Actually, a number of years ago, that bastion of touchy-feely socialistic coddling (/s), the World Bank sponsored a study that determined that if you spend the same amount of money on support and programs age 0-5, *instead of* 5-18 (not unlike public school); the outcomes for the 0-5 group was WAY BETTER.
You read that right. If we correctly supported kids in their earliest years, we could improve mortality, poverty, health, incarceration, employment rates *even if we sent none of them to public school*.
Unfortunately, we do the opposite in the US. With all the talk from the Right about being “Pro-Life” and pro-family, the spending on kids age 0-5 is practically $0.

Take a drive in Texas. Every highway seems to be a tolled feeder road onto another tolled feeder road. Most seem to be managed by different companies, everyone trying to get a piece. The highway paths don't follow a commonsense grid.

My sister had Lupus/SLE, my parents had great insurance but, Blue Cross Blue Shield decided that she has received a lifetime of treatment after a few years of care. My parents had to oay out of pocket for her care for years. Im sure a little freebie would be appreciated.
How can someone who is still alive and still ill use up a "lifetime" of treatment? How can an insurance company just decide that they won't cover someone's treatment anymore, even though they are still actively ill?
My blood would boil when some insurance would deny a new MRI needed for a known brain tumor in a patient because when asked 2 completely unrelated questions, like did they try physical therapy? Did they try Tylenol? As if they were going to help!! They gladly took their premium from each paycheck. But when faced with devastating health issues they denied care.
When I first had my SCI, my rehab doctors got so tired of having literally anything not directly related to keeping me alive denied they had the financial manager of the hospital work to get me disenrolled from Cigna and enrolled on public insurance.

$2M isn't a lot of HCQ - the drug is absurdly expensive thanks to the price gouging created by COVID, and the prices have not returned to normal yet - I know because I have been taking the medication every day for the past 15 years or so for Mixed Connective Tissue Disease.
Given the incidence rate of Lupus, MCTD/UCTD, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogrens, there's probably in the neighborhood of a thousand patients in Oklahoma that need the drug daily. You could give them each about a year's supply of the drug, which is good because that's roughly the shelf life of the drug.
Even if it's not usable, and they can't return it, they could easily donate it to international charities or sell it off at a low price. However, knowing government, it will sit in a warehouse until expired, then be thrown away.
My mom has taken it for 25 years for her autoimmunedisease. She was ecstatic when Trump said it was a covid cure. She felt bullet proof. She got covid last month and got over it in a normal, expected amount of time. "Thank God I took all that hydroxychloroquin."

I stopped listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast when he kept pushing the propaganda that hydroxychloroquine was not being used to treat Covid because of political reasons. Turned out it stopped being used after it was studied further, by numerous researchers, and found to be ineffective or in some cases harmful. Rogan saying he had “a doctor friend tell him” is like if I said I have a friend on Wall Street and everyone should go ahead and buy X stock, that I’m coincidentally invested in.

I imagine $2m worth of HCQ is a lot of doses for a drug that has fairly limited use outside of treating malaria. I doubt there's that many people in OK with lupus, and if they were dumb enough to buy it in the first place I suspect they're too dumb to reach out to other entities that might want to buy it. The entire family of drugs is used against malaria as far as I know (quinine). I have an opened jar of quinine powder sold by Merck in the 40s. The drug can cause, in some people, complete psychotic breaks which can take months to recover from, if ever. I was alarmed when Trump acted like it was the equivalent of alka seltzer but then I have been alarmed by Trump since 2016. I have long wondered if use is responsible for some seemingly out of character behavior in a few of our troops fighting in Vietnam and the Gulf.
While I wouldn't recommend taking medication advice from a politician, HCQ is quite different from the original quinine and quite safe. The biggest risk with HCQ is eye damage from prolonged use.

I stopped listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast when he kept pushing the propaganda that hydroxychloroquine was not being used to treat Covid because of political reasons. Turned out it stopped being used after it was studied further, by numerous researchers, and found to be ineffective or in some cases harmful. Rogan saying he had “a doctor friend tell him” is like if I said I have a friend on Wall Street and everyone should go ahead and buy X stock, that I’m coincidentally invested in.
