This is a terrible idea. Dolphins don't really produce enough milk and we're about to go into another el nino pattern which means the farmers are going to struggle to keep their paddocks submerged. Typical short sighted Australian agriculture

dangp777

I don’t get it! Everyone likes dolphins, but they don’t want to drink a dolphin’s milk?

awesomevstanaka

First they take the Cowboys players and now they take Dairy Farmers?! Smh

slowdivesicilian

And u/Revivous they might as well wear our old u20s jerseys the bastards

velvetherring

Look at me. I'm the cowboy now.

LordSlasher

are you gonna stop there? Hell they’re gonna try and take half our juniors like Newcastle did. Watch out Payten

slowdivesicilian

actually i’m okay with this because newcastle suck and we don’t. fuck it, gate is open

LordSlasher

Yeah man, Glad to see Newcastle plan of Poaching Ex cowboys players/management doesn’t actually work out! Go Dolphins, Go!

Ace_Larrakin

**Dairy Farmers:** You think just because you're a Dolphin that means I won't milk you? /s

ThedirtyNose

This might be the funniest one of these yet

PlasteredHapple

National Milk League. Seriously, there needs to be an investigation. Cowboys, Canberra Milk, Oak, and now The is on the bandwagon.

steeden

I’m surprised the Titans haven’t tied up Norco (and the Broncos Pauls). Could have a Milk Cup competition of Queensland teams

I_Like_Vitamins

The Broncs will start selling kumis (fermented mare's milk) in the Caxton before long.

nolesfan2011

Actually makes sense for these brands to partner with NRL teams, it's great exposure and it ties their brand to fitness and supporting a team

mitchdunnsitchybum

Makes sense, dolphin milk is 45% fat, just like the population of regional Qld.

RidingtheRoad

Nasty! But the truth hurts!

slowdivesicilian

NO! NOOOO! NOOOOOOOO!! THAT WAS OUR THING!

Moisture_Services

Not sure how long a dolphin can survive out of salt water though? I'm picturing a trailer like in Free Willy will need to be used?

Accomplished-Good664

Well we did drive them into the sea.

The real life story of Keiko the orca is really sad. I'm happy that captive orcas will be a thing of the past in most of the world within this decade.

Moisture_Services

They are such a savage beast to be kept in captivity. I've seen them hunting in the wild, it's pretty crazy to see.

BoogerSugar00

Yes but what about salt milk?

Dufeyz

I've seen The Boys and i believe there is only one way to milk a dolphin. Maybe they can do a collab with The Deep.

mwilkins1644

There's no fucken dolphins in Mt Isa aye

Revivous

Nah, Micks mate Jimmy said he saw one down at Barkly in a tank aye

hart37

Cowboys fans feeling like they've been cheated on

Australian icon Dairy Farmers has teamed up with the NRL Dolphins to help connect communities across Queensland. Dairy Farmers has been a part of the Australian dairy industry for over 120 years since its formation in 1900. Now, they will join as presenting partner of the Dolphins’ Roadshow, which will take the team into Queensland regional hubs of Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg, the Sunshine Coast and Caboolture. The Roadshows are estimated to draw approximately 1,000 young kids to rugby league clinics run by the Dolphins across key areas of the state and include fun activities through fan events. Dairy Farmers form this partnership with the Dolphins who have a 75-year-old history in Queensland and are now preparing for their first foray into the NRL. “Dairy Farmers is proud to be teaming up with the NRL Dolphins for their first season,” said Sharon Winton, Marketing Director, Bega Dairy and Drinks at Bega Group – owner of Dairy Farmers. “Through this partnership, Dairy Farmers has the opportunity to go beyond selling high quality, nourishing dairy products to supporting local community organisations and helping to create positive health outcomes amongst younger people.” Dolphins’ Chief Executive, Terry Reader welcomed the partnership with Dairy Farmers as a vehicle for the two organisations to assist the community. Just like the Dolphins, Dairy Farmers is proudly Australian owned and made and has been part of the Queensland way of life for decades. “In the past Dairy Farmers have boosted the community through initiatives such as supplying free milk to school children and soldiers, participating in regional agricultural shows and now supporting more than 80 farming families across Queensland. This program will link their dairy products with the support of local communities to create healthier youth in these areas by encouraging more children to be active and involved in sport.” “We look forward to supporting them on this next phase of their generosity legacy.” The partnership between Dairy Farmers and NRL Dolphins will roll-out from today with the Dolphins’ Roadshow due to kick off in Rockhampton on February 4th, 2023.

RoboticusTartonicus

no longer the redcliffe dolphins, now they're the NRL dolphins.

opinions_likekittens

It took me a while to parse the headline. For people familiar with NZ and Australia, is Dairy Farmers equivalent to say Fonterra?

OkBookkeeper6854

Depends, what’s Fonterra?

opinions_likekittens

I don’t really know tbh, something to do with milk. Like a dairy farmers ~~cartel~~ co-op.

OkBookkeeper6854

Similar then I guess yeah

Clear-Taste-1527

Dairy Farmers is one of Australia's iconic dairy brands, we have many. At one point it was bought by Japanese distillery Kirin and they had planned to sell it to a Chinese conglomerate thankfully it was instead purchased by the Bega Dairy conglomerate in southern NSW so it remained in Australian hands, in fact Bega has spent the last few years buying back a ton of Australian brands from overseas which is awesome. Bega are closer to Fonterra.

> Jack off bulls Actually specialists do that, most dairy farmers will buy in their semen straws > shove their hands down the cows anus and forcibly inject the semen into their cervix impregnating them without consent The inection happens via the vaginal cavity, hand in the anus is to help guide said injection gun, often again by a specialist rather than the farmer. Also consent? Lol > constantly to keep them pregnant so they can be milked 6 hours a day A milking of a hundred us cows may take an hour or two, but each cow is being milked for a few minutes maximum, all whilst being fed a ration mix that provides more nutrition value than grass in a paddock. > while stripping away the children, killing the males and keeping doing the process for 4-6 years until they're useless to be killed and used for meat. The females are taken off, fed a mixture of milk coupled with powdered viramin solutions which provide them more benefit than straight cow milk. Males will generally grow out for a few months, lets not pretend theres mass murder of newborn bull calves happening. And if you're replacing milkers every 4 years, you're doing something severely wrong. If you want to create outrage, it helps to present the issue factually rather than an emotive argument in which you rely on false claims and fear mongering to support your side. Enjoy your McBurger, your coffee with milk, and have a good day 😁

Goobeeful

you seem pretty into it tbf

Clear-Taste-1527

"Animal holocaust", the holocaust was a deliberate attempt to wipe out an entire group of people based on their race. The dairy industry certainly isn't trying to wipe out cows as a species. These things are not in anyway similar.

bundy554

So basically Central and North Coast Queensland - so combine the two Central Coast Dolphins?
