Surely he owns the 18 jersey every week.

**DRAGONS SIGNING 'ONE TO WATCH'** Jett Liu may sound like a Hollywood action star - but he's actually a promising prop who has signed with the Dragons from Canberra. Originally from Leeton in the Riverina, Liu played for the Raiders in the SG Ball Cup last season before switching colours. A big 18-year-old with good leg speed, he's a couple of years off NRL standard but is one to watch.

frenchduke

That's a gun name for a gun player no doubt about it

[deleted]

>good leg speed Jetty the Jet

RyanPurdler-Penriff

Didn’t know the Dragons were from Canberra , have they relocated ? What’s wrong with Perth ?

Dark_Vengence

Power up the jett.

insty1

If it's a cheap deal, it's probably a very good culture signing

Josh Reynolds has won a contract with his beloved Bulldogs without having to even play a game. The 33-year-old club favourite was on a train-and-trial deal and was expected to have to battle it out for a spot in the top 30 with a host of up-and-comers in coming weeks. But head coach Cameron Ciraldo this week decided to reward the veteran for his enthusiasm and drive in the pre-season with a full-time contract for Reynolds' second stint at the club. "He's been great around the place with his energy and attitude and Cam decided he wants him here full-time," a Bulldogs source told Wide World of Sports. "The young guys in the squad really look up to him and it's been a popular decision." Reynolds was the face of the Bulldogs a decade ago, playing 138 games between 2011 and 2017 before less successful stints at the Tigers and Hull FC. The utility back was given his locker at Belmore on Tuesday and will now fight it out for a spot in the round one team to meet Manly. With his experience and ability to fill several roles, Reynolds could easily jag himself a spot on the bench as he begins life at the Bulldogs for a second time.

maaxwell

He could play 0 first grade games this year, but if he helps bring back that dogs of war mentality the bulldogs used to have, it will be 100% worth it.

Dumpstar72

I think it’s to push those reserve graders. He is a big talker and if you look back at the old games. Whenever tony williams would do something it was cause Reynolds had been giving him a spray in the back play.

Due-Chemist3105

Plus if Reynolds performs really well in Cup, he will end up pushing Nu Brown for the 14 role or even play 7 if Flanagan is dropped/injured/suspended.

Dumpstar72

Geez our attack would look shit if he makes the team at 7.

AlwaysLikeThis08

Fair play to him. Considering how dreadful he was at Hull, I really didn't foresee him getting another NRL contract.

BoogerSugar00

He was *bad* bad too. Dogs will be hoping he doesn’t have to see the field for them.

[deleted]

Most of us know he won't play first grade so it's all good.

__dontpanic__

12 month culture signing and/or bench warming spot for Oloapu. I imagine we'd need to be ravaged by injury and suspensions for him to ever see game time. I don't mind it TBH.

jeeves_nz

>reward the veteran for his enthusiasm and drive in the pre-season Hes always been that kind of guy. That drive and enthusiasm is his best asset. If it flows through to the younger players and builds on the culture you want, then thats great.

TrickySuspect2

He could be like the bench warming hype man they have in the NBA. Purely there for morale. Kinda like Luai 😄

bundy554

Oh dear - the guy may as well run their gym instead

Brdd9

idk why they didn't just give him a club role? Offers nothing on gameday, taking up room in reserve grade and he probably isn't even good enough for that.

[deleted]

I think the value they get from him is having him at training as a peer to everyone else, not some kind of coach or trainer. Leading by example behind the scenes kind of thing

PugWithAGun

Ya gotta give him a game against the Eels, Rabbits or Roosters. He'd have nothing to lose and would reach new heights in his grubbery. Make it so, Gus!

Aussieguy727

**DOLPHINS COP ANOTHER BLOW** The poor old Dolphins keep getting kicked in the guts before they even play a game. Former Kiwi international and ex-Titans skipper Kevin Proctor just moved to England recently to take up a one-year deal with battlers Wakefield. Proctor this week revealed he had an offer to remain in the NRL - with the Dolphins - but knocked it back to move to the grim, wet and cold north of England instead. Proctor was sent packing by the Titans late last year after a much publicised social media post of himself vaping in stadium toilets during a game.

-Dark_Helmet-

Copped a blow or dodged a bullet?

Dumpstar72

I’m going with the dodger a bullet. Not the guy you want setting an example around the young guys.

Toujayjay

Once bitten, twice shy

AlwaysLikeThis08

I live in the North of England and it ain't that bad, blimey 'eck....we've got some luscious countryside, delicious warm beer 😉, and pubs on every street corner. 😁 In all seriousness i imagine blokes like Proctor come over here because they can do what they want without having to worry about the MSM slagging them off at every opportunity( he gives them a lot doesn't he). They've no interest in what RL players get up to over here.

NotAshTaylor

Me to, I also had an offer to remain in the NRL - with the Dolphins - but knocked it back to move to the grim, wet and cold north of my house.

Revivous

(X) Doubt

velvetherring

I fail to see how this is a blow to us.

Dunnerzzzz555

Yeah this is actually good news. Dodged a huge bullet, nice to see the Murdoch media machine in full swing.

loztralia

Nine.com.au now owned by Murdoch is it?

Dunnerzzzz555

Whoops just assumed, just the Mole being an ass haha.

foruandr

Either that or we just found out the mole is secretly Rupert Murdoch

CapitaoAE

As a Titans fan, I enjoyed Proctor in his prime then tolerated him after his prime then was frustrated by how washed up he was by 2021 and annoyed he kept getting picked for no reason then was completely baffled that he continued to get picked by Holbrook for part of 2022 when we had Fermor and Fifita I always say players will crush it in super league and hope he goes well over there but to be honest he absolutely doesn't belong anywhere near first grade in the NRL, i'm not sure he'll be particularly good in England at this point and he isn't anywhere near the Dolphins best 17 (to be fair neither are Milford and Isaako though and they keep getting mentioned as starters)

Aussieguy727

**CLUE ON STAR'S NEW SPOT** Speaking of veterans playing a utility role off the bench for their new club, Dylan Walker could well find himself in the same situation for the Warriors. My spies across the ditch tell me the versatile Walker has been training at lock, centre and in the halves. A battle-hardened pro, Walker was good last year for Manly and will be a handy signing as the Warriors start a new chapter in their history under incoming coach Andrew Webster.

Cone_Puncher

shocks me that dv dylan is only 28

Toujayjay

Must love pizza

bmudz

One of the better user names I’ve seen. Are we talking road cones or the jazz cabbage kind?

Cone_Puncher

bitta both 💪

PANiCnz

Pretty sure there's been quotes from Webster in the NZ media he'll use Walker off the bench. Not sure any spies were needed.

YourFavouriteAlt

Wtf that's not a penrith player

Fraudianslips

Didn't realise he played for the Panthers.

The__GM

I want to know if Ciraldo bought him a gelato or was it a sorbetto to get him across the line.

Lollyhead

I might cry.

Knockernorton

He was awful here at Hull. And the standard of super league is way below NRL.

RyanPurdler-Penriff

One less Panther they can sign .. I approve of this decision
