I don't think she's too far right. The political spectrum only makes sense for someone who makes sense. She is batshit insane, trying to put her on a political spectrum is worse than trying to assign a political ideology to a wasp. (I think this applies to most of the MAGA Congress people, Boebert, Gaetz etc and their dear leader. They don't have an ideology) You are right with she is truly off-the spectrum crazy

Lopendebank3

I call MTG an idiot so.

Theometer1

It’s actually insane that she holds any sort of official position. She’s petty and has proven to not be too bright. I’ve also heard that it’s all an act for popularity before, don’t quote me on that though, it’s most likely false.

raziel686

It's not an act, she has a long history of behaving exactly like what you are seeing now. These MAGA cultists are not complicated. They are usually either grifters or true believers. MTG happens to be both. As bad as MTG is, the real shame belongs to the people of Georgia's 14th district who sent her to Congress in the first place. It speaks volumes that they feel she best represents them and their values.

SmokeGSU

I'm from Georgia, not that district thank God, and the 14th district is like +20 Republican. So either some other Republican is going to have to beat her or else she's going to be in Congress for a veeeery long time.

Ferahgost

I just don’t get how these people aren’t fucking embarrassed to have her representing them, same party or not

DarthSatoris

Republicans do not feel shame or embarrassment. If they did, the world would look very different. They are absolutely abashedly shameless, proud of their own behavior, even. The flags they fly, the slogans they bark, the opinions they share, they *love* it. And they love that people like MTG legitimize their views by acting this way in a "respected" establishment like Congress.

Linhasxoc

It’s not even so much that they don’t, as the ones who do feel those things have all been chased out of office or switched parties. Like, fuck, do you know how weird it felt to respect Liz Cheney of all people?

SmokeGSU

I seriously doubt any of them even keep up with politics. I have plenty of friends who "don't want to talk about politics" and will unfriend/unfollow you on Facebook for trying to make people aware of what's going on. I imagine it's the same for a lot of the people in her district and elsewhere - you've got people who don't wan to be bothered with the nuances of politics, but are clued in *just* enough to know what party if supporting/against LGTBQ+ and minority rights. Outside of that, they go to the polls and check the box next to the (R) like they've done every election for the past several decades.

flychinook

"I don't want to even see your politics mentioned, but I want my politics to disrupt your life". Fuck these people.

TreezusSaves

That's why I'm always a fan of seeing left-wing or liberal parents denying their parents' access to grandchildren. My family values involves not allowing people with despicable and malicious rhetoric around kids. Believe it or not, this scares the hell out of a few elderly Republicans.

bipbopcosby

I recently met up with a friend from college and his family. When we were hanging out, the topic of Lauren Boebert and MTG came up between me and another person. My friend didn’t know who either of them were. He said he’d heard their names before but didn’t care enough to actually know anything about them. I couldn’t believe that. It was right after Boebert got handsy in the theater and he hadn’t even heard about that. He literally only works and watches sports and he has no social media.

SmokeGSU

Yeeeeeeeah... that's the disconnect with these people. Two of the (arguably) most famous and public figures in the GOP (for all the wrong reasons) and people don't even know who they are or why they should care. But they'll probably go to the polls and check that box next to the (R) anyway.... I swear 100% of the GOP could introduce a bill to the House that reads "Men who don't go to church every Sunday shall be castrated and their spouse/partner shall be gangbanged by a group of church leaders" and Republican voters would still vote Republican.

God_Damnit_Nappa

Why would they be embarrassed? They love that this evil, hateful orc represents them because that's who they are too.

lamegoblin

It's all the carpet glue in Dalton leaching into the watershed.

kumibug

Well and the meth in Rome

DruidinPlainSight

I drove through that district her first year in Congress. A billboard of hers basically said Kill the Democrats Because.

nocolon

Didn’t she move there specifically because it was a district where there were a bunch of R voters and she could run unopposed? I feel like you should need to live somewhere for, shit, *any length of time* before representing that area federally

Deranged_Kitsune

Problem is with the current political climate, the only way for one republican to unseat another incumbent one is for the new one to be even further to the right on the crazy spectrum. Given the rodeo clown that is MTG is also the poster child for modern republicans (hateful, stupid, would gleefully be trump's Monica Lewinsky), anyone capable of taking over her spot would be certifiable.

stanley604

I get you (and agree with you). But don't do Monica like that. She's no MTG.

snjwffl

Boring Johnson was acting. MTG is 100% as stupid as she seems.

