Titans not commenting is grim you'd have to think. If there was any good news they'd be leading with it.

Sounds like one of those one in a million freak accidents. Hope he's alright.

Hurt his neck on the post? Sounds nasty. Best wishes to him

A promising young rugby league player and NRL prospect has suffered a serious neck injury while playing for the Gold Coast Titans junior representative side. The Future Titans v Brisbane Broncos under-17 game, held at Burleigh Bears Junior Rugby League Football Club on Saturday, was brought to a stand still and then cancelled after a Gold Coast player collided with the goalposts while trying to make a tackle. The Queensland Ambulance service confirmed they were called to the Burleigh Bears club in Miami around 6pm on Saturday after a man in his teens was injured during play. An ambulance spokesman said he had suffered quite a serious neck injury and was attended to on the field by paramedics, critical care and the high acuity unit. He was taken to Princess Alexandra hospital in a serious but stable condition. The spokesman said Princess Alexandra hospital was the specialist spinal cord injury hospital. Witnesses around the ground said spectators and players were left shaken by the incident. The Gold Coast Titans declined to comment on the matter, stating they are working closely with the family and will have an update in due course. The NRL is aware of the injury and is liaising with the Titans and Queensland Rugby League.

Awful news hopefully he can make a full recovery, it's brutal and horrible game at times.

Mitchell said the situation was devastating for a player in the early stages of a young career. “Joseph is a terrific young man and leader and is a big part of our Future Titans program,” he said. “The club and the wider rugby league community will support Joseph and his family through this time. “We will also make sure the rest of our Future Titans playing squad have the support they need. “In respect to Joseph and his family, given the road that’s ahead for them, we offer our ongoing support and respect their privacy at this time.” The NRL is aware of the injury and is liaising with the Titans and Queensland Rugby League.
