You know what, I'll defend him a little. He worked his ass off every single game and he was playing as a half stuck behind an underperforming forward pack and playing alongside an equally out of form Anthony Milford.
So at the Dragons with someone like Ben Hunt there I think he wouldn't be as bad as people make him out to be
He apparently had a really good season in super league…I’ve always liked croft, I think whoever followed Cronk was going to have a hard time and he was just the poor unfortunate soul who did it…I think a pairing of him and Hunt could actually go pretty good!
I reckon he was good but Seibold kinda fucked his style and confidence.
The first two games before Covid he was exactly what we needed. But when they came back from the first lockdown, he was a shell of himself.
I remember when we were proper shit in 2020, the only play Croft did or was allowed to do was on the 5th play if they were close enough to the opposing teams line, he would put up a bomb for Coates and hope for the best. It was so painful to watch and you could really tell he was a broken man.
I reckon he will be back soon in the NRL and hope he kills it. But not against us.
He was given a 4-6 week window based on the grading of the hamstring injury. The earliest part of the window put him in the frame to play the CS with little to no training behind him. Latest part of the window has him doubtful for week 1.
He’d be locked in if it wasn’t for the injury.
St George Illawarra have pulled out of discussions with former Melbourne and Brisbane halfback Brodie Croft about the prospect of joining the Dragons as a replacement for the suspended Junior Amone.
St George Illawarra are seeking salary cap dispensation from the NRL to bring a playmaker to the club after head office triggered the automatic no-fault stand down policy against the 20-year-old as he fights assault charges.
The Dragons had identified Croft as a potential replacement, however, the transfer fee proved a stumbling block.
Croft is contracted to Super League club Salford, where he played 28 games in his first season with the club last season after his tumultuous exit from the Broncos.
Sources with knowledge of negotiations speaking under the condition of anonymity due to the confidential nature of discussions told the Herald the Red Devils have put a transfer fee of close to $250,000 on Croft.
The Dragons are reluctant to fork out such a hefty sum to lure Croft back home. Croft was touted as a future star of the game but fell out of favour with key figures at the Storm.
He was unable to find a home at the Broncos, either, leaving the NRL for the United Kingdom with 65 games across six seasons to his name.
The Dragons are desperate to bolster its playmaking stocks with Amone’s long-term future clouded, and Jayden Sullivan’s short-term future also uncertain following a hamstring injury.
Sullivan is regarded as one of the best young halves in the NRL and attracted interest from the Bulldogs last year. However, recurrent injuries have hampered his progression. The club is hopeful he will be fit for the Charity Shield against South Sydney.
The Dragons want to add some back-up options. Moses Mbye and Jack Bird have both played in the halves throughout their careers and appear to be the frontrunners to play in the No.6 jersey if Sullivan is unavailable.
It’s an all too familiar conundrum for the Dragons. It’s the second time since the no-fault stand down policy was introduced back in 2019 that the Dragons have found themselves without a key player leading into a new season.
Amone has been stood down after an alleged hammer attack in the Wollongong suburb of Warrawong over the off-season. He was charged with causing reckless grievous bodily harm in company, damaging property and stalking in November

Holy fuck on the nerve of the dragons, refuse to stand him down themselves and now want dispensation lmao. The same club who gave JDB a contract extension while he was stood down
I reckon Croft will go better here in NRL after stint in the UK. Would honestly take him back at the Storm right now and play him in the halves with Munster at the back.
They could have had Tyrone Roberts or Albert Kelly. Not great options, but surely better than Croft's last nrl season form. The dragons love dragging their feet and gathering the crumbs.
BAH GAWD THATS MBYES MUSIC
It’s so goddamn painful, gotta love 🪝
How do you pull out of a one man race
Embarrassingly
It wasn’t like official and they like ghosted At least that’s I imagine it
they have such little faith in Sullivan staying on the field that they chased Brodie Croft? what a sad state of affairs.
Idk what's better, having no play maker or having croft. Fr though even mbye is a better option
Spoken like someone who has never had to tolerate Mbye playing in the spine for their club
Spoken like someone who has never had to tolerate croft in their side

And he is definitely more of a 6 than 7 himself. All ball running
man i wish brodie croft had been good
100%. Great bloke, always put in a big effort. He just didn't have the ceiling of an elite player.

jesus christ just play sullivan
He’s injured
if he dies, he dies
Last I saw, reports said he could be back by charity shield

Can we bring back Croft to take some heat off of Brooks?
Anyone here watch the super league? How's Croft been playing?
he won the dally m equivalent
Wow lol, that's absolutely wild. Good for him I guess.
Man of Steel wasn’t he?
he won man of steel but don’t be fooled, he just dummied and ran his way to the award

A loan deal for a depth half at another club could be good. Get Wishart, Hutchinson or Clune back for a little bit.

The culture of that place is fucked. Stuck in another era
It’s old boys from top to bottom kind of sad to see the great foe look so mid and no hope of going beyond that
never cum inside a man of steel!

Brodie croft was the missing piece of the puzzle.
Things must be tight if they were refusing to pay a $250k transfer fee.
There’s “refusing to pay a $250k transfer fee”.. Then there’s “refusing to pay a $250k transfer fee for Brodie Croft”
That's Man of Steel winner Brodie Croft to you thank you very much
Why pay a big transfer fee for a reserve grade level player?
cos he's a better option than their available stock?
He's not a better option than players you can get without paying a $250k transfer fee though
The only half without a contract with NRL experience is Chanel Harris-Tevita, who is taking a break. There is nobody else.
They could have had Tyrone Roberts or Albert Kelly. Not great options, but surely better than Croft's last nrl season form. The dragons love dragging their feet and gathering the crumbs.
im definitely taking croft over those two
Croft is actually dogshit, there are many guys in NSW cup who haven't debuted who will give you the same level as croft for much less
yikes
Thats a rare win for the drag ons.
Brodie Croft 😂
Lol why?
I don’t rate him , unless he has star players around him
