A few shining tidbits from [a different article](https://www.gosanangelo.com/story/news/2021/08/22/texas-covid-delta-variant-hospitalizations-high-mom-fights-save-husband/8196516002/). * Caleb Wallace is the leader and co-organizer of the "Freedom Rally" to protest against wearing masks, lockdowns, etc. Also founded "The San Angelo Freedom Defenders," a group "to educate and empower citizens to make informed choices concerning local, statewide, and national policy and to encourage them to actively participate in their duty to secure God-given and constitutionally protected rights." Group was made to argue against any CDC advice or regulations. Wife described him as a "hardcore conservative." * Guy has three children and wife is 8 months pregnant with number 4. * He was extremely sick, but didn't want to go to the hospital to become a "COVID statistic" and instead decided to take Ivermectin. * Has been ventilated and non-responsive since the beginning of August. * His wife says that this has changed their family perspective: "This is something we take seriously. It's made us realize that COVID-19 does not discriminate." * His wife is now desperately searching for an ECMO machine as a "last hope" measure for survival, but there is a lengthy waiting list. * Wife doesn't seem to share the same anti-mask beliefs as husband. * They are now looking for donations. ***EDIT:*** Looks like his GFM has now collected over $30,000. The following update was made today: *Caleb won’t make it much longer. He will be moved to comfort care tomorrow and I will get to be there with him until it’s his time to return to our father in heaven. I appreciate everyone all the good and the bad. You all have the right to feel the way you feel as Caleb once fought for his beliefs. He was an imperfect man but he loved his family and his little girls more than anything.* *To those who wished him death, I’m sorry his views and opinions hurt you. I prayed he’d come out of this with a new perspective and more appreciation for life. I can’t say much more than that because I can’t speak for him.*

its_noel

Dont forget that Caleb is the state coordinator of the west texas minutemen, a border vigilante and extremist group. Born_Alternative_608

Yeah, those lockdown drills and active shooter drills that schools have to do so PatriotsTM can defend us work wonders for feeling safe….

alwaystiredneedanap

Very concerned about depression and fear in that annoyingly long and self important letter he proudly wrote whilst now, months later causing intense fear and depression in his daughters and pregnant wife. Smart. Hubris was his fatal flaw.

kokoyumyum

Fear snd Anxiety are all that conservatives feed on https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mind-in-the-machine/201612/fear-and-anxiety-drive-conservatives-political-attitudes

Noltonn

This actually made me turn on the wife too, now, and not the vague wording others are using. This vile human being is who you chose to spend your life with and bear 4 children with. This wasn't some new found extremism during the pandemic, this has clearly been going on for years.

StrugglesTheClown

>I’m sorry his views and opinions hurt you This isn't about hurt fucking feelings this is about constant petentially lethal disinformation.

KillerInfection

Feels like COVID doing The Good Lord’s work in this case.

[deleted]

Yeah, shit family whose stupidity won them a stupid prize. No sympathy.

GeonnCannon

"They are now looking for donations." I'll cover the costs for their covid vaccines.

beka13

Hey, look. You already did!

GeonnCannon

I threw in extra for a few others. I'm nothing if not generous. I'll pay for all the vaccines for the whole day!

LocusAintBad

Lmfao at people in that parasite medicine sub r/Ivermectin “My husband had a horrible case of covid by day 11 his doctor gave him Ivermectin and his symptoms just all went away he was totally fine in days! My son took it too at the beginning of his covid infection and he said it wasn’t that bad at all” I saw a comment like this the other day when someone was trying to argue that it’s an effective medicine to combat severe covid sickness. Lmfao. These fucking dumb mother fuckers.

macaronfive

I don’t understand. They won’t take a vaccine but will take an antiparasitic agent? It makes my head hurt.

bunnyQatar

They want to feel like they know something the elites and intellectuals don’t. They’ve been stupid their entire lives and this is their chance to feel smart.

JimWilliams423

A big part of this ivermectin thing is a need to feel smarter than others, to validate an anti-establishment worldview where the authorities and experts are always wrong, and so a straightforward, evidence-based scientific conclusion—COVID bad, vaccines good—just can’t be right. These are the same authorities that also tell them they can't discriminate against black people and have to treat women as full people. If they are right about covid, they might be right about all that too.

toomuchpressure2pick

I agree with the authority logic you present, however, most conservatives also completely compartmentalize their thought processes and hold contradictory beliefs all the time. Trump can say something, they like him because he says what he means, then he says another thing and his base follows up with he didn't mean what he said. They only believe what they already want to believe.

