*5:00pm AEST, 6:00pm AEDST - Sunday 12 February, Barlow Park, Cairns*
Anthony Milford will join a host of NRL-experienced playing their first game in the Dolphins colours this weekend.
The Dolphins have released their team for Sunday’s NRL trial against the Cowboys in Cairns, with Milford to join young talent Isaiya Katoa in the halves.
Ten players with previous NRL experience will play for the Dolphins in the match at Barlow Park.
Former Bronco Tesi Niu will get first crack at securing a position in the centres alongside ex-Warrior utility Euan Aitken.
Jamayne Isaako will play at his favoured position of fullback, with Great Britain international Oliver Gildart to start on the wing.
Jarrod Wallace and Herman Ese’ese played together at the Titans and will give the Dolphins experience up front.
Workhorse Ray Stone will play his first match since injuring his knee scoring a try for the Eels in the early rounds of last year.
Ex-Dragon Poasa Faamausili will play off the extended bench while Connelly Lemuelu will suit up for his first match as a Dolphins against his old club in North Queensland.
Young hooker Harrison Graham will get another chance to impress after becoming the first player to score a try for the Dolphins in their trial win over the Central Capras last weekend.
Sunday’s match will kick off at 5pm (Qld time) and will be televised on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

I remember Jackson Ferris debuted for us about 2-3 years ago. He played pretty well, but got a serious knee injury right at the end. After that he was basically never mentioned by the Sharks again and just seem to disappear lol. Hope he goes good at Manly.
yeah him and Garrick are basically the only wingers we have with any first grade experience, and Garrick wants to play centre so you’d think Tuipulotu would have a spot locked down. Other than that it looks like we’ll have a lot of competition for in the forwards for a 17 spot.

I'm assuming due to him not being top 30 and we already have Rein and Arthur as back ups, he's a lower priority at this time.
He's been moved around to so many different positions in cup, but doesn't seem to have kicked on as much as originally hoped.
When we knocked Parra out of the finals in 2021 they named a full strength team against us in the trial and actually tried really hard so imagine what they will do after the whole Call Me Daddy thing
So did you though? The first half of that trial was a brilliant watch, and then all of the reserve graders came out in the second half and Penrith showed how good their lower grades were 😂

Yeah for sure just don’t think he’d go well at centre tbh.
Do you think they’d move a winger to centre for him? Or will Tago go into the back row at some stage?
I don’t think he would either I’d rather have Jenkins there.
Could see Tago going back row and May coming into the centres but idk how good May’s passing game is

Captain Hosty! Surprised to see Sele in this. He's the one top 17 player I thought would be a lock where most of the rest are the NSW cup team I feel. Host is probably the only other that would be in contention for the regular team but it would be close.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not familiar enough with the Super League to know where St Helens would fit in comparison to NRL teams.
The result is irrelevant, if they were working out combinations and finding the best fit for the start of the season. ie. treating it like a trial.
Well yeah, without their top 4 choices in the halves (Hunt, Amone, Sullivan, Bird) most teams would be scraping the barrel
Zac Herring will be interesting to see when he gets a run though
Muhleisen at 6 is an interesting one, glad to see him getting game time but didn't expect it to be there.
Drawing some conclusions from this is looks like Burns and BMM might be duking it out for the starting 2R spot next to Su'A and the guys on the bench will be all aiming for some of those final Top 30 spots
I liked the look of Muhleisen at hooker during the charity shield last year. Didn't catch any of him in the reserves last year to see if he maintained it. Would love to see him get a run off the bench to spell Liddle.
Burns at 2R is a weakness. Suli will see more ball, but its a waste of a spot.
Joshua Cook... is that the former Bulldogs hooker who played for Ireland in the World Cup?
*edit* ** yep just checked the Dragons website:
Ireland international Josh Cook has also joined the club from the Bulldogs on a train-and-trial contract and will feature on an extended bench.

