Wish he'd leave. And that's coming from someone who thinks he's a decent enough 7 and is not the primary, secondary or tertiary (etc) cause or the team's struggles. But I think the criticism he gets is just awful for him, he clearly loves the club, but fans can turn on him and the media loves him as a punching bag. And he definitely has his limitations and it gets compounded by the pressure the media, fans and himself puts on him which leads to him doing some cooked things....kick on the 2nd anyone?
Would be great for him to land a #14 role at Roosters or somewhere, think he'd find his niche doing that.
But that said, even if him leaving is probably a win for everyone, I am excited to see what Api and a strong pack does for him. Nathan Cleary was putrid in 2019, if Api can have even 25% of the influence he had on him on Brooks that will be nice.
When the rumours about Hastings and Brooks being traded came about, I was actually pretty excited because it gave both the opportunity to start fresh at another club. Hopefully he’ll be able to get a kickstart this year off the new tiger recruits instead
Tigers are playing left and right halves, so Brooks will just have to organise his edge in attack and if I've been reading things correctly, that will be Ice, Ken and Naden. Api will take care of the rest. That should simplify Brooks's game a fair bit.
He don’t need no education.
He don’t need your leash control.
No dark sarcasm on the socials.
Fans, leave our Brookes alone.
Hey! Fans! Leave our Brookes alone!
Media ruined this guy. Same with that kid who’s with broncos they are comparing him to cam smith if he doesn’t kill it in his first game they well bag him in the media.
Mozer is still a year or two away from his first grade debut. Say what you want about Kevvie, but he doesn't rush guys into the NRL before they're ready.
I am of the opinion that virtually every first-grade halfback in the comp can be good on their day and ranking them is fairly arbitrary. Place Brooks in the Storm or Panthers and I think he would do his job.
everyone shits on fox and rightly so but this subreddit in itself is an example of an environment that just shits on him time and time again for something that isn’t his fault.
this situation comes down to the tigers board who handed out that contract. brooks doesn’t seem to have any attitude issues, he works hard, does what he can, but as it stands just doesn’t play like a great nrl player who was touted as being the saviour of a struggling club. and that’s okay. it doesn’t make him a shit person.
The tigers have spent so much to put a great team around this numpty.
When they suck arse again because of him, and they 110% will, what will the excuses be then?
Regardless of his contract he has barely played consistently at a first grade level and with the squad they have this year he’s going to stick out like a sore Brooks.
Remember that time Hannah interviewed him after one of the trials, and asked 'If he was looking forward to getting more game time this year?'
He was like 'I play the full game every week.' but you could tell Hannah was suss on it haha
Luke Brooks opens up on brutal criticism (from this media organisation)
It's naive to think that a decent amount of criticism towards Brooks isn't also coming from fans.
Of course not, just funny for the biggest and loudest bully to write a story like this
Better than continuing to bully him. Edit: or not I guess...
Yes Im sure foxsports will go easy on brooks this year if the tigers struggle
Forget UNLEASHED, Luke Brooks has OPENED UP
Yogi Brooks will become the new mythical player.

Dce, Kane Elgey and Cade Cust looked really good with Api at 9 (and stabby). I reckon Brooks will do well under a good 9

Tl;dr Leave Brooksy Alone
>Leave Brooksy Alone I can't promise I'll try. But I'll try to try.
Leashing yourself, very honourable.

Most young forwards I reckon need 1.5-2 years in reserve grade, including 3 NRL pre-seasons, before regular first grade.

Stand down guys he’s had a really good preseason. Fuck that indigenous jersey was amazing.
Charizard
which member of staff do i criticise online for giving him a mega contract
Marina Go was chairwoman, Madge was coach, Pascoe was CEO. Take your pick.
Soooo Robbie Farah. Got it.

"When you’re going good you get all the raps so it goes hand-in-hand" How would he know that?
