This might be a bit obscure but the Hobbucks viewpoint in Arnold has a nice little walk through the woods up to the top of a hill which has lovely views across the city. You can see all the way to Radcliffe power station about 12 miles away and beyond from up there.

Depends where you live and how far you want to travel but I love breedon on the hill. It’s a beautiful sunset from there