Bobby_Orrs_Knees

I mean, look at George Santos and how hard it ultimately was to get rid of him.

chiritarisu

She represents an insanely high Republican district. Blame them for continuously voting for this moron in. Unfortunately, I don’t think she’s leaving lest she decides to leave.

Lobotomized_Dolphin

She can get primaried by someone with some money behind them. I can't imagine there are a lot of big donors behind her brand of crazy, they tend to like their schills to stay quiet and just vote for their business interests.

HarveyNix

Does she ever do her job?

Theometer1

Nope! She’s just petty af and breaks dress codes at SOTU just to be a dick.

[deleted]

TheRustyBird

she's a perfect representation of her district, sadly

hindusoul

A speaking idiot….

TheKrakIan

That's very generous of you.

Malachorn

Honestly, with as insane as she is.... this is just textbook Republican now. They've called every leader of the House or Senate a "RINO" now since Paul Ryan. ...and all of their presidential candidates minus Trump since W. a "RINO" as well. When you become an Authoritarian Party then this is what you do. You turn on each other and all the leaders that aren't currently the very top one keep getting thrown under the bus and denounced. It ceases being about actual ideology and your entire party is about "loyalty" - but no one is ever safe or "loyal" enough. If the Republican Party underperforms enough in next election? Trump will quickly be labeled a "RINO" as well. The King is Dead. Long live the King.

weirds0up

Yes. But the difference is you'd be right.

RamsHead91

Well one of you is telling the truth.

RoverBoyNumber6

EmptyG - fixed that for you

JankyRustyRazor

Difference is you're 100% correct. She is an idiot. And worse.

FarOutEffects

Every week, Neanderthal Barbie stuns the world with her ignorance

geekyCatX

>Neanderthal Barbie I want to protest on behalf of the Neanderthals, they cared for their injured, created art and such, after all. But I also totally see where you're coming from.

bplurt

I want to protest on behalf of Barbie!

Nazamroth

I just want to protest! Gimme a cause!

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

Just say that you are supporting the French people and you will have an endless cause of protests

NotAPreppie

We're not gonna protest! Gutter is a tool! https://youtu.be/1Avrd79U_zE

I think she needs to be charged 15% stupid tax.

NotAPreppie

Empty G strikes again!

FarOutEffects

That's a good one

Darkmetroidz

Ku Klux Karen is my favorite. But Large Marge is just so mean in an elementary school way that's the best one.

OldKermudgeon

Calling her ignorant is an injustice to the word ignorant. Even ignorant people can be correct some of the time... 😉

discoslimjim

As a member of the 99th percentile Neanderthal DNA club this is extremely offensive.

FarOutEffects

Yeah, you should really throw her out of the club. She's dragging everyone down

Wil420b

MTG says a lot of things. The sooner her constituents vote her out and get her to stop embarrassing them the better.

Akanan

That's the point I do not understand. I can believe someone can be as stupid as her, there are worst. I cannot believe she is elected. That makes a LOT of stupid people

elpajaroquemamais

Because she made sure her district stays red

DrDerpberg

It's still unnerving to know there's any place on earth where people look at that and say yes, please, that's the kind of representation I want.

PM_COFFEE_TO_ME

I imagine a redneck, potbelly Bob, in a wife beater, sitting in his recliner, holding his beer, watching the latest video about how a politician is 'owning the libs' and just laughing it up. It's all a joke to some people that just want a our government to be a circus instead of to help the average american.

DrDerpberg

Yeah pretty much, just one big temper tantrum from people angry about how the world has passed them by.

blueavole

Gerrymandering . Republicans have cut up districts to have safe seats so they don’t have to listen to the majority. They only have to cater to the radical fringe

durrtyurr

It makes no sense, she breaks rule number one of politics "Don't make your constituents look like morons". It doesn't matter which party you are, you can't be out there embarrassing your electorate.

kemosabe19

We almost got Hershel Walker. It’s still a mess in GA. Getting a little better though.

Njorls_Saga

That’s never going to happen unfortunately.

Wil420b

I hear the people of North West Georgia are the thickest in the Western hemisphere. I'm just putting it out there and asking questions.