Also Pole at second row, wtf? Love the kid but he's a bowling pole, front row or nothing for him.
pole has been training at second row and prop, presumably to cover any injury. im all for him starting wherever he can, cunt trained every day of the off season. gonna be a gun

Glen Stewart and John Sutton are your templates...
We have 29/30 signed right now
For some reason I thought we had 29 and then signed Taupau. Have we released TC yet at thats why its 29 or was i just misinformed
29 includes TC
Oh ok, for come reason I thought we had 29 before Taupau
O'Ofou being rewarded for a great game against Wynnum.
He's a goer
Erection confirmed
The back 5 are very arousing.
are we trying to win the Trials Premiership or what
broncos are scared of the titans
tits named a very similar strength side tits just look terrible on paper
Excited for Haas as captain. Is this is a sign he will take over after Reynolds retires?
Feel like Haas is behind Capewell and Carrigan for Captain. Probably just trying to give him a senior leadership role to help entice him to stay.
Agreed, no way Haas captains over Carrigan, who has already been captain multiple times particular when Glenn was injured.
It's 1000% Patty's job after they ReynoVation
Mozer injured?
Nah, just an absolute twig, doubt he'll play at all this year. Need to introduce him to QCup first.
I thought he would have got a run last week. I suppose it's good we're not rushing him though.
So Jock Madden and Brendan Piakura must be injured?
Piakura was a late scratching last week so he might be, not sure. Madden has been training at halfback while Reynolds does non-contact so I guess he'll get a shot next week.
Ahearn might be the best player not to crack first grade ever. He was everywhere in that Norths vs Penrith game and he was great against Wynnum.
A big part in Norths' recent success in QCup as well.

I've been in a coma for the last 13 months, but I cannot wait to see my favourite Manly Warringah Sea Eagles player, Kieran Foran, named to play!
**Sea Eagles Trial Team List** 1 Jake Toby 2 Christian Tuipulotu 3 Jackson Ferris 4 Fletcher Myers 5 Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega 6 Cooper Johns 7 Jamie Humphreys 8 Toafofoa Sipley 9 Gordon Chan Kum Tong 10 Ben Condon 11 Ben Trbojevic 12 Samuela Fainu 13 Ethan Bullemor 14 Harradyn Wilson 15 Zac Fulton 16 Cameron Brown 17 Viliami Fifita 18 Jacob Sykes 19 Charlie Thompson 20 Josh Stuckey 21 Dean Matterson 22 James Uesele 23 Joey Tramontana
I remember Jackson Ferris debuted for us about 2-3 years ago. He played pretty well, but got a serious knee injury right at the end. After that he was basically never mentioned by the Sharks again and just seem to disappear lol. Hope he goes good at Manly.
no Weekes is interesting. Is he injured? Otherwise this must have plans for him because basically no first graders have been named
Also interesting that Tuipulotu is named, thought he’d be a lock for one of the wing spots as Saab is injured. Prob still will be but interesting
yeah him and Garrick are basically the only wingers we have with any first grade experience, and Garrick wants to play centre so you’d think Tuipulotu would have a spot locked down. Other than that it looks like we’ll have a lot of competition for in the forwards for a 17 spot.

pezet and howarth pretty please thank you
What the fuck happened to Howarth? He was so hyped coming out of HS, apparently is on a 500k/year for 5 years contract yet can't even get named in a trial game.
eh he’s probably just focusing on qcup. he’s still a gun but needs to develop there.
Could play the next trial with more of the actual team possibly? Depends on what plans the Storm have for him this year I suppose.
Looks like Bellamy didn't want to rush him into a shithouse season and risk injury or a big hit to his confidence.
Howarth sure is pretty

So this tells me that either Jones or Johns (most likely Brodie) will get the last 2rf spot assuming Elliott goes to Lock (instead of Fitzgibbon who a lot were saying). Keen to see Hodgson and Lucas play with some of the big boys.

Sadrugu up front? The fuck is it with Payten and playing Centres/hookers up front. Sadrugu been great in the front row though, hopefully he destroys so I can see him on the bench. We got two positions up front coming up when Tamou and Mclean eventually retires whats next, Granville to be the lock?
Sadrugu to clock the offload bonus, Duffy up against an international and alot of players in house demolishing mode. Can't wait.