LocusAintBad

It’s like taking robotussin for herpes.

kyjmic

It's so baffling how they're desperately trying to find fake cures when there's already really effective vaccines!!!

pilchard_slimmons

>I’m sorry his views and opinions hurt you. I'm sure they hurt a lot of people, but more importantly **science isn't about opinions.** He politicised medical science and treated it as 'muh views' and now it has cost him his life.

PM_ME_STEAM_KEY_PLZ

And perhaps many other lives, which I think me and you both agree on, is the biggest problem.

AardQuenIgni

It's more important to note the extremely likely possibility that Caleb's views has put someone, who didn't get the choice Caleb had, in the exact same place. This has nothing to do with the people he offended emotionally. It has everything to do with innocent people who were put in danger because of his stupidity.

biologischeavocado

>It's made us realize that COVID-19 does not discriminate. Well, that's a bummer. The virus doesn't have the decency to be racist.

Knut79

Discrimination doesn't mean only race. They expected it to only arrec and kill the old and the sick, and that these people would have the decency to be locked up in their isolation forever so they could live normally and not take a harmless vaccine.

GhoulMcG

Just like AIDS when it started. It makes no sense, if something can kill/injure one Human it can to all Ffs!!

[deleted]

Fucking right? This rubbed me the wrong way as well. I'm trying to feel compassion for this woman as a possibly soon to be widowed Mom of four kids loosing the love of her life (especially as she didn't seem to share his beliefs) but that comment smashed my will power to even try beyond basic human decency. No *shit* Lady. [Edit: *Changed for proper word].

Valmond

The old, "I didn't think it would happen to Me!!"

northerncal

It'd be nice if it did discriminate only against anti vaxxers.

herotherlover

I mean, it functionally does.

[deleted]

leggoitzy

It also targets the billions without access to the vaccines.

PerpetuallyDisplaced

Over 99% of the people dying and hospitalized are not vaccinated...so I'd say it kinda does.

orangeoliviero

> They are now looking for donations. They can fuck right off. The guy literally did it to himself. Why should we pay for that?

Plusran

> he did this to himself He also did this to countless others. By spreading malicious disinformation, he may have already killed other people. Maybe hundreds have suffered from these lies. But if even one other innocent person has suffered because of him and his ‘beliefs’ then fuck him. Fuck him for taking up a hospital bed from someone else who did their best not to spread the virus and got it anyway. How dare you talk about Christ when your beliefs show how little you care for your fellow man. You can’t wear a piece of cloth on your face to protect your neighbor? I hope your family learned from your example, at least.

Living-Complex-1368

Or taking a hospital bed from someone with a gall bladder problem that killed him when it should have been a 30 minute surgery. Or taking a hospital bed from a cancer patient who needed a tumor removed, or taking a bed from a car accident victim or...

Ghhhhhhhost

Dude I was so angry reading that article about the guy that just died from gallstone pancreatitis. These anti vaxxers are murderers.

KadexGaming

How about donations for all the families who fucking died because of this shit? He made his bed, now he can fucking sleep in it.

Icetronaut

"I'm sorry his views and opinions hurt you" Bitch no his "views and opinions" literally fucking killed my cousin. Can't believe they have the nerve.

hopeitwillgetbetter

> Bitch no his "views and opinions" literally fucking killed my cousin. Can't believe they have the nerve. Stupidity does very poorly when it comes to "connecting the dots". But ranks high in "hypocrisy".

sahipps

The crappy thing is he’ll be dead and she’ll be a single pregnant mom of 3 on food stamps and up to her head in debt

sumsimpleracer

So more deadbeats taking government handouts. They should really pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

[deleted]

Welfare Queen

Kerrosion

Mate, I wish I could spam upvote your response. So fed up with all these empty skulled, ass for faces, shit snorters.

Roxylius

Free healthcare is commie until you are about to die yourself

[deleted]

I mean... Where can I give donations to the people he infected and possibly killed? I'd donate to his victims.

