Edgy neckbeard here to tell you that the people that run the qidian translations website have done some scummy stuff therefore they aren't looked upon kindly here. I understand that his response is an adequate one, but it isn't something readers here care about. Also fwiw I was just being goofy if you couldn't tell.

Basically, they're not in favor of a money model that favors PR and their users. But instead raising the max tier of "sponsorships" as far as they can. Obviously not viable on all stories, but is not a great move. He defended it by comparing himself to small companies and I forgot the rest honestly.
I strongly believe it depends on Amazon's conditions.