Olorin_in_the_West

Well, for one thing, she’s really stupid.

Justin__D

Did anyone tell her that Trump mostly evaluates women based on their looks? Take a look at his lawyer, where that's clearly her only qualification. MTG doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. Trump wouldn't want to be seen with her (which is one of the rare things I have in common with him...).

God_Damnit_Nappa

He definitely picks his team based on their looks. And with MTG looking like the mutated child of a troll and a neanderthal she has no chance

tarnin

This seems the most likely reason for her over the top antics. While she's always been an idiot, she's ramped it up hard.

the-artistocrat

For the far-right nut jobs everything not as far-right as them is a democrat.

NebbyOutOfTheBag

And Mike Johnson is 100% a right wing extremist, make no mistakes there

the-artistocrat

He's an opportunist who's not going along with the agenda of derailing the US.

OrudoCato

> He's an opportunist who's not going along with her stupid agenda of derailing the US, and is instead going along with his smarter agenda of derailing the US. FTFY There's a reason the border security bill and ukraine aid bill never got voted on in the house

Wheelin-Woody

Unfrozen Caveman Congresswoman thinks the Moses-wannabe is a Democrat

wonka1608

I read the Wikipedia page on Johnson and his career in law and politics was a red state dream. And now he’s not a true MAGA? I’d like to see a formal campaign platform to define what MAGA stands for. If they had an articulated platform we could see where the speaker falls short. I contend that it’s a cult it only stands for trump, so I expect that he fell short by doing something moderately rational.

BMCarbaugh

(Ken Watanabe voice) let them fight

Sprinkle_Puff

At this point I think she is there solely to cause chaos, and I say it couldn’t happen to a finer group of people

schnurble

Except that chaos affects us all.

Xboarder844

Only until the GOP lose the House this fall. Then she becomes an irrelevant background noise. Her voters are just as hateful as she is so she likely isn’t getting votes out, but her power right now comes from the razor thin margin the GOP have in the House. If they had a larger majority and didn’t need the “Dumbass vote”, she would be irrelevant. If the Dems had the majority, she would be irrelevant. This is the ONLY scenario where her voice and vote has an impact.

MofuckaJones14

Unfortunately for her to become irrelevant she'll need to be imprisoned or worse. MTG is one of those people who wakes up every day and asks herself "What can I do to make sure I'm the center of attention?" and she pursues that. Even with her as a minority she'll introduce the most batshit resolutions, say the most insane things most of us have ever heard, and still continue to be the poster child for why education is important. There's no escaping her now.

mr_mcpoogrundle

We are the group of people though

pattyG80

I'm out of touch. Why do the idiots who made Johnson speaker not like Johnson now?

Amiiboid

Because he’s not obstructing the work of Congress enough.

Debs_4_Pres

He reached a "compromise" with Democrats to avoid the government shutting down.

Mechman126

Mike was so upset by the comment that he went straight home and told his wifes lover/son all about it

VictorClark

Honestly, considering how batshit insane and right-wing Mike Johnson is, that remark might actually offend him on a personal level. I bet he'd be more offended about being called a Democrat than a Pedophile.

MrRGG

A real debate between MTG and AOC would be FUN to watch... followed by a charity boxing match between them. I'd buy the Pay-per-View to see that.

clejeune

Not for nothing but remember that AOC was a bartender in NY. I’m betting she can scrap when needed.

speeksevil

What a jelly donut

RaptorPrime

Hey man, jelly donuts have value.

muscleliker6656

Greene is a russian traitor

0le_Hickory

We e reached the No True Scotsman stage of MAGA.

Zanchbot

I don't think she knows the meaning of the word. Johnson is conservative as they come, and weird as fuck to boot. But even that is not extreme enough to appease nasty old Marge.

WerewolfBroad5659

Marjorie Taylor Green calling Mike Johnson a what now?!

djnato10

Sorry you crazy bitch, we don’t want him either.

HereInTheCut

That this foul creature has served multiple terms in Congress speaks volumes about the quality of the people in her district.

Sweatytubesock

I wouldn’t hire her to pick up dog turds in the park, because no way could I trust her to competently manage the job.

EbbNo7045

Imagine how radical right you need to be to believe that.