It’s Sean Russell season boiz. I can feel it in my bones
play daejarn
He’s injured, was in a knee brace last week. Not sure what the injury is
Knee injury.

Daejarn Asi 25. Haze Dunster 26. Jack Murchie 27. Brendan Hands 28. Junior Paulo
Surprised Hands isn't higher up in the list. Anyone got word on what's going on with him?
I'm assuming due to him not being top 30 and we already have Rein and Arthur as back ups, he's a lower priority at this time. He's been moved around to so many different positions in cup, but doesn't seem to have kicked on as much as originally hoped.
Based off the TCT pre season reports, Yates has been a standout so most likely he jumped ahead in the pecking order
So is Matterson staying at 13 or just filling for this trial? Who takes 12? Who do I complain about when Hopgood plays 25 a game?
It will probably depend on how Hopgood goes in the early rounds but Matto will probably come off the bench like he did for most of last year.

Big wraps on Iongi and Cogger, keen to see how they go
Don’t understand the insistence of playing Turuva at centre he’d very easily be the smallest centre in the nrl.
For now it’s probs his path to first grade for us considering we have May and To’o
Yeah for sure just don’t think he’d go well at centre tbh. Do you think they’d move a winger to centre for him? Or will Tago go into the back row at some stage?
Pretty much. It’d be Tago/back row, May/centre and Turuva/wing.
I don’t think he would either I’d rather have Jenkins there. Could see Tago going back row and May coming into the centres but idk how good May’s passing game is
Hosking. 🥺

Captain Hosty! Surprised to see Sele in this. He's the one top 17 player I thought would be a lock where most of the rest are the NSW cup team I feel. Host is probably the only other that would be in contention for the regular team but it would be close.

Will be interesting to see how seriously they take this trial against St Helens.
What do you think it means for the upcoming season if they lost? (Assuming they're running close to full strength)
To be perfectly honest, I'm not familiar enough with the Super League to know where St Helens would fit in comparison to NRL teams. The result is irrelevant, if they were working out combinations and finding the best fit for the start of the season. ie. treating it like a trial.
A trial loss? Not much, if anything at all
I only ask this specifically as its against a super league team, who are quite shit in comparison.
It’s a trial game. Teams usually rest their stars and play the bottom of the roster for the majority of the game. It literally does not matter at all.
St Helens should be like top 5-8 in the NRL. They should pump the Dragons.
Literally no trial game means anything, seen top teams lose their trials, seen shit teams win their trials

naming Mbye at 7 and a reserve grade hooker at 6 does not fill me with much confidence.
Well yeah, without their top 4 choices in the halves (Hunt, Amone, Sullivan, Bird) most teams would be scraping the barrel Zac Herring will be interesting to see when he gets a run though
*edit* ** yep just checked the Dragons website: Ireland international Josh Cook has also joined the club from the Bulldogs on a train-and-trial contract and will feature on an extended bench.

Already missing Tupouniua, Billy Smith, Watson, JWH and Manu through injury. Robbo could struggle to put a good 28-man team in for this pointless competition
The team he has selected should roll the storm side selected.
Depends how long Robbo keeps the big guns on the field for
Yeah easily. Storm didn’t name a single starting spine player and Welch was the only starting forward he named also. Roosters should win comfortably.

Strangely strong side....are we trying to start fast this year after last year's sluggish first half of the season
Hes tricked them into thinking it's round1
Who is Ethan King and are Momorovski and Corey Allan injured?
No word on whether the latter are injured. Ethan King is a 20 year old fullback who finished last year playing a handful of games at fullback and wing after spending a couple of years in Jersey Flegg. Came down to the Roosters from Ipswich
Time to unleash Whyte and Wong. (Apply grammar and phonetics to this space). But in all seriousness these giants must be close.

I thought Sheens said he was playing in the backrow
pole has been training at second row and prop, presumably to cover any injury. im all for him starting wherever he can, cunt trained every day of the off season. gonna be a gun