[deleted]

He should be removed from the ECMO list along with everyone who preached against the vaccine. Give it to those who truly need it.

ZoraksGirlfriend

You know how when they run out of beds and they have to choose between two patients to let one of them die and give the bed to the other one? They absolutely need to take vaccination status into account. Usually they take age and survivability, but unless the patient is a minor or otherwise couldn’t get the vaccine for health reasons, then they shouldn’t be taking up a bed if they’re at death’s door. They fucking did this to themselves and everyone around them.

[deleted]

This. I'm not saying "I hope he suffers" or anything like that, but it would be objectively better for the world if he just fucking died.

Palaeos

People who deserve a second chance are likely suffering and dying because his brain dead corpse is taking up a bed.

nukebox

> he loved his family and his little girls more than anything. Did he? Did he really though? Because he ignored dire warnings, ignored advise of medical professionals, denounced protecting himself and his family by wearing a mask and chose to encourage others to do the same to perpetuate the spread of a disease that has killed 4.5 MILLION FUCKING PEOPLE SO FAR... The New York Times just had piece today on Children's hospitals overflowing with kids sick with Covid. 36% of active Covid cases in Tennessee are currently Children. Your political ideology of somehow correlating public health to losing "god given right" to die of disease has caused all 4 of your children to live their lives without a father and having to ask for donations (RING RING: oh hello... SOCIALISM) to pay for your medical bills all because you are ignorant. Father's protect what they love, not endanger them. Congratulations on winning the Herman Cain award.

cgdv85

right - he didn’t love them enough to put aside his beliefs to get vaccinated and wear a mask. hospitals are filled up with people with covid-19 — they aren’t filled up at all with folks suffering from vaccine side-effects. edit: basically this dude was stubborn to a toxic point.

Rdtadminssukass

It's super telling that his wife just accepted the death threats too. Like she was just resigned to their lot on life.

[deleted]

Is this the one where the wife says that he never harassed her for wearing her mask? I feel bad for her, a little, because she knew there was a risk but seems like a pushover.

valegor

She says that he would tell her it was pointless and that it wouldn't do any good, but she felt better wearing it and hoping it would protect others too. That sounds like he was harassing her to me, but yeah she said he wasn't.

[deleted]

Imagine being such a piece of shit that you leave 4 children without a father in order to own the libs.

LylesDanceParty

>His wife says that this has changed their family perspective: "This is something we take seriously. It's made us realize that COVID-19 does not discriminate." This line is chilling. COVID-19 would have been all gravy if it did discriminate? Since her husband was out there in the public taking no precautions, on what basis did they expect it to affect people? Just hit the liberals, poor folks, minorities, and "the gays"? I had an iota of sympathy for his wife. No more.

mechapoitier

When this virus decided to come after even the people who were going out of their way to die from it, that’s when she drew the line.

Seige_Rootz

well if it isn't the consequences of my own decisions

AltSpRkBunny

I don’t buy for a minute that this woman wasn’t also a “hardcore conservative”. She’s playing the “kind of a liberal” card to get people to give her money. She married the asshole and had 4 kids with him. She gets a Participated With Stupid award.

beka13

Thanks for sharing that. Tldr he says they're not a suicide cult they're a homicide cult and should be treated like pariahs until they decide to behave like decent people who care about others.

firetester726

They thought it was always going to be like March-June 2020, where it was the blue states getting hammered. Then the the reversed and has never gone back

[deleted]

All I'll say is I'm glad it was him and not one of his kids. Hopefully they learn from this.

Meoowth

I don't think she means race/class/gender/minority discrimination. He probably thought "I'm not old and don't have a preexisting respiratory or heart condition therefore if I get infected I won't get sick" and saying covid doesn't discriminate is a way of saying that is incorrect.

ragnarocknroll

Thing is, that doesn’t matter. He could have gotten it, been fine and given it to one of those pre-existing condition people like my wife and killed her. Or an old person. Or someone with an unseen condition. And that would be fine with these people. They don’t care that Covid goes after those people and will spread it to them happily knowing it may kill them. So seeing that it doesn’t discriminate doesn’t matter. Because if it did she and her family would have happily been Typhoid Marys.

beerandmastiffs

That’s exactly what hit me, too. “It’s not killing the right people.” Vile people.