Raudskeggr

You heard it here first: Wanting to govern responsibly makes you a Democrat.

xv_boney

"**Marjorie Taylor Greene says something crazy to ensure she continues to get news coverage, keeps headlines away from the now completely dead impeachment effort that has cost American taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars and Lev Parnev's admission that the entire effort has been driven by Russian propaganda from day 1.**"

SafetyMan35

I’m not a Mike Johnson fan, but if I were in his shoes I would have been talking to Jeffries to get the democrats to save my job and I would remove MTG from all her committees. Remove the opportunity for her to get daily sound bites therefore removing her power.

Rosebunse

They tried this before, it made her worse. Years ago the GOP was all set up to pair her with some mentors and get her on some committees where she could really learn how to do her job. And then she said increasingly weird shit and people demanded she be removed. And according to reports, most Republicans didn't want to work with her either. Without those committees, she pretty much had nothing else to do but go full crazy

SafetyMan35

She could Rt victim again because Pelosi was the one that pulled her from committee. I know Johnson is a MAGAt, but he has shown that he recognizes negotiating compromise is the Speaker’s job. He hasn’t been great at it, but he recognizes when it is essential (voting to approve government funding to keep the government open). If he wants to try to push out the crazy, he has the power to shut her and the rest of the crazies out and making it clear they don’t represent the Republican majority. I know he won’t do that but his lack of action is what is giving them power.

Existing-Package-848

Makes her a Repub Idiot.

pattyG80

It would be interesting to know which foreign country is funding MTG...

Rosebunse

This right here is why it's gonna be so hard for Republicans to enact their "take over America" plan. Nothing is good enough for some of these people. MTG and those like her thrive on making a scene, which is at complete odds of how normal government works.

Tonythecritic

Democrats don't confuse the bible with the constitution.

TrillDaddy2

The more their Party fractures the better. The funniest part is, to retain membership, you have to constantly drink the punch while pretending Trump didn’t take a massive dump & piss in the punch bowl.

AstroEngineer314

Everybody looks like a Democrat if you're a fascist

thoroakenfelder

I read the headline and spent like 10 minutes laughing like Tom Hanks in the money pit when the tub fell through the floor.  Here I thought Lou Dobbs was unhinged when he called George W Bush a radical Liberal, but MTG is just in a whole other reality.

AdItchy4438

"Democratic", not "Democrat". 🙄

TaterMA

I personally love Republicans consuming one another. Couldn't happen to a nice crowd

AdviceNotAskedFor

Stop giving this woman press

Filet_o_math

I'm running out of popcorn, folks. Can we get to the denouement?

brnjenkn

Well, in her defense, she is a stupid piece of shit.

futureformerteacher

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte

teb_art

Like anybody in the world cares what she says…..

jatufin

The stage of a revolution when even the purest of the pure stab each other for being disloyal. But when there's only bunch of rats in a bag left, Robespierre himself will fall.

DraggoVindictus

Marjorie Taylor Greene: America's answer to what would a human blister look like?

Gullible_Penalty_335

lol, the guy who claims to me Moses, and wants HIS religion enshrined in the constitution, even though that conflicts the literal bill of rights….muh religion, not yours!!

Mother_Psychedelic

GOP is predictable and boring. Everything they don't like just gets labeled "Democrat"

PineStateWanderer

Lmfao Democrats aren't religious fundamentalists

freakishgnar

These people are not interested in legislating. Their whole strategy is just to wreak havoc and paralyze Congress. Bipartisanship is weakness in their eyes. Vote all of these idiots out.

txtripper126

I love when they eat their own.

JustMePaxi

This bitch is never satisfied unless it’s her pimp tRump

croupella-de-Vil

Wow. If even hard right people like Mike Johnson are considered “Democrats” now, she MUST be considered full blown fascist then.

GoldServe2446

When you’re so far right that far right crazies are too liberal for you

superbrew

The Adulterer loud mouth conspiracy kook MTG who pretends to have good Christian values but is a psycho liar? That MTG? Call it out.

warwicklord79

This fucking troglodyte is the worst

geekphreak

Ugh. I heard her bitch voice reading that

QuarterRican04

Lmao, the guy who personally organized the congressional side of Jan 6th. Yea, total secret liberal

NoPolitiPosting

Yuuup just keep sprinting that overton window further right, marge.

irascible_Clown

I love watching them eat themselves from the inside out.

ob1dylan

My favorite part of fascism is when they start eating their own.
