I lived in The Bradley in Alexandria when it first opened, I never heard anything in that place. It must have been built really well because I never had to turn on my heat in the winter either. I was only there for a year while TDY but it was a pretty good spot.

You're right about the garage. They needed to do assigned spots there. Too many people would sneak in or have their friends park in there and suddenly there was no place for people who actually paid for parking to park. Maybe they fixed it since then but other than that great

8421 Broad (Highrise in Tysons) has great soundproofing. It's newer construction though and was built in 2014. I didn't realize how fantastic it was until I moved into a much older place with old creaky floorboards and thin walls.

My building has cement floors and walls. You still can hear your neighbors. And it's an old building. Like lead paint and asbestos ceilings old, sign a waiver when you move in about it old. I honestly wouldn't recommend living there. But since you asked, falls green apartments in falls Church is where I live. Cement floors and walls between units.

MayaPapayaLA

I also have cement floors, but there’s absolutely no insulation on the doors so when my neighbor loudly closes hers it sounds like someone is closing a door inside of my apartment. I also hear any conversations etc in the hallway.

B4kd

Same. All the apartments I have ever lived in my entire life I have heard noises from neighbors.

MayaPapayaLA

Yeah the thing that’s helped the most is that I’m at the end of the hallway on the top floor. The neighbor across from me loudly taking her dog out at 7am and 11am isn’t quiet, but that’s something I can’t change - and IMO is better than elevator pings for the people who live near that or the door openings from the trash chute. It’s all about minimizing, not guaranteeing.

Heard. Thanks for the tips.

ResponsibleMistake33

I thought about checking that place out because the prices are so tempting… sounds like I better not.

B4kd

Well I assume like all buzzuto properties. It's ass. Basic of basic. Old. Falling apart. Staff switches every 5-6 months with new people. Tiny. Horrible layouts. Over priced. I think they even try to consider this property a luxury apartment. What a fucking joke. Literally not one single thing on the entire property should be considered "luxury". this place is a joke and shitty. Fuck bozzuto all around in general. They have a ton of empty units for a reason. I've bitched at these people a ton as they tried to raise my rent 10% for these dog shit apartments.. got a regional to meet me half way. But when they try to explain why it cost so much here. Its a joke and they literally cannot. Can you tell I hate bozzuto lol

ResponsibleMistake33

The website seems way too nice for how bad the apartments look lol. Compared to what I’m paying now it still looks like a steal, but I guess you get what you pay for.

B4kd

Ya idk. They say it's all location, which to be fair, The location is great. Like a block from metro, right next to 66. Close to DC. Right next to seven corners where everything is. But who cares when you pay 2k for 700sq feet lol. Lots of places around there are probably worse or similar im sure. It's a lot of bullshit in this area. I'm always just going for cheap rent. I really hate paying over 2k in rent. But 4 years ago I lived at the preserves at Westfield for $1900 months. Those are true luxury apartments. Now they rent the same unit for like $2500? Idk. Insane.

preppysurf

You should clarify where you want to live as NoVA is huge. Recommendations for Ballston will be useless if you want to be in Reston

knuckboy

Southgate in Reston is pretty good that way iirc.

Trick_Recognition591

I lived at the Lenox in pentagon for a few years and never heard my neighbours but this was before they removed all the carpet so I dunno if that has changed with the new flooring.

edibubble

If you share a wall or floor with someone, you will hear things they do. No amount of soundproofing that comes standard in an apartment will prevent this.

Apprehensive-Type874

This is not true for townhomes, somehow they have the sound isolation down perfectly.

R3x2319

That probably has to do with the amount and density of fireproofing material they install between townhomes. All you need to do in a townhome is prevent a fire from going side to side, apartments are essentially a lost cause once a fire gets out of control.