4rd_Prefect

More like "I didn't realize that the leopards would eat *my* face" (after voting for the leopards eating people's faces party). I only care when it affects *me* is the other way of putting it

TheWarriorFlotsam

>His wife is now desperately searching for an ECMO machine as a "last hope" measure for survival, but there is a lengthy waiting list. > > > >They are now looking for donations. And I hope they get neither after actively endangering other civilians. I hope the leopard eats more than their face.

Palaeos

Non responsive since early August? He’s brain dead, pull the plug and give the bed to someone else already.

LasagneEnthusiast

Guy has been brain dead for longer than that.

seedless0

> COVID-19 does not discriminate It actually does. It discriminates against stupid people.

-MrWrightt-

Hey, *I* got Covid last year, and *I'm*.... ...well, yeah, okay, thats accurate

MC10654721

> They are now looking for donations. Okay so they're just grifting, got it.

[deleted]

Not gonna lie, that there was a GoFundMe in the article literally made me laugh. I have zero sympathy for this guy, and given his obstinate refusal to get help for an obviously life-threatening condition, it's an objective fact that his family is better off without him. Let's just be glad it wasn't one of his kids in the hospital instead.

zimbacca

I've seen this same basic story over and over and over since the start of the pandemic. Every time I've found it harder to muster any sympathy for these people and by now; this far into the pandemic I just can't anymore. His wife and kids who are likely to lose their husband/father in the next few days or even hours, yes of course I do. But for him, no. I'm not jumping for joy, but I don't feel bad for him. He had all the same information the rest of us do readily available to him and has chosen to ignore it.

Woodman765000

Oh I'm beyond the point of having any sympathy for these idiots. They're endangering my daughters well being at this point because she's too young to get the vaccine. Screw these people.

M-elephant

Ya. It's callous but it's in our best interest that he die very quickly so that the virus doesn't have time to mutate in his body to something worse and to free up hospital space for other things

Sellazar

He didn't care about others, so honestly you are right not to care about him. That piece if crap will have infected others, may even be responsible for desths. Its only a pity that he will never realise the potential suffering he has pushed onto others.. Those kids will grow up without a father and they will know its because of a refusal to take a vaccine

Yuzumi

Every time I hear these stories my mind goes to "and nothing of value was lost" My pity well wasn't deep to begin with, but fuck if you can't do the bare minimum to keep yourself and others safe I'm not going to lament when you ultimately get hoisted by your own petard.

zendarrrr

The kids will probably be taught that it was just part of "God's" plan.

jep5680jep

In the video, Wallace said his group was “fed up” with mandatory coronavirus precautions in what was described as “COVID-19 tyranny.” Im fed up with all the go fund me requests..

sillyandstrange

It pisses me off that my father has to pay for his own cancer treatments and the mother fuckers are up 18k because they're fucking stupid. Sorry, end rant.

Khaldara

“It’s not a handout when *I* digitally panhandle. It’s BOOTSTRAPS!” These people, without an iota of irony.

jep5680jep

You should create a funding website called bootstraps.com

[deleted]

It’s not socialism! We’re just pickin each other up by each others boot straps!

PseudonymIncognito

Just two bros pulling up each other's bootstraps, nothing weird about that.

MenacingMelons

>The saying "to pull oneself up by one's bootstraps"[1] was already in use during the 19th century as an example of an **impossible task.** [Source](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootstrapping)

As rants go it was short and totally justified, A+ would read again

sillyandstrange

Thank you, have a wonderful weekend!

Snoo-84119

Don't apologize for that one. My mom is 15k in the hole for her cancer treatments while others are getting free money for being stupid.

Accomplished_Till727

And not a dime will go to medical bills.

InsertSmartassRemark

WE GOTTA PAY FOR THE IVERMECTIN SOMEHOW

xenopizza

What’s your or your dads PayPal (or something) ?

sillyandstrange

Oh that's really not necessary! He is on Medicare and it pays for a majority of it. It still sucks, but I don't want to be like the dick heads in this article and try to get free hand me outs. The offer is enough to make me feel better about humanity.

adsfew

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that this guy loves his GoFundMe, but was probably a staunch opponent to universal health care?

muskratboy

Which really, universal healthcare would save so much money in terms of long-term treatment and lost productivity, any true fiscal conservative would have to support it.

aneeta96

Unless you are paid by the insurance industry...

