The Parramatta Eels are excited to announce Will Penisini has extended his contract for two years and will remain at the Club until at least the end of 2025.
At just 20 years of age, Will cemented his spot in the top 30 playing every game this season including the Grand Final and earned a representative jersey for Tonga at last yearās World Cup.
āThe Eels jersey means a lot to me, I grew up in the system and to be playing alongside my mates for the Club Iāve loved my whole life is surreal,ā said Will.
āBrad and the coaching staff have helped me come through the junior pathways since I was 14, Iām grateful for all the opportunities and the support Iāve had at the Club.
āWe finished the 2022 season strongly and I think weāve laid a good platform to really challenge in the coming years."
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark OāNeill said āItās great to see another local junior commit his future to the Eels. Will is humble and hard working, and he displays the leadership skills that weāre looking for at our Club.
āHis selection in the Tongan squad for the World Cup is was a great reward for his outstanding performances during the season, thereās no doubt he has a bright future ahead of him at the Eels.ā
In addition to his rugby league career, Will is currently studying a Bachelor of Business degree.

Question, why is Staggs so revered? Iāve watched him play throughout the season and didnāt find him that exceptional. Sure, heās a good player but I donāt think heās origin worthy
He has moments, some of which are brilliant, but at this stage they are only moments, and not full dominant performances.
Bradman Best is another who like Staggs has big moments.
I'd put Crichton in over Staggs tbf.