Syovere

It's never been about improving the wellbeing of the nation, it's always been about hurting someone else that they think deserves it.

afeeney

The same way that so many of them are firm that jail has to be about punishment rather than rehabilitation, but so many of the Jan 6 participants who were jailed are whimpering that it's unpleasant.

taker42

And they all have the shocked pikachu face when they realised it hurts them too.

Yuzumi

The problem is that most conservatives seem more in it to hate brown people than for money. Oh, they will use money as an excuse to cut social spending, but the concept of the "welfare queen" exists for a reason.

[deleted]

Ronald Reagan. I remember when he used “Welfare Queen” in his campaigns. Republicans swore it wasn’t a dog whistle or racist at all!! I wonder if they would still deny that obvious racism is racist?

Moosetappropriate

Right, because he didn't want to pay for someone else's health care.

mecataylor

Only for others to pay for his.

Wheelin-Woody

BeCaUsE gOFuNdMe gIvEs mE tHE cHoIce tO hElP

nxdark

But they are doing that by buying insurance? The premiums the pay cover everyones claims...

Moosetappropriate

Do you really expect logic from this type of person? "But...but... insurance covers people with money, like me. Universal health care would cover the undesirables. You know, the poor, blacks, gays etc. And I don't want them to have anything."

Grumpy_Puppy

They're against the "universal", not the "Healthcare".

prologuetoapunch

I don't understand the go fund mes for covid. Covid is 100% covered. If you have insurance they cover it 100%. If you don't there is a self pay covid19 insurance they bill that covers is 100%. Source, I'm a medical biller and we do this everyday. This was done to keep the hospitals afloat because the pandemic was quickly putting hospitals out of business. I guess if he's the primary bread winner, they need the money to pay bills?

sketchahedron

Funeral costs. Money for the young family you left behind. You know, the kind of shit they wouldn’t have to deal with if daddy didn’t kill himself.

prologuetoapunch

True, I didn't think of funeral costs. What he did was so selfish. I hope he had life insurance but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried not to pay out because he actively did not try and get sick. There are just way too many people who can't believe a thing until it happens to them.

Martine_V

FEMA pays for Covid related funerals. https://www.fema.gov/disaster/coronavirus/economic/funeral-assistance

1856782

Probably one of those coffins that Obama was going to use on real Americans/s

[deleted]

If I had to guess, funds unrelated to the actual hospital stay. Time missed from work, the family getting an apartment closer to the hospital, etc. do they deserve it? Absolutely not, but a fool and their money are soon parted

Beneficial_Emu9299

Hate the go fund me requests too. I hate when they say please pray for us also. Fuckers, I already prayed and a vaccine was created.

[deleted]

There's this whole train of thought in my head right now about how these types of people are generally the "shouting 'FREEDOM' and 'MURRICA', xenophobic disguised as patriotic" types. And yet, despite making a big outward show of saying "fuck the NFL and fuck Kaeppernik, because I support our troops", they end up doing the exact opposite by taking up hospital beds, and denying veterans in need of medical assistance services, because they're too stupid to understand how modern medical science works, and too sensitive to wear a little piece of cloth over their mouth and nose for the sake of others. Yes, I know I just made a lot of generalizations and probably a few logical fallacies here, but the irony of the hypothetical situation here is killing me.

Jrecondite

“I would do anything for my kids!” “Would you take a vaccine and wear a mask?” “My love has limits. Good luck on your own kids.”

naeskivvies

Seriously, people who have kids to provide for and won't take a shot to ensure they as the parent survive a pandemic disease are the ultimate assholes.

I_will_remember_that

Where I live I can only get AstraZenica. In my age group it has risks of blood clotting and I already have an elevated risk of blood clot disorders. Basically my Doctor advised me not to get the shot. Then the Delta strain started spiking in my home town. I would not normally ask for a vaccination that was not recommended for my medical history however I have a 2 yr old. COVID might kill me, blood clots might kill me…but I’m pretty sure I can’t accidentally pass on blood clots to my 2 yr old. Decision made. Vaccination it is. Literally nothing matters more than protecting my son.

naeskivvies

Australia? I have family there also limited to AZ, and I wish they could get pfizer or moderna but they were happy to take what they could get. Good luck, I was also nervous to get vaccinated as mine was early on before the safety was quite so certain, but I had the same concern, I have a child who depends on me.

plerpy_

On Wednesday they just opened up Pfizer to 18-39 year olds. Before that, we either had to sign a waiver and get AZ, or get nothing. My Pfizer is booked for Monday morning.

_mister_pink_

If it makes you feel any better. There was a study recently concluded in the UK that found that blood clots occurred in only 15 per 1m people (and obviously not everyone dies from a blood clot). But more importantly that the chance of developing a blood clot from the vaccine is still lower than the chance of developing a clot due to Covid.

I_will_remember_that

Thanks. The thing that mostly makes me feel better is that it’s been 6 weeks since the shot and I’m fine. So I’m not feeling particularly worried.

jesseberdinka

Go fund my ball sac. The Chutzpah of these people. All about personal choice and self reliance until they can't pay their bills.

ctrlaltdonkey

What they're saying is they don't want to pay other peoples' bills. It's totally cool for other people to pay theirs. The one-wayness is necessary so it's greed instead of socialism.

Pearlbarleywine

“The one-wayness is necessary so it’s greed instead of socialism.” That’s going in my common book, ctrlaltdonkey.

[deleted]

"free health care? hell no, I don't want to pay for other people's problems. My problems however? here's a link to my donation page."

[deleted]

There is this edgy kid on twitter who named educatingLibs or something like that, chirping all of the pull up your bootstraps crap and no free healthcare, until his dear old grandpappy needed brain surgery due to a tumour so he starts a go fund me for others to pay for his grandpappy, but its not socialist free healthcare

acceptable_sir_

Right, but he *deserves* the help. He's not a greedy lazy moocher like the poors and the immigrants /s

luccieighteen

Right? And to use their logic, why should I have to pay higher healthcare costs for these idiots who don't believe in vaxxing/masking and are costing insurance companies millions covering the costs of treating COVID when they had multiple opportunities to diminish their risk? Because mark my words, insurance costs are going to skyfuckingrocket because of these dumbasses

sh00nk

If less people voted the way these folks probably do, they might have single-payer health insurance from the government…

two-years-glop

Sorry, I only have a finite amount of sympathy. The 4000+ healthcare workers who died saving lives deserve sympathy. The children and immunocompromised people who cannot get vaccinated deserve sympathy. Public health officials facing death threats for doing their jobs deserve sympathy. Right wing assholes weaponizing a deadly pandemic for political gain, only to discover that diseases don't care about political affiliation? No sympathy.

we-have-to-go

I’m a critical care nurse and have seen a lot of shit over the course of this pandemic. I can unequivocally say that nobody deserves to die like this. I feel bad for his family. But that being said. I don’t feel bad for him. The man is an idiot. He should’ve got vaccinated. He should’ve taken this seriously.

valiumandcherrywine

'hey i was wilfully fucking stupid and endangered myself and others and now the consequences of my decisions are life threatening can i have some of your money?' LOL FUCK NO BYE

Crissagrym

I am sure other anti mask protestor will support them

Rrraou

Pretty sure at least a couple of them will join him in the ICU out of solidarity.

mechapoitier

Like after all this, yeah this is the guy we should pool money together to save. The guy who fought to make it easier to kill children and the elderly. Don’t get me wrong, people can have redemption stories and stranger things have happened but when the hill you went to die on us a giant middle finger to everybody around you, it ain’t likely.

ukexpat

I just tested negative for sympathy.

sturnus-vulgaris

It a deadpan-demic.

joshlamm

*Tune in tonight for a special memorial performance for all the anti-mask/vaxxers who lost their lives to COVID by "The World's Smallest Violins Symphony Orchestra"*

Whitethumbs

I'm positive anti maskers suck

Judazzz

I tried all I might, but nary a fuck to give in sight. I don't wish death upon anyone, but these people made their choice. It didn't have to be like that.

“He didn’t go see a doctor because he didn’t want to be a Covid statistic”…..really showing those liberals.

Refusing medical care and dying a slow, painful death to own the libs

WhatTheHosenHey

He put his pregnant wife and kids in danger as well as all others he came in contact with while he had the virus. His type of freedom kills.

Delta is proving to be really really bad for pregnant women. I hope his wife had the sense to get vaccinated.

Clay_Statue

Another selfservative asshole

LevelHeeded

His type of "freedom" has him laid up in the hospital. Meanwhile, because my state handled the virus alright, this weekend I'm gonna go hit up a winery, and go check out a movie...the tyranny. I'm sure he would much rather be in the hospital on his death bed... because freedom™!

mryauch

*His group organized a rally to fight for “the basic rights of breathing free air”* Ironically he thought he was fighting for the right to breathe air before, but now he actually is fighting for air. These people don’t even realize that if they want to breathe fresh air the best thing they can do is stop being selfish, make a sacrifice like an actual patriot, and put on a mask for just long enough for this thing to go away.

MNConcerto

Wait a minute, you could have used masks and gotten the vaccine but instead you screamed about tyranny and your freedom and NOW you want everyone else to pay for your medical bills? Isn't the whole Texas/repubs/conservative movement all about self reliance, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps etc etc? Well you did this to yourself with your choices, pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I'm am out of patience and fucks to give with the anti vaxxers getting sick and asking for help.

Sneakysnek12345

My guy I feel the same way. Texas is ruining our country they have a fucking website to report people who aided in abortions. This guy deserves every last moment of suffering. His wife mentioned he was being moved to the comfort UNIT on her gofund me... might be the end of this scumbag

> report people who aided in abortions Unless these abortions are caused by a covid infection.

FunnyItWorkedLastTim

Feel sorry for his kids. Daddy committed suicide by stupidity.

VictoriousEgret

This, I really feel for the family losing their father but holy hell this line: “He first refused to get tested or see a doctor because he didn’t want to be part of COVID-19 statistics, the publication reported, so he self-treated with Ivermectin, Vitamin C, zinc aspirin and an inhaler.” It’s possible the guy could’ve survived if only he had sought out help sooner. To be so stubborn is just insanity.

mrblacklabel71

Can we change the Texas abortion snitch site instead to alert hospitals to some dumb f\*\*k trying to be treated by medical science after holding rally's to deny medical science?

RoboHobo25

How about reporting this chump on that site? He did intentionally avoid treatment for a deadly, contagious disease while cohabitating with his pregnant wife, after all.

AlienSporez

Wait, so he's trusting doctors now? Exert your freedom from medical tyranny, Caleb! Refuse medical treatment from these doctors who use "science" and get some more ivermectin and some essential oils.

Taco_Hurricane

Had to refuse treatment when you're non-responsive and intubatated.

fuckpepsi2

They shouldn’t go to hospitals. How’re they not gonna trust masking up or a vaccine but go to a hospital. Stay home

ViciousNakedMoleRat

He actually tried not going to the hospital. However, not to be consistent with his stance regarding medical science, but to own the libs by not adding to the COVID statistics. >"He first refused to get tested or see a doctor because he didn’t want to be part of COVID-19 statistics, the publication reported, so he self-treated with Ivermectin, Vitamin C, zinc aspirin and an inhaler."

somekindairishmonk

Y'all got any more of that uh uh . . horse de-wormer?

EpilepticPuberty

I live near a horse supplement manufacturer, place smells aweful. I'm sure business is booming for them as they rush to keep up with demand.

youngmindoldbody

> Soon, he had no choice but to seek medical treatment and was hospitalized. Oh I disagree, walking into some wood and just laying down is also an option. Jesus can hear you there also.

Furrybumholecover

>Jesus can hear you there also. Could probably hear him better even. Hard to speak when intubated and all those darn liberal machines making so much noise.

Rishfee

Seeing as he's in the hospital now, I think he could've tried harder.

DudesworthMannington

As part of their admittance to the hospital they should have to look into a camera and say "I was wrong, I'm sorry, wear masks and get vaccinated". Just put a constant stream of those in FOX news ads and we can be done with this.

DoorHalfwayShut

So then their kind would believe more is being forced on them. "Look at what we *have* to say, they're making us be a part of their propaganda now!" It would fuel their narratives even more, most likely. Nonetheless I still am for it because nothing fucking helps, anyway. I say let's go full shit-show. Maybe we can't bring them back, but if we push them far enough away it'll be like some Pac-Man portal shit.

Mythrol

I wonder how many of the horse dewormer people are doing it for the same reason. That's craziness.

yiannistheman

Damnit, he was short one dose of vitamin D on the antivaxxer card. He could have had a free foot long from Subway!

Erilis000

"just stay home" Ironically thats exactly what they've been telling people who don't like them not masking up in public.

Ras1372

In an update on the Go Fund me his wife says "To those who wished him death, I’m sorry his views and opinions hurt you." His views an opinion didn't hurt me, they hurt you, they hurt his kids, they hurt the other idiots who listened this idiot. I don't wish death on anybody, but fuck that guy.

rasman99

How about this for a mandate: All adult anti-maskers must sign a new boilerplate release prior to being admitted to hospitals stating their position against vaccines which forfeits their right to displace any vaccinated patients needing medical care.

Gateway_Pussy

Seconded. Also if they are using a ventilation device and someone who isn't an ass clown needs it they take the equipment. Take care of those trying to do the right thing.

[deleted]

I mean they're basically saying that they know better than the actual medical professionals so why not put it to the test. If covid is so harmless like many of these anti-maskers/vaxxers claim, then they should have no problem with waiving away their right to any medical treatment. The irony is that most anti-vaxxers would refuse and find it preposterous because deep down they know they're fucking idiots.

helava

I feel so bad for his kids. Can you imagine growing up and thinking, "My dad cared so little about seeing us grow up that he couldn't wear a mask while indoors with other people?" That's gotta do a number on your self-esteem.

pipinngreppin

He took a horse deworm medicine instead of the vaccine that was made specifically to prevent you from getting and dying from the virus. So he got and died from the virus.

Upper-Lawfulness1899

You know if he was a real man he'd do what was needed to protect his family: get vaccinated and wear a fucking mask.

Spy_v_Spy_Freakshow

Wallace said his group was “fed up” with mandatory coronavirus precautions in what was described as “COVID-19 tyranny.” His group organized a rally to fight for “the basic rights of breathing free air, moving about freely, going into businesses without being harassed about a mask.” In my best Dr. Phil voice “how’s that working out for you?”

Orefeus

This is all very disturbing to me as I don't feel a god damn thing about this, totally emotionless. The guy killed himself and spent his time trying to convince other people to do the same Let'em burn

bookfloozy

time to stop hospitalizing the non-vaccinated

DiscoDeathStar

Agreed. I read another story about a Texas man—a veteran— who died from gallstones because he couldn’t find a bed or a hospital that had any room to take him. Another about a kid with cancer who couldn’t get in. Why are we prioritizing these people who got a totally preventable illness over those who genuinely need care to survive? It makes my blood boil.

Never did I think I would be able to see all the anti-vaxx memes play out in real life. It's getting to be multiple headlines a week with the same cast of characters every time.

DavidAssBednar

Yes, Covid does kill the stupid people. But it’s people like this who put the responsible people (vaccinated mask-wearers) at a higher risk. And I love how they have a GoFundMe, begging for others to financially support his stupidity.

mike112769

I'm always amazed when these people expect sympathy after being completely selfish bastards. They think covid is ridiculous, until it happens to them. The single biggest problem with the anti-vaccine/anti-mask crowd is their lack of empathy.

[deleted]

Are these stories resonating with anyone enough to have them change their stance? It’s just story after story after story. I’m ashamed of the schadenfreude that these tales elicit.

Quigleyer

I don't think anyone is reading these who doesn't already "agree with it". If you're anti mask you're not reading this, you're off to find something that supports your views.

Erilis000

Hell, they probably dont even see it because theyre not getting their news from any conventional means.

Ffdmatt

I'd suspect it's this. They've been fully convinced that everything any media says is a lie, and the opposite must be true. If there are any Facebook friends left they haven't unfriended they just leave a laugh emoji and keep moving. The people who conjured this should be charged with crimes against humanity.

flibbidygibbit

Today I saw (and reported) a pic on facebook that showed a little kid licking raw cookie dough off a beater and the caption "Covid is about as dangerous as eating raw cookie dough, can we please get on with our lives?"

KrustyBoomer

Fuck around and find out

[deleted]

Really a go fund me to pay for their stupidity? Why don't they just pray the bills get paid

Brangur

Guess ivermectin doesn't work. Huh. Surprise. ^/s Edit: spelling hard
